There's a million things to be said about this band, but one of the most unique aspects I don't see people mention enough: Vince, the sound designer (and synth and guitar player), is being treated as and acts as a full blown member of the band. And there's moments like in the beginning with Courtney singing and him tweaking the delay in harmony with her that it shines through how essential this is. I think it seriously enhances their live performances, and makes everything seem a lot more honest. He is just as important as all of the others and that's really refreshing to see being acknowledged.
Love that! I know a few bands who do this. Submotion Orchestra are a jazzy oldskool dubstep/future bass band from the UK whose long-term sound guy does this dubby delay stuff. And Strangely Arousing are a funky genre mix from NZ who have started dedicating a player to fx lately!
I saw Bent Knee in Philly a few weeks ago with The Tea Club and Thank You Scientist. I'm 52 and have been going to concerts my entire life. This was literally on of the BEST shows I've ever seen!!! Absolutely amazing. I went to See TYS and fell in Love with Bent Knee and The Tea Club. I love discovering new music and I'm happy to see so many incredible, passionate artists creating original music. Bent Knee is a sonic amusement ride that you never want to get off!
Well, I’ve just turned 62, and when I first heard this song in 2019 on British radio, I couldn’t stop listening to it. Like you, I am always keen to expand my musical horizons, and though some of my favourite music is usually more sedate, this band is such a welcome blast of fresh air. Long may they continue to make beautiful music!
Is this the oldies section? Yeah I'm 60 going on 18. New to Bent knee during lockdown. Sonic Amusement Ride encapsulates this absolutely perfectly. Well described where I couldn't when asked. Now I have the perfect descriptor for Bent Knee. Nice one. Ta!
Can someone please point me to more music like this. Like songs that reel you into the band as this one did for me a few years ago? And when I say that, don’t tell me the songs you love NOW. Tell me the songs that reeled you in. The best songs from then. I need MOAR
Regular bands are better on their studio than lifve. But, there's a rare elite of bands that are just the opposite. Their live performances always surpass their studio albums. Bent Knee is an example of it. Love you, guys. Courtney, there's something on your voice that makes us all tilt. It's not only you're an amazing performer and keybordist. I believe is your soul there, as well. Congrats, thank you and all our love from Spain!
I love when it's Jessica singing on that track. It brings a quieter moment that is often lacking. Sometimes, your music is too easyly and quickly in a lyrical and intense mood. Yet, I strongly believe the band has a very strong potential that is not truly fullfilled now. All the best. Keep going please !
Seriously, one of the greatest and most refreshing bands to release consistently incredible music in a long time. Every song is bursting with creativity from each instrument, the lyrics are always interesting & thought provoking, the emotion in Courtney's voice always shines through clear as day, and somehow their live performances always outshine the album versions (which whip complete ass too). I'd kill to check them out live, even their solo works are awesome.
I can't tell you how incredibly happy I am that Spotify recommended me to you guys a few weeks ago. I've been talking nonstop about you. Everything is so top notch.
This song hits me so deep, especially in this version. It almost made me cry, when the quiet part started and Jessica started to sing. Discovered them as a support for Haken in Hamburg last year, hope to see them back in Germany soon.
Having the guitar mixed more strongly into the left channel makes a surprisingly big difference in how I hear the supporting lines during the verses. Love this live version, you guys have an insanely consistent live performance whether in the studio or on a stage, and to anyone who hasn't seen it, go see it!
Tom Dowd brought me here, so glad he did. This whole album is incredibly good. I get shades of The Book of Knots and a bit of Diamanda Galas, especially in the tailing off of the vocals. Really exceptional work, kids!
Can’t hype this band enough. Everyone in this band makes it better. Courtney is UNREAL in live performance. Come back to St Louis again please and thank you
Ill always come back to this session for the amazing renditions of the album, even though my favorite is still Land Animal, You Know What They Mean's studio sessions are incredible.
I'm loving how Courtney's voice is more upfront in the mix compared to the album version. And those full-energy finales are the band's signature. They make me want to hear another song, and then another one...
These guys are my heroes. I listen to this CD everyday on the way to work. Been that way for weeks. So much going on in their songs that I notice something different with each listen. Then they put this out and shake things up. Love the innovations. My favorite band. I cannot wait to see them again! In fact, I may have to fly somewhere to see this tour again.
Seeing this wonderful joyous performance of the musicians producing their stunning original music really adds to the enjoyment of it. Thankyou Bent Knee.
One of the most interesting bands around at the moment. Where’s the references? They are so original. Remind me of when the Pixies arrived on the scene. Nothing like them before. I hope they get all the success they deserve, absolutely love them.
LOVE this song and have just added it to my Knock Knock: New Music! playlist. The whole album is wonderful! Looking forward to seeing you in April at Brighton Music Hall!
I'm convinced that Courtney is the best rock singer in the world right now.
I read somewhere that she's the only rock singer to have existed
Vinicius Airton yup...
Spot on, man! Chills!
Vinicius Airton got more than a little misty eyed when I saw her bringing it live last month
Yes!!!

This is the type of member that always look angry because of that xD
But seriously, I just can't fully understand what he does and I want to

That smile at 3:47
In the wise words of Ben, "Whoa! That's spicy!"
Courtney looks super happy, i love everything about this
Her vibrato during the crescendos gives me goosebumps.
@@aliensporebomb the way she uses dynamics Is great, her vibrato Is great, the timbre Is great. She Is just all fantástica all around
progrockrules it isn’t trust me. It has this effect on all of us

55 here and... yup, the love of this band goes for me too!
Is this the oldies section? Yeah I'm 60 going on 18. New to Bent knee during lockdown. Sonic Amusement Ride encapsulates this absolutely perfectly. Well described where I couldn't when asked. Now I have the perfect descriptor for Bent Knee. Nice one. Ta!
This music and this band is THE TRUTH 🖤

I cease to believe this band is from earth. These are superhumans at work here.
2:12 favorite moment the headbanging sound engineer at the background
I want to spend the rest of my life at a Bent Knee show.
3:32 Those two chords right there. I believe they are the linchpin of the song, and a crucial setup for the climax.
Watching Courtney sing this song makes it even more impactful than on the album. Godamn

Gives me goosebumps every time she hits those high notes. So emotional. This song has such a beautiful ethereal sound! amazing band.
I don't even know why I listen to other music anymore. All anyone really needs is some Bent Knee.
Courtney's performance at the end gives me "great gig in the sky" vibes
I love when it's Jessica singing on that track. It brings a quieter moment that is often lacking. Sometimes, your music is too easyly and quickly in a lyrical and intense mood. I found this song today and it made me cry omg it’s so great

Seriously, go see them. You won't be disappointed!
Her smile while singing is contagious ^^
Hardcore chills during the bit where the bassist sings. No, honestly, hardcore chills through the whole damn thing. Y'all are out of this galaxy.
It blows my mind this only has 15k views. Holy crap this song is good.
I can't tell you how incredibly happy I am that Spotify recommended me to you guys a few weeks ago. I've been talking nonstop about you. Everything is so top notch.
Make sure you check out Say So on their bandcamp as it's not on Spotify and it's amazing
My story as well. Quite a recomendation
@tartapet it's on Spotify now 😊
Honestly made me reconsider my values of human voice as an instrument. I think I severly underestimate.
It's truly ridiculous how good this is.
Damn...how did I miss this when it came out? Saw the band live around the same time this was released, and what a gig it was!!
This song hits me so deep, especially in this version.
It almost made me cry, when the quiet part started and Jessica started to sing.
Discovered them as a support for Haken in Hamburg last year, hope to see them back in Germany soon.
By far one of my fav BN songs
raw... even better
Mother of GOD

Dam, this song still amazes me.
Unconditionally in Love Forever
I didn't think I could love this song more than I already do, but this version is AMAZING!!!!
Seriously one of the few times a “live” version or re-record is better than the official release haha
Tom Dowd brought me here, so glad he did. This whole album is incredibly good. I get shades of The Book of Knots and a bit of Diamanda Galas, especially in the tailing off of the vocals.
Really exceptional work, kids!

Courtney's voice nearly breaking at 4:29 gives me chills. Probably wasn't intentional but it is absolutely perfect!
She does a similar thing in the studio version of Lovemenot multiple times. I wouldn't be surprised if it was intentional.
It's not breaking, it's distortion, it's 100% intentional. Just watch the live recording of lovemenot where she does it to a greater extreme.
4:28.
Vocals.
Holy shit
Ill always come back to this session for the amazing renditions of the album, even though my favorite is still Land Animal, You Know What They Mean's studio sessions are incredible.
CHILLS AT 3:05
Everytime Jessica sings. Pure Magic. This Band is pure Magic every holy time!
goddamn indeed
what a killer band
Unreal. Gotta spam this to everybody in the world until we hit 1 mil views.
There's nothing to dislike about this song. Magnificent.
What. a. JAM.
Truly incredible! That's probably my second favorite song from the band (on par with Terror Bird)
Lossless Bandcamp release for this whole session, please!
YES PLEASE
Did they do the whole album as they've done with the previous ones?
SO EXCITED TO SEE YOU AT BRIGHTON MUSIC HALL
Courtney es simplemente asombrosa. TODOS SON ASOMBROSOS! Amo su música! Vengan a Argentina!
What a great and extraordinary group of talents brought together to generate an energy as perfect and delicately exquisite as music.
I'm loving how Courtney's voice is more upfront in the mix compared to the album version. And those full-energy finales are the band's signature. They make me want to hear another song, and then another one...
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Damn this music is good

This band gives me cold chills. Amazingly odd and intriguing.
Dam this song is even better than before. And the band too. Bravo!
Goddamn is absolutely right..
Seeing this wonderful joyous performance of the musicians producing their stunning original music really adds to the enjoyment of it. Thankyou Bent Knee.

Stunning band, obviously loving every minute of this and rightfully so. Just perfect in every single way. Genius.

Thanks for everything you do.
I can't express enough how great it is to me. Congrats guys!
They might not be THE best, but there is no better live band in 2019! This is pure quality!
If Bent Knee aren't THE best I don't know who are.
Wtf are you talking about not the best ? Get your head out of your ass !
One of the most interesting bands around at the moment. Where’s the references? They are so original. Remind me of when the Pixies arrived on the scene. Nothing like them before. I hope they get all the success they deserve, absolutely love them.
