The academy better recognize this film... Michelle Yeoh deserves an Oscar for this..
And even if she can K.O. someone with her powerhouse punch, she won't punch anyone at the Oscar's. 😆
YES!
@@annk387 Beat me to it! (No.pun intended)
@@kevlow9494 my bad 😆
She, Ke Huy Quan and the Daniels deserve to sweep this year.
Michelle Yeoh is a living legend. Glad to see her still leading big action films.
One of my fav, she is.
She's fantastic. Been a fan for many years & I am really excited to see her new film 👍
@@andys8483 You’re in for a treat. It’s epic
@@andys8483 One of Michelle Yeoh's greatest work was in Ang Lee's martial arts Wuxia masterpiece in a form of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.
Absolutely. I grew up on her, Jet Li and Jackie chan movies.
This interview is just amazing. I adore her and this movie. My all-time favorite. “I was really blown away by the fact that the superhero was this ordinary, aging, Asian, immigrant women…and we never notice them, because they are fixated on going home, cooking for their family, and doing the things for their children or their husbands so it was wonderful that I had the opportunity to give this woman a loud voice and let her be a super hero.” The sheer genius of this movie. Moms are super heroes. Go see Everything Everywhere All at Once.
Chills.. read this soon as she spoke it in the video! So inspirational.
Let´s be sincere... we don´t see women of a certain age. We work, we go to the grocery store, we shop, we take public transportation, are always busy caring for our children, grandchildren, husband or partners, or wallowing in our loneliness, pretty much invisible, voiceless, thinking that our loved ones need us so their lives are better, and it gives us a small sense of self importance, until it doesn´t, Latin women are very family oriented too, and it can be so hard for us!. Yes, there is the movie has an asian flavour, but it also speaks to ordinary women, you know?
Just saw it. On my top 50 best movies of all time.
Oh gosh.
The movie is
Everything Everywhere All At Once?
This is exactly what I thought
I don’t know how to sing this film’s praises enough. It is phenomenal, jaw dropping, hilarious, and the most heartfelt production I’ve seen in years. Hearing Ke Huy Quan in his trembling, lovely iconic voice beg, “We have to be kind, especially when we don’t know what’s going on,” will bring me to tears always.
Yup. I cried openly. I was trembling.
The movie is surreal, both itself and in its impact. On paper, there's no reason it should work at all; the individual bits of the concept are ridiculously silly. But somehow, it all ties together to form a highly entertaining film that also has heart *and* makes some profound points about the nature of omniscience, and deriving meaning instead of looking for it. Like... a movie with hotdog fingered humans and racoons controlling chefs shouldn't be this emotional or deep, but it is. The Daniels are mad geniuses.
I was uncontrollable both times I've seen it in the theater so far
Damnnn you made me tear up all over again
Her performance for Everything Everywhere All At Once is going to make her a force to be reckon with for Oscars 2023' best actress category.
I hope so. The problem is the voters might have amnesia as the Oscars are a year away.
They don't reward genre films. Keep dreaming.
Been reading this same comment on news clips (articles) of her 🤭.
It wasn't released during" awards season" in which films nobody would watch otherwise are advertised with pretentious Hollywood politics. This will probably have a great fan appreciation like The Big Lebowski or something, but probably not the industry.
I like that the movie didn’t play it safe and went absolute bonkers but I am more impressed by Michelle yeahs performance in the movie. It’s hard to play different characters in one movie but she pulled it off. She anchors the movie’s craziness.
Absolutely adore this woman. One of the original female badasses in cinema
Supercop is still one of the best action films ever.
I second that motion
@KLGoodman Jackie is an oddball for sure. I remember him being pretty misogynistic in his earlier years. But he is of an older generation so I don’t expect him to understand or care about certain things the way this generation does. Regardless he was still a childhood hero of mine
@KLGoodman why are you saying that about Jackie?
@@topbackpodcast2615 I remember reading that he was pretty misogynistic back in the day, and also that Michelle corrected him of it XD
Totally fan girling over her! She’s been so classy, elegant and cool for ages! More please!
Asian actors have been celebrities in my home since the 80's. As a black guy, I cant wait to see them get their due. Can't wait to see Everything All at Once. And give Jackie Chan the flowers he deserves. He can act dramaticly. I thought the Foriegner was one of his best movies. Much love to Michelle Yeoh can't wait to see you win best picture / actress.
The Foreigner was an amazing movie!
I had serious Jackie vibes too.. but that’s not Jackie.. that’s Ke Huy Quan
@@rookscast2093 I don't think they were talking about Short Round's actor, they were just making a side point because she and jackie chan were in supercop together
@KLGoodman What does that have anything to do with this black dude's comment??
@KLGoodman Because you commented that as a reply. Duh.
She DOMINATES in the movie and it is not only a masterpiece, but a cinematic landmark.
Totally agree
masterpiece ? Gosh that word is thrown around way too much
@@dylana.9057 But it is tho...
@@dylana.9057 I mean it's no Death Stranding video but it's pretty good.
Movie was too cutesy-wootsey for its own good to be a masterpiece. Michelle shined tho
She's the queen of everything. So happy to see her non-stop thriving
For those that didn’t know, in the clip at the beginning, Michelle Yeoh is fighting Death Dealer (Andy Le) from Marvel’s Shang-Chi and the legend of the Ten Rings, the masked trainer of clan Wen Wu. It’s him without the mask. And both of them were in that movie as well. Same with the daughter, Stephanie Hsu.
Spoiler:
Directly after that clip, Andy Le’s character and Michelle desperately fight over a butt plug before a big cop jumps on it. This movie is wild
I need to watch that!
@@sueshe2256 Both Shang chi and Everything Everywhere all at once are fantastic movies. Michelle Yeoh doesn’t miss 😁

As a Malaysian 🇲🇾 i watched your movie growing up, Tan.Sri Michelle Yeoh is a living legend that make all Malaysian proud
Hello
My favorite movie of all time crouching tiger hidden dragon
As much as I enjoyed this interview, its almost criminal to have such a short one. Yeoh is a legend and deserves more time.
She, Stephanie, Ke Huy Huan and Jamie Lee all deserve lots of awards time. Incredible perfomances in a wonderful movie.
As a Malaysian I'm proud of you Michelle Yeoh.. 👍🔥☺️

So happy to see that she finally is getting the attention she deserves in Hollywood 🙌🏼
Totally agreed with U, she deserved more than that; if u go thru’ her whole filmography history from HK to Hollywood^^I’m proud of her because we r Malaysian^^♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷💪🏻💪🏻✈️✈️✈️✈️✈️🎞🎞🎞🎞🎞📣📣
I agree. I always felt Hollywood never gave her the lead roles she deserved. Considering Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon very nearly beat out Gladiator in the Oscars back in 2000 (and honestly probably should have won), it’s downright criminal it’s taken her this long to get a lead role in an American movie.
what she was literally a bond girl??? she is THE michelle yeoh
Finally the Mandalorian pushed her career
@@Daniel-lq5qq bruh that’s Mulan
On top of mastering everything else Michelle Yeoh is a fashion icon. Anyone can admire how that amazing yellow doily dress looks so beautiful on her. Then she pairs it with that cool motorcycle jacket, the glittery pumps and the perfect retro shades. Flawless glowing skin that needs little makeup, stylish hair a healthy shine. Few people can pull all of this off at age 60 and make it elegant cool, badass and feminine--Michelle you are a legend.
You’re right, it’s natural beauty plus intelligence. Honestly, she can pass for being pre 50 with very little makeup per usual.
She was Miss Malaysia 1983.
Love loved the movie. I cried the entire time during the second half of the movie. I was trying so hard not to sob and disturb the people around me. Haven’t cried with a movie in a long time!
I've been a Michelle Yeoh junkie for two decades, but "Everything Everywhere All At Once" is literally one of the best movies I've ever seen. And that's not mindless hype. DON'T MISSS THIS MOVIE!!!!
Michelle Yeoh will turn 60 this coming August and there is no stopping for her career… You absolutely make us proud. You go Girl 🇲🇾 🤩
I love that she's having a moment right now. Loved her since Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. I hope she is invited to host SNL.
Michelle Yeoh is a martial arts icon, living legend and funny to boot

she was also Miss Malaysia.
She's so intelligent. Few people can engage an interviewer the way she does. Awesome actress and everything. Whenever she has a role in a movie I go see it because it's almost guaranteed to be good.
Intelligent, classy and utterly charming.
She carried that film to perfection! Michelle Yeoh deserves an Oscar Nom! Her best performance yet on one of the wildest and most incredible films I've ever seen!
I agree and Ke Huy Quan performed superbly. He stabilized the characters and allowed for smoother transitions between the scenes.
So happy she’s still out here getting recognition. What a gift to get this film so late in your career.
Michelle Yeoh is a legend. She is great in all her movies but she’s phenomenal in Everything, Everywhere, All at Once. I hope she gets an Oscar for this movie
She just did...won the Oscar on 13 March
As a Hongkonger, I've been watching her since her first movie The Owl vs. Bumbo. And finally this. I strongly advised the Academy to reserve a seat for this film and this amazing actress. She definitely deserves an Oscar for this.
Saw the movie (Everything Everywhere All at Once) a week ago...based on what I've seen on the Internet... the movie is highly underrated. More people should be talking about this masterpiece of a movie.... and even more should be watching it!
Underrated? The movie has like 98% on rotten tomatoes and everyone is calling it the best movie of the year so far. I would not call that underrated lol.
Everyone watching the movie in my theater loved it!
@@The_RedVIII that’s why. It should be 100% and greatest of all time. Lol jk (tho personally it is for me) I think by underrated the op just meant still not well-known since it is still not a big commercial movie style wide-release
It's easily my favorite movie of the year by far, and I'm pretty sure that's not going to change by the end of 2022
@@The_RedVIII _Everything Everywhere All at Once_ has 219 reviews on Rotten Tomatoes which is smaller than _The Batman_ 's 458 reviews. I watched the film last week and liked it. The film's subtitles may turn away a segment of the audience who refuse to deal with subtitles.
I always thought this lady never got real recognition and the status she really deserved. She is a real living legend and one of the very few universally loved artists. I salute her.
I would watch the FANTASTIC Michelle Yeoh in ANY movie!!! She embodies EVERY character she portrays AND convinces the audience that she really is that person, FOR REAL!!! One of my fav movies with Ms. Yeoh is "Memoirs of a Geisha." She's one of many fantastic artists in this movie.
If MICHELLE YEOH doesnt win the Best Actress Award in the Oscars for her amazing insane performance in this movie, then the result is rigged. She gave her best Performance ever (to date) in this top notch Movie. As her fellow Malaysian, I am very proud of what she has achieved. Ur pretty 😍
Michelle Yeoh deserves her own category in all the award shows.
This is the best movie I’ve ever seen! Michelle Yeoh and the film deserves Oscars!
Her best movie since her iconic and legendary film: Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.
@@ajpat9620 yup, both are great but very different films. Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon is based on traditional principles and beauty while Everything Everywhere All at Once is ground breaking, progressive, sophisticated, deep in many ways, and full of humor.
I mean who doesn't love this lady.
What a legend.
Memoirs of Geisha, Crazy Rich Asians, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragons, Everything Everywhere All At Once. Michelle Yeoh is in some of the greatest movies in history.
I wouldn't be surprised if the producers of this film wrote it with her in mind.
I can't imagine anyone doing it better.
She has the athleticism, the presence, the emotion amd the comedic timing to make it all work perfectly.
Iirc they actually wrote it with Jackie Chan in mind, but decided having the protagonist be a woman would be more interesting!
She's been great in every movie I've seen her in. She's so classy, kind, and interesting in this interview.
She has real superpowers (like hanging from helicopter GRACIOUSLY - who does that right?) What a treat! 🥰
Bring her back every chance you get plz.
Ke Huy Quan performed flawlessly in that film. He stabilized the characters. His cool and calm demeanor allowed smoother transitions of the scenes.

Yeoh played a superhero 30 years ago already in The Heroic trio! One of the craziest, funniest, wildest action movies ever nade.
Don't forget her other role as the motorcycle riding masked superheroine in "Silver Hawk".
The movie is weird, fun, intense, breathtaking, emotional, funny, just everything. One of the best movies this year!
Michelle Yeoh is an absolute legend and a total SMOKE SHOW. Look at her in the 1980's. She's a certified OG!!!
This is a fantastic film! So expansive, so deep, so exciting, so wild, so bizarre, so dynamic! It’s a delight and a must see multiple times!
Everything everywhere all at once is probably the most impactful and beautiful film I have ever watched in my life, I can't wait to go back and watch it for a second time!
She still has a Malaysian accent even after living overseas for such a long time. She came back when there was flooding here.
Imagine having that thick of accent but yet being cast in so many roles. It shows what tremendous appeal and talent she has.
I think her accent is more like Hong Kong's Cantonese accent although she's actually a Hokkien Chinese. Being born & raised in Ipoh gives her that advantage of Cantonese speaking environment.
I think it adds her tremendously unique and alluring charm. This woman is such an icon.
She said that she said she only play Captain Philippa Georgio is to keep the accent…
As a Malaysian,we are very proud because of her
u see, caught again…i know someone will say like that…funny
I remember watching Tomorrow Never Dies in theater as kid. One of my favorite James Bond's movies. Definitely my favorite of the Brosnan films
Still one of my favourite Bond Films after the Daniel Craig era. Ontop of being a New film while growing up. Elliot Caver played by Jonathan Pryce is one of the best cinema villains ever. Sadly it's highly based on real world examples. It has become more prescient as mainstream media keeps evolving.
I love her! I’m glad to see her in so many projects. The movie was so good! The whole cast did amazing!
Anyone who signed up to this deserves some award for bravery. Pre-filmed I have no idea how you would convince someone this would work.
She was just sublime playing Aung San Suu Kyi in "The Lady" and in "Memoirs of a Geisha"!
Esp when she had to give that long speech in Burmese; how many "brilliant actresses" can achieve that !
Can’t believe she’s 60 yrs old. Looks young and gorgeous
She makes me proud to be a Malaysian! She's an Oscar winner for sure

This movie is so fascinating and so heartfelt. I never thought I'd get teary eyed over some rocks on top of a deserted canyon.
Michelle Yeoh is so precious, I love the part where she says she was happy to give the unnoticed older Asian immigrants a loud voice. She was incredible in this role, and of course other ones as well!
I saw her 30 years ago and she was special. She's even more impressive now. Love her!
Jimmy’s interviewing style is horrible. Michelle is a goddess and this movie is fantastic
When was the exact time Jimmy passed you off in the past?
She should have movies written just for her and her talents. OMGOSH I cannot get enough of watching her work.

It is the best film I have ever seen, (hotdog) hands down. I was completely entranced - for me, it is a masterpiece.
The script was beautiful, layering incredibly complex concepts in an intuitive and easy-to-follow. The characters are strong and relatable, brought to intense life by some amazing performances by the four leads. The action scenes are as kinetic and breathtakingly acrobatic as any Michelle Yeoh has ever done, but absolutely original and often hilarious.
