- Charles Band's Full Moon Features/Full Moon Entertainment has been churning out wonderful, weird, and delirious films for decades, but how does their mystery box game stand up to the competition? I volunteer to check it out in this video, but am a test subject who gains super powers or am I a canary in a forty dollar coal mine? Watch and find out.

shrunken heads is a classic! written by matthew bright, and directed by richard elfman (danny elfmans brother), both these guys are the ones who made the movie forbidden zone, and matthew bright also went on to write and direct freeway and freeway 2, 2 of the craziest movies ever. a and mutant hunt is pretty cool too.

I think there might be one or two non-franchise ones in remote locations, but the chain is out of business, I believe.
Adam Cesare I remember when they used to be practically on every corner. They disappeared seemingly overnight without a trace. Now, you can’t find a video store if you tried. Redboxes everywhere. I am wondering if DVDs will become obsolete due to streaming and video on demand. Probably.

I have a strange affinity for "Shrunken Heads". The film doesn't know if its a kids, horror, or super hero movie.

Subspecies looks good on blu ray, I'm surprised Full Moon even has the budget to make blu rays lol especially decent transfers. I remember Blockbuster carrying a lot of FM stuff back in the day.
There’s definitely a sliding scale in quality to their Blu-Rat releases, but some of them are surprisingly rich looking and great.
My favorite Full Moon movie?! Sophie had an easier choice.
Back in the '80s, my buddy and I would rent two or three FM (or Empire) flicks every weekend.
I've met Charles Band a couple of times. I even bought that same Blade bobble-head from him.
(Met Megan Ward, as well. She signed my Crash & Burn DVD.)
Ha! When I was a teenager Charles took all the cash I had (this was like the first hour of a con) for a complete (up to that point) PUPPET MASTER set. And I think he realized what he'd done, after the transaction was over, so he slid me a couple more DVDs and was like "take these too." So I'll always have nice associations with Band.

When he was at Cinema Wasteland, he did a bit of his roadshow, then told those in attendance that if they went to the Full Moon table and said "some ting I don't remember," they would get 50% off their purchase. I believe that is when I got the Doll Man/Demonic Toys box set.
Gingerdead or Killjoy Goes to Hell are my favorite Full Moon Movies.
Hard to choose between Trancers and Demonic Toys/Dollman.
DOLLMAN VS DEMONIC TOYS has some of my very favorite puppets. I'm surprised they haven't worked their way into more of the Full Moon catalog/branding.
Do you have any recommendations for horror reference books?
What kind of reference, film? Books? For film I really recommend Stephen Thrower’s REGIONAL HORROR FILMS. It’s really interesting with some underseen movies detailed.
I can't decide between Subspecies or Puppet Master.
Of that match-up I’d probably choose PUPPET MASTER. But if I’d seen both of them when I was younger, it’d be a much closer matchup.
There is definitely a nostalgia element to this, if I watched them both again it would likely be an easy choice.
Hello i ordered the mystery box this year they said 300 dollars worth of stuff do they include alot of movies ?
This was a 30 or 40 dollar box, can't remember exactly. Would hope/imagine that you'll get a lot more stuff (I got 4 or 5 movies, a bluray and a few dvds). Please let us know! Good luck.
