I'm no vocal coach....but in my 68 years have heard MANY amazing vocalists and in 2018 came across this girl singing the Rise-Up cover on the WISH bus....and sorry , Mariah , Beyoncé , Barbra , Celine , but in all aspects, technically, this girl is the the best female vocalist on the planet today. She is a complete performer that is at the TOP of my list.

She lost out in the voice Philippines singing a Jessie j song WHO YOU ARE, she said she hated that song after she lost singing it, fast forward to when she was 17 she got the opportunity to interview Jessie before her concert and was asked if she could sing, obviously Morissette said yes and was asked to sing a part of a song, after doing so Jessie said you have to come on stage and sing with me, you've guessed it, she sang WHO YOU ARE. with Jessie and the rest is history, to me she is the greatest FEMALE ARTIST out there, the one and only ASIA'S PHOENIX MORISSETTE AMON LAMAR 🇬🇧🔥👌❤️.

Morrisett's regiment she basically just sings at home eats a lot and before performances she likes to talk a lot and sing theatrical songs to warm up some. She had videos of all this and was asked what she does to get ready for a show.

@@markjosephgentil953 I've been following OPM since the early 90s. imo Charice was better than Morissette at a younger age, but Morissette caught up to and surpassed her several years ago. I'm talking as a vocalist, not about who was more famous. And that's not meant to take anything away from Charice's talent or accomplishments. She deserves every bit of accolades she's ever received and is rightfully a legend of the Filipino music industry.

Please watch Gandang Gabi Vice (GGV show) where Mori was challenged to sing "Pangarap Ko Ang Ibigin Ka" in different positions (standing, sitting, lying on her stomach, singing with a mouth mouth piece)...
Mori did an Interview with Jessie J for a TV Programm and talked about singing one of her songs, and came 3rd in the contest, Jessie J invited Mori to sing that same song with her on stage, as soon as Jessie asked Mori to sing the crowd went crazy, she was I think 18 years old at the time, what a Sound, two great Singers singing a duet.
She performed with Jessie J on her concert in the past.

Not even arguing with the Pavorroti statement. Her tone is like smoke on your ear.
It was Katie who previously made a bold statement that Morissette belongs in her Top 5 female vocalists of all time (see her reaction to Morissette's rendition of "Never Enough"). Finally, it's Jason's turn to make his bold statement by comparing Morissette to Pavarotti. I'm in full agreement. There is just no denying what we're all hearing here. Morissette is simply on that top tier level.

Pavarotti is one of my all-time favorites. I know they were making a general comparison, but one of the things he was most well-known for was the beauty of his timbre, just like Mori is for hers 😊

Just wanted to add Morissette is also in my top 5 along with Jane Zhang from China. So lucky living here in the Philippines that I get to see Morissette performing in a few months with David Foster in Manila.

I like Jane but you definitely cannot put her on the LEVEL of MORISSETTE, I mean this girl has everything over EVERYONE in the business because she can do everything so consistently and she's never afraid of a challenge, she's ALWAYS better live than her studio recordings and you can't say that about anyone else, she's an absolute GEM 🇬🇧🔥👌❤️.
I'm so glad to hear she will be performing with David Foster. I hope he can expose her to the wider world audience she deserves as he did with Charice. I also hope that performance is recorded well and put on UA-cam for everyone to enjoy. It would be really interesting if they do some of the same songs he did with Charice to enable a direct comparison.
@@nickjohnson811 I for one are not happy with this David foster connection because it is all about him, you can bet your life she will not get the opportunity to perform her own material, it will be all his crap, he never done Charice any favours, he pigeon holed her into this ballad singer when we all know she was capable of so much more, MORISSETTE deserves better than this dickhead who is only banging his own drum.

Speaking of Jessie with Morissette, actually they did an impromptu performance when Jessie had her concert here in the Philippines years ago. I don't know the exact story, but I think Morissette was one of Jessie's background singer. Jessie invited her to sing with her on stage and history just happened.

Super fun reaction, thank you guys! Aside from what you pointed out, one of my favorite aspects of her singing is how she maintains her characteristic round, rich, full timbre into her upper belts. I LOVE that and imho it's one of the things that sets her apart.

If you react to Mori and Jessie J singing Who You Are, the backstory makes it more meaningful. JJ was in the Philippines for a concert and Mori was a TV reporter at the time and still trying to get her music career going. Mori was assigned to interview JJ before the concert. During the interview, JJ discovered that Mori was a singer, Mori sang for her impromptu, and JJ invited Mori to sing at her concert. At the concert, JJ invites Mori to join her on stage and Mori joins the background singers for a minute to get comfortable before JJ invtes her forward. It is fun to watch the background singers jaws drop when the hear the young Mori sing. Mori had previously sung Who You Are on the Voice of the Phiippines which was not considered a popular song choice and widely thought to have contributed to Mori being eliminated. The irony is that Mori's singing it with JJ a bit later greatly helped to elevate Mori's career.
