Celebrating its 150th Birthday in 2021, the locomotive was built in 1871 by Head Wrightson for the Dorking Greystone Lime Company for use at Betchworth Quarry.
The locomotive is now preserved at Beamish Museum in County Durham.
In this video we see the steam loco operating with the chaldron waggons on the Colliery Line.

I find the fact that the valve gear and the driving axle are geared at a 2 to 1 ratio very fascinating. I do not know why they did that but it does sound like the locomotive is working a lot harder than it actually is

I think it may even be 3:1. Though that valve timing does make it sound particularly choppy.

boiler is the 5th one now, the loco was restored in 1984 and ran until 1995/1996 ish, but it was laid up due to issues with boiler and bolts coming loose as the engine unit is attached to the boiler, the bolts coming loose issue is now cured using nordlock washers, and she was fully restored with new boiler from 2006 - 2010
