Agree, and hitting it 30 yards left or 30 yards right on my course would mean 3 off the tee too often. Is this showing you cannot buy a game other than spending on lessons?
This is how driver launches should be. All well and good PGA Pros doing tests, but seeing Dave smashing them is more relateable. Looking forward to Dave's comparison test. Thanks Chris.
Said the same with the Calloway review. It means so much more to the ave4age golfer watching Dave reviewing these clubs than a Pro - I think you’ve got one up on all the other UA-camrs reviewing clubs here Chris
Well done Dave and Chris, excellent review 👍🏻club level players need these reviews much more than a scratch player hitting it dead straight. Hats off gents
@@mattjons1074 indeed Matt, but on my course we have so many leaves in the fairways winter is hit and miss finding it the ball. In the rough it’s shocking. I put scruffier balls in the bag so not bothered if I lose them, play what I find eg Slazenger’s, Dunlop and other brands I would not buy unless in the winter comp
These are very helpful videos btw. This really gives us a chance to actually see what these clubs do in a normal golfer's hands. No offense to any pro out there but you know as well as I do that most average golfers are in the 90-100mph swing speed and get 130-145 mph ball speeds. So the real proof is how accurate and how long is a club for someone that can't hit the ball 280 yards in the air. These are perfect for those of us trying to figure out if we really will get any advantage in upgrading.
Spot on, driver is the club I really struggle with, hit well it goes problem is that’s 1 in 10, the slice/fade/push right I can be long but just holding adjacent fairway! 3 wood goes out 240 and a lot less wild. My tee shot depending on that days game goes 3W/3H/4iron
where other than a links course in the Uk in the summer are you getting 40yds+ rollout? UK most of the year is carry plus 5-10 yds max. Instead of messing around with Trackman would be interesting to see numbers normalised from the start.
Good video. Are you comparing the Calaway Triple diamond ( low spin club) to the HD and regular stealth 2 . Why did he not hit the Stelth Plus ( low spin) club. The spin to me would be the difference , not the club .
Just upgraded to a G425 max from a 20 year old cleavland launcher and gained 20 yards! I’ve had lessons but can’t seem to motivate myself to put in the practice 😂 You seemed to enjoy the Callaway more Dave. Out of interest what flex shaft are you using in the drivers you’re testing? I was reg in my old driver but ended up with a light S in the g425 (same swing speed as you). Enjoying this content Chris 👍
great video ....I am 58 years old....9--11 handicap....90-94 mph swing speed....hit a highish straight ball with a PXG GEN 5 driver at 10.5 degree regular shaft...I am looking for distance and forgiveness ...my question is should my swing speed be more like 100 mph or more to fit in the PLUS model or would i be better off with the standard model or the HD ?.... if i went stiff shaft what would that do to my ball flight ? would i lose much height going to a 9 degree from a 10.5 degree and would i maybe gain some distance ? like the VENTUS TR RED 5 driver shaft
Perhaps Dave should try the HD driver with the weight at the back to launch the ball higher try the weight further forward and see if it launches lower ??
Indeed, see if they can optimise the club for Dave’s swing. I can sense Dave itching to spend if he can get a driver fitted and working for him. Loved his comment ref “only carrying 200 yards” relating to where his journey started
Thanks, I really enjoyed the review. This is the first time I have had the pleasure of watching Dave's swing and I'm wondering why his backswing is so short, is this something he is working on or is it because of a physical restriction?
@@daveharrison1160 I had a similar issue but with stretching exercises I'm now getting a better coil in the backswing. It might be worth working on your flexibility , perhaps👍👍
I really like chris and his videos but I dont agree with how he is depending too much on total distance. How often are you really going to get 40 yards of roll out? Not often. Carry is much more important and this club just didnt get it done for dave.
Thanks it’s kind of Chris to let me do it. Normalised means that it turns the stats you get from a range ball onto the figures you’d get from a premium ball, a pro V1 for example .
@@daveharrison1160 I was wondering as thought this opens the test to fitters bulls### but you are comparing apples with apples same range balls with the different clubs. Would be nice to see some flight data eg 200 yard carry 220 roll out and the roll out further on the TM. Was one substantially higher flight?
Taylormade came out with the Sim Max with adjustable draw bias and the Sim 2 Max did NOT have it. Then they came out with the Stealth which did NOT and now the Stealth 2 has the adjustable draw bias. Does anyone see a pattern or just me???
Possibly yes, but I’m comparing the results with the M1 I’ve got which is about 6 years old, so I’m just looking at what a difference a 6 year difference in technology gives me
Dave, I recently upgraded from a unfitted 10 year old driver and whilst my best drives are not much better my worst ones definitely are, better suited shaft and more forgiveness. £ for £ though I think I am seeing more improvement from lessons to reduce my flaws. Always nice to get shiny new kit though.
@@grahamwilcox4027 nice yes, necessary no. I think once you start changing clubs it doesn’t stop. Most cannot afford to change everything at once so go irons, driver, woods/hybrids, putter and repeat. If I can get into the teens handicap and play a good portion of my rounds do you gamble and say new clubs brings the score down a. It more?
Best not to do everything at once and there are some great used deals to be had, new is always relative, 5 year old kit can be had for good prices with plenty of life left in it.
And me switched end of last year from rogue st max ls to stealth plus and it's the best driver i have ever bagged. I even tried the paradym and stealth 2 and gained nothing so I'm happy
this is a great way to show reviews of the latest equipment. Well done Chris.👏👏👍👍
Quite refreshing

Nice to see normal golfers testing these new clubs 👍🏻👍🏻
Cheers, he’s kind enough to let me do it 👍
Well done for reviewing with a normal golfer. Much more relevant for most of the viewers
Cheers
Definitely nice to have Dave on the channel hitting these new clubs.
Thanks Jeremy
Absolutely
Kudos to Chris and Dave. Fantastic video. Really looking forward to the comparison video.
Love that you’re not just hitting bombs yourself and that you’re showing how an average golfer (but not Andy this time) hits the new clubs.
Nice to see Dave trying out the various drivers and his insight … helpful👍

Great work Dave. Enjoying this true test Chris. Looking for more.
Nice review Chris. This is exactly what I’m looking for in a review because I know what might be for me.
Best reviews out them all
These really help us out
Thank you

Agreed the triple diamond should be compared to the stealth plus for more accurate comparisons
Club Head speed is "king" if you want distance. That said, Dave demonstrated that the Stealth 2 is forgiving with off-center hits...
Nice job Chris, I just wish the sound was higher?
Nice to see an ordinary guy yesterday. No offense to Chris and James but they are pros and could probably hit anything well.
Good video Chris and thanks Dave. I'm leaning towards the Callaway myself.
It’s a difficult choice I’m still wavering

It would appear that Dave could benefit from a Ping SFT or the new HL. Designed for his swing.
I Trust Dave’s reviews.
enjoyed this clip, would like see Mr harrison with the Sim driver , plus the transfer window is still open !! ( should Mrs H be worried )
Andy, your back, we’ve missed you. I thought Man City weren’t at the top of the league or something.
Oh hold on wait a minute 😱
I tried all new drivers...ended up with Paradym 10.5 with hzrdus silver 50g .
Triple 💎💎💎 was to low spinning for me.
If he hits it high why not drop the loft? Or hit a 9 degree driver?
Thanks, I really enjoyed the review. This is the first time I have had the pleasure of watching Dave's swing and I'm wondering why his backswing is so short, is this something he is working on or is it because of a physical restriction?
