I like this panda better than most & better than what I have been able to come up with. The tutorial is very clear. I found myself speeding through some parts. The difficulty lies in some special ''Mr. Boma twists'' that are a bit out of the usual. They are what makes this panda great. I feel that one has to practice those unusual twists so the motor part of the brain learns them before the mind/intellectual part of the brain can recognize & remember them. Thanks for the generosity & kindness!
Hi! Panda is my new favourite dseign! congratulations! i just add two things to your original one, a piece of 160 green as a bamboo in de arms (that works very well) and a piece of 260 black to make the lips empty as the ones that you use to make the border of the shell in yoshii. Good job!
I'm sorry you feel that way. It is shot the same way most balloon videos are shot. You're the first person who has complained about it. In my latest videos I use an overhead camera angle to make it a little easier to see what I am doing.
Both are great additions. I also add bamboo most of the time, and I sometimes add an un-inflated balloon for the lips as well. But for the video, I was trying to keep it simple.
Absolutely, Warren. I have done it in goldenrod and brown for a lion, in blush and brown as a teddy bear, and in grey, black, and white as a koala, as well. But none of them look as good as the panda.
Thanks for watching and the kind words. I am mostly self-trained, so I don't necessarily do things the way a lot of people who learned from watching DVDs do them. I guess that's a plus and a minus.
Thanks. It took me a few days to get the design where I want it. I'll probably refine some of the steps in how I make it, but I think the design is finalized.
Pretty much I have done more than 100 balloons from youtube tutorials. I didn't say you can't make balloons and I didn't say I am a pro. Following a tutorial has to do with the way you shot it and with the way you explain your project. I have done even harder ones, like Spongebob or even Gary from Spongebob (that didn't all get as good as in the video) but making the correct steps. Intermediate or not your tutorial is hard to follow, not the panda itself
I've been sculpting balloons for just under 10 years now. Some of the stuff I see in these videos are pretty impressive. I try these out and practice them so I can do them at my work. (I make balloon sculptures for the kids and some of these ideas are GREAT for my job.)
This design can easily be changed into a Koala Bear just by using Gray/Silver for the arms & legs instead of Black on the Body than use White for the Black on the Head & Gray/Silver for the White on the Head. Draw a Big Oval for the Nose & draw some Eyes too. With a White Paint Pen you can add the bottom lip & you have your Koala! :D
i think you'er very wrong if you look on you tube this si as good as they get for designs like this as pro balloon tiwster my self when i do videos my self i like to get them done as quick as possible but have them as detailed as i can and for mr boma's balloons this is a very great video and is well demonstrated
Couldn't understand the first step? Make a hand's-width bubble followed by a pinch twist? If you don't get that, then I bet you have no balloon experience. This is an intermediate level balloon. Go learn the basics and then come back here. Lots of great twister on YT teach the basics.
Really? How much balloon twisting experience do you have? This is an intermediate level design, so if you are a newbie it doesn't surprise me if you didn't get it all. Practice your basics and come back to this video in a few months.
Google? Are you attempting to suggest that I could instantly find a cuter panda simply by googling balloon pandas? I have watched over a dozen Panda tutorials, this is my favorite and Boma is my favorite and a THOUSAND google searches will not change my mind.
Ken Stillman told me at a recent Jam that he could tell from my videos that I hadn't learned from his videos or Buster's videos because my style was so different from both of them.
Ok… explain this to me like I’m 5 lol I’d love to make this for my daughters birthday but as a total beginner I find it difficult to follow any of your tutorials. Cute panda though.
Like almost anything, balloons take time and practice to learn to do. My designs are generally for intermediate to advanced balloon twisters. There are many other twisters on UA-cam who teach beginner designs. I know, that's how I learned. Try Mike Floyd or Buster Balloon. I hope your daughter had a fun birthday. Happy twisting!
need to show the steps, I've watched over and over, still cannot understand what you are doing with the second up and over so you have spot for the ears. not clear the way you are explaining. cannot see the item you are working on. Been twisting for 6 years, just can't see what you are doing. the end product looks cute though
+Chloe Young - How much experience do you have? This is an intermediate level design. Also, did you notice there is a new video for this design that simplifies the head-to-body connection?
You are so gifted and you are so kind to share your lovely gifts with others thank you.
I think it's the best panda I've ever seen!!

From one balloon-twisting atheist to another, thank you very much. That is quite the complement.
Thanks. It took me a few days to get the design where I want it. I'll probably refine some of the steps in how I make it, but I think the design is finalized.
