- Randy and Tony demonstrate 2 different ways of spreading manure as Beckman Brothers Dairy tries out a different spreader. Randy describes the workings of a side slinger vs. a rear slimger.
Special thanks to my daughter, Robin Cooper, for providing the music🎵
I like the way you cleaned up the old spreader for storage
keeping it somewhat clean and dry definitely helps keep them from rusting out. thanks for commenting
We bought new Slc 126 this summer. we like that it has the same 47 inch open like the bigger spreaders, but can still use the same tractors on it that we had on our 8124. The side slingers are great for slurry, compost and pen-pack manure. Buy what you are used to and know that will work for your operation. Happy Thankgiving!!!
thanks for commenting that's good advice and likely what we're going to stay with have a happy Thanksgiving as well 😊
They definitely have a pretty price tag. Just purchased a new sl118 and list is 60k. Got 12 years out of our last 8118 before the sidewalls gave out
yes it is definitely a shock when you hear the price but when it's something we use regularly it's nice to have something in good working condition we used to run 8118s then moved up to the 8124s then to the 132 you definitely can haul alot more with thr 132 I would consider going to a 141 but my they are such a big spreader thanks for commenting
We had a H&S 5142 side slinger. Does a good job in slurry and does a really good job in straw pack, just slow unloading, but chews it up and even spread. We have a 750 tubeline vertical to. Use for straw pack and haul solids out of pit when we have liquid hauled out of our pit. Work ok, solid better than if liquid. We bed with sand.
Like the H&S better than the knight that we had. 8142 I think was the number. H&S is a right hand discharge.
I think the h&s are very similar to NH side slinger we used to run 25 plus years ago and they did a decent job but can't really compare to how the knights handle pen pack just my opinion thanks for commenting
They do spread good. I have a roda 180 it's a little bigger and heavier. No slurry with it though, just like that demo.
if we didn't have as much slurry as we would probably strongly consider a bigger hydro push but we all like the job the side slingers do so that's what we'll likely stay with thanks for commenting
The side slinger works best for your needs
yes they seem to be our spreader of choice and they will likely continue to be in the future thanks for commenting
We had a hydra push box spreader up until 10 years ago when we bought a kuhn 8124 side slinger, now we never use the box spreader even in pen pack manure.
thanks for commenting we do like the slingers better so we're going to stay with them
We run a h&s top shot 2596 gallon single 24 inch auger that will raise 8 inches if bridging is a problem beater has solid replaceable paddles less running parts probably not as good of a spread but does a decent job
Thanks for commenting
I think H&S are similar to NH side slinger we used to run 25 years ago and they did a decent job I liked the over throw spread they had but it's hard to compete with how knight handles pen pack just my opinion. thanks for commenting
For what they cost, it would be nice to have a spreader that can be used on sloppy as well as dry manure.
you are absolutely correct and that is why we will likely stay with the side slinger thanks for commenting
Nice video.
@@danglaus2248 Thank you
@BeckmanBrothersDairyMore your welcome
Hydra push seems to be uneven in field delivery it works but not as well as slinger !
that's how we feel too so we'll likely stay with the side slinger thanks for commenting
I wish I could live in America and work in agriculture.
what part of the world are you from
@randybeckman6193 I am from Syria and I live in Lebanon
that's a long way from Kansas thanks for commenting
@randybeckman6193 Thank you, I will come to America even if it is at the end of my life. I wish to marry an American woman and be honest with me, but I do not know a girl.
Nice its nice to see a shit speeder no one talk about it .The first show I've see about it.
glad you enjoyed it thanks for watching and commenting happy Thanksgiving
Look at an h and s side slinger.
we've never tried an H&S I think they are very similar to a new holland side slinger that we used 25 some years ago and they worked decent but we really like how the knight side slinger handles pen pack thanks for commenting
Looked to me your camera person had to duck a couple times....... if they're gonna film action videos, they'll have to get use to shit getting Sideways 👍🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hydra pussh are nice for packs...... I still run side slinger cause of the versatility.
hahaha yeah we got a little close a couple times but we wanted to get the money shot hahaha. thanks for commenting
That sucks. Won't ever get one of them
we're going to stay with the side slinger thanks for commenting
Der rote kuhn ist viel zu lang. Den mit normalen Kratzboden und stauschieber und Breitstreuwerk optimal mit so einem kann man alles streuen
thanks for commenting we're pretty happy with the side slingers that's likely what we will stay with
keep the spreaders ypu have
we're going to stay with the same style of speaders we want to trade up on one of the spreaders stay tuned for our decision thanks for watching and commenting
