I have the newer 686-6 four inch, i also have the five inch 629 classic and the 329PD and the combat 69 2.75 inch, and the GP100 four inch, I must say that the 686 is my favorite, I love that personal protection device. Thanks for the video i really enjoyed the information you provided. 🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
@TerryBenton yes it is, I shoot Underwood full power 240 gr out of it and I'll tell ya you better be holding on tight lol. Oh and my combat 69 is a beast as well.
👍 Very nice collection of vintage 686s! S&W got it right with the 686/586 series of 357 magnums. I only have a newer 686-6+ three inch barrel that I purchased in 2021 but it is a fine revolver.
So what do you think about their newest models, in comparison to these; and what about their new 7-shots?... Also, which brand is objectively better, in your opinion - S&W or Colt?
I do not think there is a problem with the new smiths but I prefer the older ones personally. As for the colt vs. Smith question I have always thought Colt had the edge on smith and wesson in quality. Not saying smith is bad but Colt seems to always be a notch above Smith. Thabk you for watching
@@TerryBenton Hmmm... Yeah, my view is that Colts are a little more delicate - long-term, at least - from what I've heard... Obviously they're very refined - like they have action jobs right out of the box (and they're more polished). S&W revolvers seem kinda more rugged to me; like more of an everyman's high-end revolver choice. They're both great though; top-of-the-line.
Do you know if the 686 was ever offered with a 3" barrel and 6 round cylinder? The only 3" models I've seen are the 7 shot 686 Plus models. Thanks for the video.
Can’t go wrong with a stainless steel S&W revolver 👍. My stainless steel Taurus .38 revolver is supposedly built to the same specs as a S&W. It’s pretty sweet too.
The wood grips on the new S&W revolvers are not near as good looking as the Goncalo Alves grips from the 80's and 90's as on your guns. A fine collection!
Cool video them sir is some very nice looking guns
@@nathanwhite5602 thank you

@brianklamer3328 I do not think so. I think 2.5 inch is as close as it got.
