Looks so peaceful
Appreciate the comments on sleep quality . My biggest peeve is when reading review sites people talk about EVERYTHING other than how they slept or the quality of the mattress
Thanks! Sleep quality is the most important thing for me in a hotel :)
Hi Chris, Thanks for you comments on the noise. I recently stayed in a Southern California hotel where my room was round the corner from the elevator. Whenever the elevator was going up and down, it sounded like a jackhammer. I looked out the window and did not see any construction. I learned that being close to the elevator can be an issue. First time I had this issue! Also, I told them they need Drano for the shower.
Oof! That sounds awful!
Thanks for the review, I have wondered f the price was worth it. I appreciate the free parking but good to know about the poor soundproofing.
Hi Chris. Very nice property with great things to do. I think this is best for conventioneers who bring their families with them. Thanks for sharing and take care.
Thanks James 😊
I really enjoy your thorough and highly informative reviews, Chis. And I totally agree with your 2,5 rating in this case: and even at that we’re being totally generous.
To me this is a fancy motel at best and NOT a hotel. In my book, in a real hotel the only access to the rooms should be via a main lobby and with electronic keys liberating the elevators. This way you potentially have a record of which guest accessed the elevator at what time.
And to add one more con to the list of the cons that you aptly pointed out, I should mention the precarious security situation in a motel-like setting like this. Anybody in their mother’s name (whether they are hotel guests or not) could walk up to, and possibly find access to, your room! Not to mention, those nasty staircases are perfect hiding places for shady characters bent on robbing people etc. I wouldn’t pay $40 a night for that joint, much less $400 !!
Thanks for letting me know I'm not totally off base 🙂
Your rating is spot on. Stayed at this property for 1 night last week. Very average for $400 per night. Only saving grace is the location to Carmel and the coastal drive which is breathtaking.. great content keep up the great work.
Thanks Michael!
We have stayed at this Hyatt hotel the last three years and like it a lot!!!!!! Luckily, we always at the top floor so no problem for us light sleepers. However, you do have to drive everywhere. The other big big con for us is Hyatt changed it from a level 4 to a level 5. They seem to have changed a lot to level 5's.
Please do a video on New Orleans some day. I visited it a couple of years ago and I found it to be the best city I’ve visited in the U.S! 😊❤
I really enjoy staying at Casa Munras, the rooms are nice. The staff is nice and the Tapas resturant on property is very good. Its .8 miles from the wharf and easy walking distance to downtown.
Thanks for the tip!
Yeah the noise issue is one of my greatest fears. I ve spoken to a few people who stay in hotels about hotel noise and they said that they dont hear people around them. Now im worried :(
Thing is it's Monterey. The next best option would be a small motel or air B&B.
Yikes! That would not be fun at all to get woken up earlier than planned due to being able to hear a ruckus above you. It reminds me when I was staying somewhere and someone started blaring loud rock music above me around 1 AM. You know when it's way too loud when you can hear the lyrics!
Ooof.. yeah... there must've been a party going on!
