Was born afterworld War II. Not much was available due the Country being destroyed. I grew up being frugal . I used it throughout my life and it paid off

I had to laugh at the tomato soup hack. My dad would do that...he loved it. It wouldn't be as frugal these days.

Leave the skins on the potatoes & eat them. They are the most nutritous part.

I’ve been cooking for 58 years, have never removed skin from a potato. It’s the best part, roasted, boiled, mashed or potato salad the skins are the best.

Crush clam shells to feed your chickens; you'll get tougher egg shells(from the calcium). (A very freshly-laid egg has a soft shell, till it cools). *I make face cloths from cut old towels. And wipe rags for grease etc from old socks

It would be cheaper to buy tomato soup or tinned tomatoes rather than ketchup.

You can also use tomato sauce. Adding basil adds flavor

I know! A can of tomatoes, water, seasoning, and some kind of thickener is all tomato soup is anyway.

You can use your crushed eggshells in your garden also, or feed them back to your chickens. They need to replace their calcium too.

Recent studies have shown that pine needles store PFAS chemicals, so maybe skip the pine needle tea. Probably tastes terrible anyway.

Chlorine in tap water removes clothing colors! Agitator bars over stretch fabrics in reg washing machines. Dryers are the worst for clothes damage and cost the most $ to use after AC and refrigerators. Hang clothes to dry them.
