I used to work at Doncaster Sheffield Airport when it was RAF Finningley. I worked in the Search and Rescue hangar and latterly developed and gave courses on the Sea King helicopter. I also worked on the E-3D Sentry by developing and presenting a course for Air Communications engineers.
There's some stacked up Heras fencing blocks down at the bottom of Old Bawtry Road. You get a decent view above the fence when standing on them, however you have to get there in plenty of time or else they're all taken by other spotters.
