Maximum Rhythm - synthwave jam with Roland J-6, Korg Volca Bass FM Sample

- Welcome back for a proper jam with the Roland J-6 and my passel of Volcas.
I was working on some synthwave setups to jam with and figured I'd work the J-6 into the mix.
I couldn't decide exactly how to use the J-6 in the comp, so I had it do a little of everything! It shows how versatile this little synth is.
The Volcas are passed through Little Bear mixer
Then to the NTS running a light Hall Reverb
Then passed through the Roland J-6 which is running its own delay and reverb effects per pattern
And then some light Ozone 10 compression on the final mix
Pretty sweet!
There are definitely some tradeoffs using the J-6 to perform parts I would do on the FM or the Bass, but they are all comparable synths, in my opinion.
How's the sound? Let me know how I can better balance the sound between the Volcas and the J-6 in the comments.

This one had some light Ozone 10 compression on the final mix; I forgot to mention in the description so I've updated it. I do this to add some definition to the multiple instruments since this is certainly not sophisticated hardware mixing.. haha, no.
@@Tetrad10 Thanks a lot for replying. I get some hiss when I record volcas, especially the keys, so I try to eq it out. Maybe I should just leave it as is. Yours sound very clear

Absolutely. It is a Douk Audio brand "ONE Little Bear" passive mixer with optionally powered headphone output, purchased through Amazon US.
