Very little visibility that day. Was a super cool day to be on the water and they were (kinda) hitting lol. Im just waiting for ice to stick around like many others lol
Brrr. Some nice fishing there brother out in the cold. Those are some tanks! How that cool looking space heater working out for you? Liked and subbed from a fellow angler. Stay safe and connected! :)
If you are talking about the circular thing in between my legs, that is an Ice Flasher that I use to vertically jig fish :) Helps me read bottom depths and also helps me see suspended fish/objects in the water column. Appreciate you taking the time to drop by, and even more, taking the time to leave a comment. Best of luck on the water, stay safe as well, and I will do my best!
I used to hit wipers on the yak right before the freeze also, having an anchor helps when there's any wind at all but you have to be set up in a good spot. You ever have luck targeting them through the ice?
I really struggle to get my kayak into a perfect position using an anchor -it is something I really need to get more practice with for sure! I usually opt for finding productive, protected water over using an anchor in the event of wind. I've not tried to target wiper through the ice in previous years, but I believe I may make an honest attempt this year if we ever get ice lol! This lake is an oddity in the sense that it is super deep and IMO it has quite limited structure/cover variation to pattern fish really effectively... Quite a few of us locals believe that the larger majority of the fish in this lake adhere more to roaming baitfish than they do to any kinda of cover in the lake which makes them really difficult to target during certain parts of the year. I'm trying really hard to gain a better understanding of it. I can say pretty confidently that it is the hardest lake I've ever fished when it comes to time I have put in verses any kind of informative or positive output. I believe in it though and that is what keeps me coming back for more! Good luck to ya this winter man -keep hammerin' them wipers on BC! 🤝🎣
Wow, that's a pretty cloudy day, but I'm glad they're hitting.

Exciting 👏🏾
very. made it especially rewarding with how many times I got burned before this trip. phew!
@ sometimes the struggle is too real 🥶 I definitely understand. These fish don’t always feel like being the main character

that was a good first fish worth the two hours lol
For sure! For me it is always worth it! Nothing better than being outside :). Catching a good one is definitely a bonus though! 🤝
