I’d sell my soul for fingers that long lol, cheers Shane 👍
That's a brilliant lesson Shane, thanks so much, can I please ask you what Model of Taylor guitar you wher playing on this song, Many Thanks Ian
Thank you Ian - very glad you enjoyed. I’m playing a Taylor 814CE. Love it. Cheers, Shane
About that change to the B flat: Instead of holding the Dm form and using the middle finger for C on the 5th string, try jumping to the B flat and use the ring finger for C on the 5th string. Then drop the ring finger to bar the 4th, 3rd and 2nd strings. A little less hectic.
That's the way I do it. It just seemed to flow a little better.
Thanks, Shane. You are truly amazing in your teaching and choice of songs!!
Thank you Steve - always appreciate your comments - hope you are having fun with it!
Shane

Thank you Paddy - much appreciated!
Shane
nice one Shane I enjoyed this one nice take on it..although I'm still much more partial to the Derek version every now and then I do like the laid-back version although radio did kill it for me I'm afraid Bud.. and I love Slowhand..been playing a lot of tunes from the money and cigarettes album I got back into that 1981 classic and I'm really digging the tunage on that one.. and I'm hoping to score some tickets this year to his new crossroads concert that he is bringing out again which is all star awesome. just like the original one in Dallas the one in Chicago I'm proud to own my both DVDs are those.
have a good weekend hope you're getting some warmer weather up there in Canada.

Thanks Trevor - glad to hear it's working for you. Great song suggestion - thanks!
Shane
Great breakdown. Have to work at it a little with my short fingers but you've explained it so neatly it's already becoming fun and when that happens I know I'll get it at some point. Many thanks for sharing and helping.
Thank you Midge - I hope it's going very well - there are a few things to work on in this one for sure. Just enjoy it!
Shane
Great! thank you. I'm sorry but I think you forgot a third passage in the riff, when Eric Clapton moves from Bb to C with a glissato.

Acalmar... quero sim te amo muito!!!amar... só você!!!
The beat buddy, does it connect to an Amp and is the cable provided and does it have a looper?
Hi Ronnie - yes, the BeatBuddy connects to an amp or a mixer. The 1/4’’ cable is not provided (standard guitar cable…). It does not have a looper onboard - it connects to a looper that has a midi connection (like the Aeros looper).
Could you make a video of how you EQ and set up your acoustic guitar line in Logic for your videos! As it sounds amazing and I can never get my acoustic guitar sounding any good when plugged in.
I always found it easier to play the entire chorus/riff around the 5th fret using all barre chords. Personal preference is good - and I’ve usually found people cheering by the time Ikve hit the 2nd beat of the Dm…. Shame it took me almost 5 decades to learn how to play it!
Thx, Shane
Thanks Van - hope you enjoy it!
Shane
Thank you for your advicr
Thanks Jean - glad it helped you!

Thank you for simplifying that , may try to learn that now. Love the sound of that Taylor as well. What kind of Taylor is that?
Thank you Michael - hope you have fun with it. Glad to have you with us. It's a Taylor 814CE. You are hearing it plugged straight into the mixer with a bit of reverb and compression mixed in. Cheers!
Shane
Great lesson! What model of Taylor is that? sounds wonderful
Thank you Pete - glad to have you with us here. It's a Taylor 814CE plugged directly into an Apollo 8. A bit of reverb and compression. Cheers!
Shane
Shane: which Taylor CE are you playing?
Hi James - It's an 814CE - about four years old. I really like it. Cheers,
Shane

I love Eric Clapton’s music. Unfortunately, my guitar playing is not this advanced
TONI DUPONT-MORA just keep at it, don’t give up, you’ll get it....how do you eat an elephant ? One bite at a time.....
Just keep at it Toni - it'll get there!
Shane
Shane ... Nicely done! You're one of the best on the tube!
Trying to sign up to your patreon site .. Finding it awkward to do?
Anybody have suggestions ?
Thx
Thank you Gord - very glad to have you with us - what sort of trouble are you having on Patreon - I am pretty sure you just go to the guitaratwork page and 'Become A Patron' - If that's not the case I'd be super grateful to know what troubles are out there as I am new at this. Big thank you!
Shane
Shane, bueno! Keep those Clapton and Neil Young classics coming. Are you going to tape Old Man for us Baby Boomers to finally learn?
Thank you Steve - really appreciate it - Old Man is a great suggestion - it's on the list!
Shane
Great lesson, on a side question....how offended do you change your strings?
Hi Dave - a lot of people ask for sure....it depends on what I have going on. If I need them to sound fresh. But just day to day playing/teaching etc I change them every couple of weeks. But realize I am on a guitar 8 hours a day 6 days a week!
Shane
Guitar At Work , yeah you’re playing a lot more then myself, an acoustic guitar is the only thing I know that sounds brand new when you put new strings on it...magic
Can you do unplugged men at work down under please? And thank you
Do you have to pay for each song or a monthly fee and receive all sheets
Hi Brian - the Patreon page is a monthly fee for all sheets.
Cheers!
Shane
think you could do a vid on Pinball wizard by The Who?
Great suggestion Callum - thanks! It's on the list for sure.
Shane
Great lesson! Could you teach Pink Floyd's Lost for Words please? Many thanx
Thank you David - really glad you enjoyed it - happy to have you with us and great song suggestion!
Shane
Hi ..what guitar model is it.thanks
Hi Rocco - it is a Taylor 814CE about three years old. Cheers! Shane
I wish you and your families a very different year ahead ,thanks for sharing your work .I play a larrivee DR3 dreadnought, I was interested in a Taylor cutway in future.can I ask your advice on an acoustic amp (AER?) or a good microphone? Thanks you so much
I've always played D not Dm and take my middle finger from E string up to the A string the same as you. Much easier. I have the Tab and it says D5
Yes - thanks Rod - the D5 is really a power chord.....neither major or minor but it is implied minor - Cheers!
Shane
Is it possible to barre the Bb chord using the ring finger and not mute the 1st (high E) string?
Hi Dan - sure thing. It's tricky but it can be done. You'll have to invert your knuckle on the ring finger in order to pick up the high E string. It means you'll also need to barre with your first finger. Cheers! Shane
Hi Shane, looking for a lesson on All Mixed Up, by the Cars...Can't find one online at all. Peace.
Good suggestion Joseph - cheers!
Shane

Unfortunately my digits are the opposite ' short / stubby , if they weren’t might have been a geeetar player instead of jobbing MD as you guys in the USA call us
Short and stubby can work too 88kjt - just keep at it. I'm in Canada!
Shane
If you are a beginner this might be hard to learn. If you have been playing 50 years like myself there is nothing hard about this.
