My echo dot 3 won’t connect to the Wi-Fi the light stays orange
I've downloaded five different play store apps that supposedly are supposed to set up my 3rd Gen. Amazon Alexa app" nothing ever wants to connect, there's nothing easy about it...

I calmly threw mine against a wall after trying to get it setup for 15 minutes. I'm an engineer with two MS degrees and for the MBA I have a minor in IT. It tries to connect them says it dropped the signal. 5 times in a row. And the router is 5 feet away. Junk.
My question is, can echo dot be used without your phone connected to it via bluetooth after set up is done.

The Amazon echo devices are pretty amazing with a capable mediatek chip backing it
we didn't get past the initial switching on it didn't pick up or pair up with his wifi.

I bought one for my dad he doesn't have an amazon account and has an old phone atm so I never managed to get set up I tried bluetooth and using my Alexa app also his say hello etc and automatically carries on going through every language is that normal it was really frustrating?
