My family and I spent a bunch of time camping at Yosemite in the 60's/70's. We also went to Sequoia a lot also. Back then there where huge trees that had fallen across the water that's in the park. And my Late Dad thought it would be a "good idea" if we walked across them. We did it and my Late Mom who was deathly afraid of water crossed with us. I'm sure that those trees are long gone by now.
