Serum Copper can be very misleading for copper adequacy in the diet, typically a reflection of your last meal and not of long term storage.
Best Way to Test
Lymphocyte Proliferation - Measures long term storage
Ceruloplasmin
Red Blood Cell Levels

Doctors don’t seem to want to run any test outside of their “normal standard” test. I’m so frustrated trying to get the correct test ran to figure out what’s going on.
get a print out to take with you to labcorp or quest or wherever and ensure it's on there correctly. Make them fix it if it's just copper serum rather than copper rbc. You really have to double check medical providers.
Peter keep up with the good work.
Copper affects iron.
Look at all these comments, Dr Osborne has not answered any of them.
The lymphocyte proliferation test for copper is not readily available in the U.S. I suggest you recommend lab tests that patients can actually have done.
yeah, I looked for this too. Copper RBC is readily available though.
Yes, 24-hour urine copper, copper RBC, ceruloplasmin, zinc, and zinc RBC are readily available and all help determine copper status. @@lisao3041
Valuable information... Thanks Dr Osborne 👍👍
Just got copper RBC test done after taking super doses of zinc
Do we absorb copper from a copper bracelet?
Pyrroluria or Pyrrole Disorder is NOT rare. They are common conditions and DOES cause copper toxicity, as large amounts of unbound copper end up in the brain and body. It can cause MCAS, mental illness, depression, addiction issues, and other health conditions.
I asked my doctor for a copper test and the result was 127. It was a Serum test, not lymphocyte proliferation. I'll see him Friday and ask for the better test...3:20
Peter, thank you for the great info.
I have a question:
I have lower than normal cerloplasm, but when I take even the smallest amount of Copper (200mcg) and Vitamin C (200mg), I get insomnia, feel tired, heart palpitation, chest pains, easy bruising and adrenaline attacks at night - Especially adrenaline attacks !
Why is that, and why can I not find anybody who experiences the same?
thank you.
Hey, man
Which form of copper?
This is a mineral I'd highly suggest getting from food.
@@Veldoril Copper amino acid chelate complex.
Yeah I think im better off just eating a good healthy diet :)
But to be honest the vitamin C is the main issue in my life at the moment lol. I can barely take it, it ruins my life.
(Even tho i enjoy the energy boost it provides in the first 2 days).
I have the exact same reaction. I have low serum copper and ceruloplasmin. I have high intracellular copper.
Must be a bio available form of copper. Keenly check your form.
@@nakiazagorski5361 what is a bioavailable form?
Males are more susceptible to Cu deficiency. My serum test of Zn/Cu was normal, but lymphocyte proliferation showed way more deficient in Cu. Mycotoxins deplete copper.
What about hair analysis
A friend had a severe psychological reaction to the copper IUD - no hormones added. Had it removed about 1 month later and it took weeks to calm down. We saw similar reactions according to individual testimonies. She had her hair tested and it was actually low. Is this a problem with metabolism of copper? There are normally no symptoms.
The copper IUD is the single worst medical decision i ever made. It should be illegal. My doctors were terrible and i fired them immediately after.
So does blood test low mean high? Or does high copper mean low?
That depends upon you and your diet. Listen to the video again and pay attention to what you're eating before a test
And about copper low at serum blood (4 me tested 2 times in a year and aways low, 59, 64) after i took some copper minerals for 2 weeks repeat the test and was 76 for cpper and ceruloplamin 16. This means copper deficienty?
Eating some beef liver once or twice a week should be enough i think🤔
So serum cooper of 175 is not bad, it could be thr ladt meal?
ALWAYS fast for at least 12 hours for ANY blood test regardless of what your doctor says.
Low ceruloplasmim a copper deficiency
I have 59 on my blood test of my copper
