Nice job, Damon! Being a little OCD with methods is always good working with plants or animals.

Thank you so much for all the information, your videos are so informative! I just got into gardening and got some sundew seeds! I was just wondering if you could maybe make a video or explain the best way to transplant them into individual pots when they are big enough using this method. I don't want to mess it up and end up killing them while transplaning. Thank you!

Your vids are starting take on an ASMRy vibe. The tag writing, seed paper crinkles, sowing/paper tapping, & water spraying gives me the tingles up the back of my neck. :) Bravo on this series so far! Would love to see these seeds grow and follow their various stages until they're ready to be sold.

If the plant tag is too smooth to write on (not all tags have rough sides) rub some fine sand paper over it a few times, that will fix the problem!

It’s counterintuitive that pencil writing lasts longer than “permanent” marker ink, but out in the sun and rain, pencil does last longer.

Hey great video! I have one question though. After the stratification period is over and you put your seeds in the pots like you did in the video can these pots be placed outside to germinate or is it only possible to work under grow lights?

You can put them outside to germinate! We’ll be doing a follow up video on our seed pots soon!

Thank you for the great. I have a question regarding perlite. I am not a fan of it because it floats up to the surface and then it’s just a bunch of huge chunks on the top of the surface. Do you know any place where we can locate medium or corse perlite? I’m located in California.

We use vigaro brand and it does have some larger chunks that do annoyingly float to the top. You can do a blend of peat and sand instead of peat and perlite too!

Damon, I have a doubt. In the web page of California carnivores it say that we must store the seeds in the refrigerator, but DRY!
But you said that we need to store the seeds in a plastic bag and WET.
My question is: is not a problem to store them in a completely sealed bag being wet? The water inside the bag for one month without chance of getting out, it’s ok? I took my sarracenia seeds, applied fungicide and with the same moisture I stored them inside a hermetic bag and putted into the fridge. I did it correctly? Thank you so much for your teachings. Sorry for my English.

You should store seed in the refrigerator, dry, until you are ready to use them. This will keep them viable for longer. When you are ready to sow them they will need to experience a period of cold and wet for stratification. You will want to mix in some dampened finely chopped sphagnum moss to the bag with your seeds as they will be starting the stratification process now that you’ve moistened them. I hope that helps 😊

@@sambenard2844 We put the soil, very well wet, into the InstantPot and cook it for twenty minutes. But be careful doing this as you can add too little water and destroy your InstantPot

Can I use green “live” spaghnum moss for planting VFT and sarracenia or do I have to dry it first

    • @filipk8255

It can overgrow the seedlings so I would say no

We recommend against it as it can mound up and overgrow the seedlings
