This music is composed for the occasion of opening of the first steam-railway between Copenhagen and the city of Roskilde on june 1847. The Danish composer who composed the music was H.C. Lumbye. The orchestra imitates the train standing on the platform in Copenhagen, the train ride with the steam locomotive, and the arrival at Roskilde station. The total distance of the ride was 30 KM (18,6 US miles), and when the Train arrives at Roskilde station the train driver cries: "Roskilde - Roskilde - the train does not go any further". Pure Joy!
This is one of the best symphony orchestras. Not only do they play amazingly, they also seem to enjoy themselves while playing. They always have a smile on their face and often a large portion of humor in their performances. I have also seen when they play the great composers then they still have smiles on their faces and twinkling eyes. For me, this is the best symphony orchestra in the world at the moment. And are well deserving of winning that title. ❤💯🎶🎻 It will be a real pleasure to see them live again. This time in Raiders of the Symphony
I always get the chills when I hear that. My grandfather worked at the Frichs train factory building at first steam trains and then ordinary trains. He had a record of HC Lumbye which the music which you just heard was on.
This is the most exciting orchestra! Not only is the music they produce exquisite, but watching them perform is pure joy! I only wish the audience would not clap, but I can understand the desire to be a part of the action!❤

The clarinet player is on a journey of his own.

Worst part.
They put a Frichs locomotive in a dark basement at Den gamle by,,,,,,, that to this old DSB apprentice is just a outrage.
@@pliashmuldba Have you seen it? It is a great exhibition.
I can imagine chasing the train in rush when winter come ❤
Ok, M. Hansen
En fornem arv.

The clapping is part of how this piece has allways been performed.
clapping is part of the piece really - its what makes the sound of the train rolling
They are clapping cos this is the Danish equivalent of the Radetzky March!
I have always found this piece fascinating. We had it on a 78 rpm record when I was a child.
I always enjoy hearing this world-class orchestra.
At 10 poinrs, where are we going ?
Vart är vi på väg?
Roskilde.

ESTÁN A OTRO NIVEL!!!!!!!!!
MARAVILLOSO!!!!!!
meget smuk Opus
Flot
