Well done young lady! You opened my eyes a little more. I personally have not used "Discord" but familiar with it. Although navigation is tough. Did not realize the scope of this venue. But never the less, I am a stand alone father of 11 year old female triplets, my wife passed 4 years ago from ovarian cancer. So ya, I've been put through the gambit. One of the Girls is "Prim & Proper" the other two are going to give me "stroke"! OOOFFFF......but they are my "angels". The two I mentioned have a discord account and you just gave me the ability to monitor there account. Yup tried turning off WiFi, access to internet, and other choices but, have you ever had 3 pre-teens conspire to torture you? "NO"! Welcome to my world! (BTW, I will never change anything")! Thank you big time for your vid, you inadvertanly gave me a way out. LOL avb!

I have a question. My child joined a server, and when I looked at the sidebar of that server, there were Voice Channels listed which were not for children. To have a voice channel visible on the sidebar of a server, does that mean the member has been IN that voice channel or do they just show up as part of the server side bar?
I just don't get discord. I've been able to join one "server?", yet get stuck trying to get into another. It's asking me to reviews the "rules" which I did and I accepted, and next they say to go to "No Access" which I do not see and cannot get this figured out. The old fashioned forums are so much better and the search function in Discord is, well, there isn't one.

Excellent synopsis! This is our family go-to app now, since dad (...me...) finally gave in and stopped trying to convince the kiddos to use a business app like MS Teams. 😂
I've seen Discord now used in business amongst coordination groups like IT vendors, which makes me think Discord eventually will notice and jump into the professional ring too.
One last note in an already long comment - we've noticed that sometimes video/audio and noise isolation on video calls can exceed some business remote meeting tools' quality.

Define your terms. A server is a set of users with a broad common interest (i.e. trees). A forum is a set of users within a server with a narrower common interest (i.e. sycamore tree diseases)

Yes there are subscriptions that admins can set for servers.

My young teen is asking for Discord. So I'm trying to understand, as the parent, I download the Discord app 1st, then what next? How do I get the parental control to monitor his account? He has to download it as well, or I ask him to join me? I'm still confused about that part. Thank you.

But yeah, the point of that message is that I recommend people to not download and use discord ever again because people in discord can be extremely rude
Had a bad XP one day cause I got blocked for 24 hours by being smarter than moderator/ admin. Even not insulted or something like that. They even did not told me why. Just feels an accord place to be.

How’s this for silly, I can’t find the “Family Tech Discord Server” have no idea where to search for it or look for it in Discord. I found a search field and no matter what I type into it it comes up with nothing. It just says “We searched far and wide. Unfortunately no results were found. I typed in “Family Tech Discord Server”, nothing. I know I must by in the wrong place but where is the right place to find this server?
You can't find servers that have under 1000 members. The link to my server is in the description of this video. Just click it and you'll be there.
