I have been practicing tahajjud for the last several years without missing even a single day. My kiyam , rukooe and sujood are very long with dua and thasbbeh and thahleel and isthikfar. I cry and tears rolled on my cheeks. After namas I pray for thouba. I have no tension in my life. I cannot explain in words that what Happiness I have experienced . Now I cannot live without thahajjud. May Allah give power to pray thahajjud toll my last breath.

My life changed after I had prayed the first ever tahajjud salah. I cried when I was on sujud. It was a turning point of my life. Before that, I didn't pray at all. I only prayed jummah salah. Nothing more than that. But when I prayed tahajjud, it changed me. After that, I prayed five times a day, seven days a week. It was like a magic. It was poetic, beautiful spiritual night for me. It definitely makes a difference. Alhamdulillah.

I've been praying Tahhajud for years.
I was in a women's refuge with my son. All i remember is waking up crying & praying tahhajud every night
I had a dream i touched the kaaba
1 year later I got a job in saudi as a teacher & I went for umrah. I touched the kaba in the same place as my dream
A few years later, my mum died Rahimullah. I went through a divorce, gave birth to my 3rd. I ended up homeless at my sisters house sleeping on a mattress
I kept praying tajjahud. Every night.
1 few months later i meet my husband, we get married in 10 days. I started my business and scaled to multi 6 figures. We migrated to Africa & we live off grid
Tahhajud is the secret to getting your duas answered. You can pray it up to 10mins before fajr

Salaam walaikum, what this lady sister talking about, she is very true to the point, if you get up for tahajjud, there is no way you can skip your salaah during the day. For the past 7 months, I got into that habit of tahajjud, I feel guilty if I did not, after a month started tahajjud, I received a good news my wife was pregnant, my first child, that gave me more energy to even add salaah to hadjat, unfortunately I lost my baby in six month pregnant, allahamdullilah but I said to myself I will not stop doing it whether I'm in sadness or happiness, Allah knows why it all happened,I make dua to Allah to increase my imaan and yakeen in him. From day one, I used ask Allah to grant a healthy child, but he knew why it happened. I'm sad and in pain, but Allah knows best, I will not question Allah for all this, I just ask Allah to make me feel guilty if I miss my salaah and tahajjud. Allahamdullilah

Al-Tirmidhi (942) narrated that Abu Sinaan said: I buried my son Sinaan and Abu Talhah al-Khoolaani was sitting at the graveside. When I wanted to go out he took my hand and said, “Shall I not give you some glad tidings, O Abu Sinaan?” I said, “Yes.” He said, “Al-Dahhaak ibn ‘Abd al-Rahmaan ibn ‘Arzab narrated to me from Abu Moosa al-Ash’ari that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “When a person’s child dies, Allaah says to His angels, ‘You have taken the child of My slave.’ They say, ‘Yes.’ He says, ‘You have taken the apple of his eye.’ They say, ‘Yes.’ He says, ‘What did My slave say?’ They say, ‘He praised you and said “Innaa lillaahi wa inna ilayhi raaji’oon (Verily to Allaah we belong and unto Him is our return).’ Allaah says, ‘Build for My slave a house in Paradise and call it the house of praise.’”
      (Classed as hasan by al-Albaani in al-Silsilah al-Saheehah, 1408)
It was narrated in al-Saheehayn that there is a special reward for the person whose child dies but he bears that with patience and hopes for reward. It was narrated from Abu Sa’eed (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the women said to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him): “Give us a day (to teach us),” So he preached to them and said, “Any woman who loses three of her children, they will be a shield for her against the Fire.” A woman said, “And two?” He said, “And two.”
      (Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 99; Muslim, 4786)
According to a report narrated by al-Bukhaari (1292), Anas ibn Maalik (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “There is no Muslim who loses three of his children before they reach the age of puberty, but Allaah will admit him to Paradise by virtue of His Mercy towards them.”
These ahaadeeth explain that if two or more of a person’s children die and he bears that with patience, then he is promised Paradise and salvation from the Fire.

BarakahAllahufeekum that was so nice! I can really attest to what Dr. Tamara said: When I am in a state of Ghafla and I fall out of praying Tahajjud and stop doing Dhikr, then I need so much sleep and still, I feel restless and tired, this leads to being more moody and anxious and eventually puts me in a state that does not align with my character, at all.
However, when I am in that habit of praying Tahajjud and doing Dhikr, then my spirits are lifted; I feel well-rested and rejuvenated even after just 5hours of sleep and I am in a much more productive and positive state + I actually get things done as opposed to those time periods where I am in a state of Ghafla.
May Allah forgive us all and guide us to a better state.

    MashaAllah Good talk!
For the sleep deprived folks there is this thing called Qailula in Urdu & Siesta in Spanish (the afternoon nap) 💤 that can help those, who need to catch up with their sleep but also want to be regular in their prayers.
And as for developing a good new habit , I think I read a Hadith about a 30 day … example and this helped me relate it with the time of Ramadan, when we can start practicing not only fard prayers and fasting but also Tahajjud prayers besides doing several other good deeds to become deserving of Allah’s magnificent grace, rewards & blessings . 💫

Hi all. If you would allow me to share here, on minute 13. The question of 7-8 hours of uniterrupted sleep vs waking up for tahajjud. I once read a sunnah:
Rasulullah PBUH is a ln early sleeper. After Isya, he would spend some time with his wife and then goes to sleep. Thus, by the time he wakes up for tahajjud, he already had ample amount of healthy sleep. After tahajjud, he would sleep about 15 mins or so and Bilal would wake him up for Fajr. After fajr, he doesnt sleep. He starts the day. There is also a sunnah saying it is not advisable to sleep again after fajr. That is his sleep routine and how he starts the day. So yeah, ample sleep and doing tahajjid is completely doable. It is us, modern people who sleep late. If we follow that sunnah, we get both. wallahualam.

I have found peace and happiness in praying Tahajjud. Reading the Holy Quran at Tahajjud is very fulfilling. Surah Al Muzzammil tells us about Tahajjud and the benefits of reading the Quran at that time. I hope we can learn wisdom and patience to follow the path of righteousness. Salaams to everyone.
