Yuta is doing exactly what he supposed to do. Solid two way player off the bench who can step up the odd time when the chips are down like tonight.
He's not a starter but, that reliable fill in you can count on that every successful team needs.
absolutely
He definitely deserves those minutes! double double!!
Yuta looks much more confident this season. Such a great player.
This guy is on fire
The coaching staff should give Yuta Watanabe more playing time as starter and more ball possessions...this guy can develop more...he can ball...he obviously not a one dimensional player...he plays Defense, Offense, Rebounds, and has a good handles and can pass he has a good vision ...
No
Only problem I see is that his position and what he does overlaps with Siakam. He is doing well though, I like how he always looks to push the ball and make plays for his teammates.
Yeah I hope he develops more. Maybe he'll be good. But with most of the regular players out on both sides. For this game he was to be one of the main players for the Raps, and he put up good offensive numbers, but got doomed by poor defense for a blowout loss. It looked almost like a pre-season game during mid-season
It was a weird game of two teams playing mostly a small number of bench players and mostly G league players against each other. Yuta, Boucher, Svi and Delano didn't live up to it and lost badly by 40 or so points. Yuta showed good offensive numbers but got preyed upon on the defensive side of things. Normally, as I fan, I'd be happy to see him getting a 20+ point and 10+ rebound performance, but the results were so bad.
If I was Masai, I'd throw the longest contract at Yuta as I could. Cause with his work ethic and hustle, he is only going to get better and more valuable
So true.
agree
so agreed
Nets got him 💪🏽 We’ll treat Yuta well
@@cashmoneyz30 I saw, i hope he flourishes with yall and make us regret not resigning lmao
I said it already but ill say it again. He's already better than 90% of the league.
Goes to show that starting with 30+ minutes and reigns to control the offense and handle the ball makes all the difference. Yuta got to bring the ball up almost every play and they made sure to look for him when passing the ball. It's ridiculous how he isn't a regular starter for the team already.
And only lost by 50.
@@Nick-sl1qr They signed 3 10 day contract guys because of Covid and only had 9 players! Those guys minus Yuta and Boucher never played together and were only briefed about a few plays while on the plane! The fact that they could even play together is a miracle! It'd take a superstar, Kobe-like performance of 50pts from Yuta to make up for the lack of talent and disadvantage of random guys thrown together!
I love Yuta a lot but he still definitely isn't worthy to be a starter on this team. We're already going to have the issue of not knowing who to start between Trent, Barnes, Siakam, OG, and whatever center is healthy. So Yuta isn't going to be a starter for sure, but he can still be a huge part of this team as a very good role player.
It is good to see Yuta play well tonight and set a new career high in points. It is nice to see him bring the ball up the court and be a playmaker. I was expecting him to score a lot given the roster we had today. I am glad he made the best from this opportunity. He showed that he is more than just a spot up 3 point shooter on offense. I like the versatility of his offensive game today. Maybe he can start again for the next game against the 76ers even if the Raptors get Pascal back. He should definitely start and finish over Svi or Boucher for the next game. By the way, Yuta should have been credited with 2 blocks in today's game, not 1 block.
DONT FORGET VANVLEEET!!

Yuta is the real deal. Possibly a future 6th man if u can develop the bench around him.
😂
God damn, he solidified my All-Star vote for him!
I dunno bout all-star personally but I wanna see him be a consistent starter for sure
No all star yet. But a solid basketball player
He’s in the NBA for a reason
And what is that reason? Some teams tank on purpose indirectly. But he is a feel good story. And I hope he actually does become good. But I'm still unsure. This game should not be something he fully feels proud of. He was expected to the main guy on the Raptors with most of the team out and playing with G league players. And he played against a team with mainly G league players and lost badly. His offensive numbers were good, but losing by 40 points or so isn't that good.
@@chongqinger exactly what I was thinking, videos edited like this can be misleading... I noticed the score around the 3rd quarter... He has size and a good handle for a big, blocks shots rebounds.... the lefty thing never seems to work out wonder if he is ambi.... Raptors develop players in a different way tho so maybe he will be a legit starter in that system... conditioning seems suspect too..
@@RickyHil I think hes a true lefty yo, check those three pointers he be makin
@Mark Seino wow I never thought about that... are you saying a lefty release has a distinct look kinda like a lefty swing in baseball as opposed to if u mirrored It? If so, what is the reason for that, Gravity? Always drove me crazy..
@@RickyHil I'm not sure bro. Interesting thought tho. For lay-ups I feel like it could throw players off because in the heat of the moment they go to block it like they always would and its not often that u practice blocking a lefty maybe??
There are some great young players in the league. Fun to watch.
Idgaf they need to make sure they keep this man. He damn near can get a double double off the bench as it is.
He was a starter because the Raps had no starter players due to Covid/health and safety protocols. He was one of the main guys to rely on along with Chris Boucher and Svi. The rest were mostly G league players. And he played a team of mostly G league players too - and unfortunately lost by around 40 points.
@@chongqinger They lost to Garland, Rubio, Markkanen, Wade, Love, and Valentine who combined for 114 points. None of those guys are G league players. Just felt your last sentence was a little unfair lol, especially considering the Raps were missing practically everyone.
@@lucasfetters3482 The score was a difference of a country like Korea losing to the USA by that amount. Garland is good. And some of the other guys are Ok. Cleveland had only about half of their regulars. The Raptors giving up 144 points is embarrassing.
@@chongqinger I definitely agree that they shouldn't be getting trounced like that, but I also don't think Yuta is like LBJ or someone who can hard carry the roster they had playing, but I still think he has mad potential to be a really solid player. I just watch a lot of Cavs games, so I was like waittttt, those guys playing are definitely on a whole different level than most of who the Raps were playing that night.
@@lucasfetters3482 not did I mention he should play like LeBron. He and 3 other regular Raptors, I think, who were part of that bad loss. Almost by 50 points. It's hard to praise a Raptor that night
New generations are the full package. Cheers for them 🍻
I'm glad we have yuta, hes our 6th man
6th man with 25-30 consistent minutes and ball handling while still developing to a starting spot would be much better than anything any team has ever given him! Yuta is not a 3&D player he's a SG/SF player with PF size! Yuta needs ball handling, bring the ball up and a pass near the top of the key to bring the ball up to play well and fast breaks. 6th man spot will allow him to start as well as lead the bench as SG/PG when KD or Irving are resting.
I really like the energy he brings with the Nets
Welcome to the Brooklyn Nets, Yuta!!! 😤💯
If he can take care of the ball better, We'll see him starting more games soon.
11-20 field goal
Not bad for rookie player
@@mr.fadeduck4334 ?? this is like his 4th year
@@mr.fadeduck4334 That's pretty good field goal
I know what you meen. He sometimes do a careless turnover, especially while dribbling.
He should improve his handling skills and will be able to become a more solid player I guess
not just scores, I really like his competitiveness,go watanabe.
I'd immediately secure this japanese kid cos the world knows how dedicated japanese people get in their work. They take great pride with their work output.
Yuta #1 😱 🔥🐐🇵🇷
Awesome!! Hoooo!
lesh go YUTAAAAAAAAA
Yuta in the starting line up for the Raptors due to health and safety protocols. Other team also almost similar. Yuta does well offensively, but suffers a blowout loss.
🐐
He got game fr
Who is here, cause of the nets😉
imagine Yuta playing for GSW
He's with Brooklyn now
blue lock project is real
Does the dirty work!
Nice......
He is good role player like Jeremy Lin, he is also as fragile as Jeremy Lin, like 3 highlights games and then coming off a 10 games injury break.
excellent!!
Watanabeast
all that pokemon and mario paid off
It's Slam Dunk if you really want to credit an Anime.
give yuta watanabe full playing time, and you get all of asia to watch. lol
Yuta with an Dominate game, yikes, that loss from us is an terrible loss.
Who’s here after a nets signing?🙂
Yuta could be good if he gets more minutes.. does lots of dirty work and good rebounder..
Watasanity!?
Yup! Yup! Watasanity!!!
Awesome in turns of points, shooting percentage and rebounds, but the loss was bad and so was the plus minus and turnovers. I know he had to play with mostly G league players, but he also played against a team with many G league players too.
Need to improve handles dude get turnovers so often

He now signed with the Brooklyn Nets. I hope he replaces KD and his bag of bullshits.
