Thank you Eli, great job. I am so glad that I have Capture On e Pro for the Mac. The lates updates make the program even more awesome. Can't wait to try them out. Once again, thank you and keep safe.
Thanks for the feedback man! Stay safe too :)
This is the most valuable learning minutes ever on this topic in Capture One. A million thanks, Eli for this exceptional effort.
Glad it was helpful! I just released a new Capture One video this morning :)
Eli oh my goodness this is beautiful! Thanks so much for all the juicy details! I’m long forward to applying these to my portraits tonight! 🙌🏾💃🏾💃🏾
You are so welcome!
I am new to capture one and this helped me so much! Thank you! My image turned out awesome, and I'm excited to practice the techniques on the other images :) new subscriber!
Glad it helped!
Thank you so much. This was very informative. I very much appreciate that you provided a copy of the RAW file to work along with you on. That alone was hugely helpful. I'm truly a novice, but considering capture one since the photo editor I used to use was lightroom 6, and I'm not interested in a subscription model. Thanks again.
You're very welcome!
This tutorial blew me away... WOW
I've been thinking of switching to Capture considering the type of shoots and colors I like and I feel very limited with Lightroom.
Thank you for this in-depth look into your editing style Eli, very well done!
Great to hear David!
This tutorial has been a great help! Thank you :)
You're very welcome!
Wow! Very good job! I'm new in capture one and this tutorial helps me a lot! Thank you Eli :)
You're very welcome!
this is a 35 min video, but I watched it more than an hour , awesome video, and finally I found that secrete behind that 3dimentional type, fully satisfied, and you got a new subscriber : )
you are a life saver brother keep up the great work !
Glad to help John!
Awesome tutorial.. Thats explained a good few things in one great video! Thank you sir!
Glad it was helpful Gary!
This was both very educational and entertaining to watch. thank you.
Thank you!
Great video. I'll have to play around with this today. Thanks for sharing your image. A quick way to do before and after is going into the keyboard shortcut and giving it a open key. I used the Y key. By default Shift+Y changes the before and after mode.
Great tip! I'm going to use that thanks!

Gracias Juan!
For Novice photographer like me this video blew my mind! My soul subscribed to your channel! Haha great job!
Awesome, thank you!
So much packed this. Wowza.
Appreciate it man! It's a long video but I definitely packed it with useful content.
Great tutorial, thanks for posting!
You're welcome! I love Capture One!
I srated the 30-day trial today. I was impressed that C!1-21 asked what camera brand I use. Other programs are generic. I don't know the work flow much yet, but I like what I've learned.
Great Job. Pleasure to watch and learn.
Appreciate it Rob! 😁
Great techniques - I appreciate you sharing them with us. The process for broadening the skin tones in the beginning is killer. One thing that popped into my head when doing the before & after comparisons at 19:00 is how much the image would have changed if you'd have profiled from a color checker like an X-rite tool. I know you've done skin work at this point, but globally I wonder what the starting point would have been.
Excellent tutorial, downloaded the file and worked along with u. So fa I’m loving C1 in the week I’ve had it.
Thanks man! What is your favorite feature in C1 so far?
@@EliInfante I shoot Sony and the files look great, I love working in layers. Now using the "migration" workspace for now until I custom the menu. Oh, also I love to work with sessions instead of catalogs. Having all these folders organized in the session is awesome, I bought the Sony version years ago guess it was Capture One 9 and never bothered to learn it, the learning curve hasn't been that bad as I thought it would be.

Great tutorial! Thanks for the video ;)
You're welcome!
Super amazing.. Thank you for sharing
Thanks for visiting
Eli, thank you so much for helping us enter the world of portrait editing with Capture One. With all the modifications you did, I wonder whether there is a chance in C1 to store your default values in a brush to not having to recall them when editing. I used a lot of customized brushes in Lightroom and would love to keep the element in C1. Do you have any tipps? Thanks in advance
thanks for the tutorial, it's awesome
You're welcome Adam!
Thanks for this one mate ! very usefull! Just recently got CO! I will copie your workflow :)
Glad you enjoyed it! If you have any questions feel free to DM on Instagram
Yes Yes Yes Thank you... You're the best 😍
You're welcome 😊 If you have any questions let me know
@@EliInfante How would you take this to Photoshop for further edit? Do export it as TIFF and open it over there or is there a way to directly open it on PS from Capture one? Thanksss :)
The smoothness slider is about the "transition width" on the color wheel to feather your adjustment. It has nothing to do with "how smooth is the color".
That's what I was trying to say but I said it wrong. Thanks for the feedback Rodrigo!
Eli. Just started watching your videos as I'm learning Capture One, great detailed video. Thanks for showing us "Todo el pedo"
I appreciate it Fern! I have more Capture One videos :)
Great job! Lots of great tips in your tutorials. You may want to check your luma range radius when using sensitivity slider.
Thanks for the tip!
Amazing work.
Thanks a lot!
Thank you! Helpful.
You're welcome!
really helpful ... came this coming
Will do! I have a few more photos coming!
Very good! You are not only a great artist but also a great actor 👍 (& great teacher!)
Thank you! 😃
I want to see more tutorial like this!
You got it Jose!
This is fantastic! Thanks for sharing!
My pleasure Matthew! I just released a new Capture One video btw.
@@EliInfante Are you referring to the "5 must use portrait editing techniques"?
@@matthewcheung5136 Yes Matthew :)
Awesome tutorial Eli, really well presented and packed with info. I've been using CO for a few years now and loving it more with each release. Do you try to do full edits soley in CO if you can get away with it as there's so much you can do especially in terms of colour grading. Or do you find that the plethora of techniques for grading and skin retouching in PS is still essential. All the best, Tony.
Glad it was helpful! For client photos most of the edits are done in Capture One with little skin retouching in Photoshop.
que padre carnal, ya quiero empezar con Capture One y este es un gran video de tu workflow. Daré el paso y me cambiaré de LR a CO
Que padre Kike! Let me know if you need help with the transition.
Eli Infante Thanks a ton amigo!
Thanks for this very good video. This just one video explain all that I need to use Capture One...... Thx
Glad I could help Dausi!
Great video. Thanks.

great job mate. subscribed
Thanks for the sub!
Cool!
Thank you!
Hey bro , this is so freaking hard me, I am from San Antonio. Thanks again for sharing
You’re welcome Luis! Thanks for watching 😁
Very nice! Just one note: in the luma range the sensitivity slider has no effect if the radius is left to zero...
Thanks for that Carlo!
SOLD! Great job - now I need C1 (the Luma range is bomb). Jeez...not much need to PS anymore LOL
Kepano 808 Yeah man C1 can do a lot! You can even copy the adjustments to other photos for quick edits
@@EliInfante That's insane! I was digging the "skin tone" feature. I spend an hour the other day fixing and matching a bad makeup job. I guess I'm in a dilemma about getting C1. I see the benefits, but I still need PS for frequency separation. I'm not sure if I should spend the extra $$$?
@@stkuj You can do frequency separation in Affinity Photo - much cheaper than PS
Just started watching your videos and really enjoying your presentations! Do you have a particular set up to your capture one interface or is it the default? Do you use sessions or catalogs? Would love to see any videos on your workflow! TIA
Yes I do!
Awesome video.
Thanks!
Great video! Just a quick question. With the skin tone tab I usually adjust uniformity first and then amount. Is there a reason you do it the other way?
Jack Saady No real reason I’m sure you’re approach is just fine Jack 😁
Thanks for making this video. I’ll try to implement these techniques in my next edit.
Glad it was helpful Logan!
about luma range: how can your sensitivity slider work if you have the radius set to zero? You have to have some minimal radius to make your sensitivity slider operational, no?
Thanks. Very informative! By the way, you mentioned you are doing this editing on tablet at around 7:25. Are you able to do the CaptureOne editing on iPad? Since there is no CaptureOne app available for iPad, how is that possible? Thanks again!
Hey man I was referring to a wacom tablet. :)
Fantastic, thank you so much. I'm just transitioning from lightroom and I'm in love with Capture One 20 so far. Just one question, does Capture One have an ability similar to "auto mask" when painting localised masks? Thank you :)
Yes you can!
I use capture one and Photoshop to edit my images but i don't find the right workflow to be more efficient in my editions, sometimes i am in capture one and jump to Photoshop and look like two or three times, I don't know if for your audience it'll be a good idea but if you decide to make it, I will be very happy. Thanks for your amazing content
Muchas gracias
Thanks Jose!
very good tutorial i like u r editing
Thank you so much 🙂
Great video tutorial
Thank you! Cheers!
one more thing: you need to rasterize a luma mask before working with the brush to change the mask?
Thank you...Gonna follow you..:)
Awesome! Thank you!
brand new user still in trial period -newbie question - I made a new tool bar as per Eli' instructions - added a complete list of tools I usually might need -named it, chose icon etc - seemed fine but then realised that some of the drop down menus won't open - e.g. filters, library, curves, keywords, color balance, black and white, lens correction, keyword library, style brushes or presets - is there a maximum number that can be added and work ? Are there some rules you need to know that aren't obvious? Any help appreciated.
if you are not using a tablet what do you set your mouse at, on the brush setting dialogue box? (not pen pressure?)
Great question I need to test it out!
No entendi ni vergas no se ingles, pero sigo paso a paso el tutorial viendo lo que haces y tener disponible la RAW es genial para aprender
Im surprised your image edit turned out well actually, since you used a few options that actually achieve the same thing (channel curves and color balance, luma range and vignete + dodge and burn) .
DrDryce Thanks man! 😁
smooth is about the selection i believe, it doesn't change anything
Yes I made a mistake sorry!
Can you send me the link where I can get the software information?
In fact I made two tabs, one for basic WB and Luminosity, and one for color only. You can even move these tabs.
Sweet man!
Does the latest version of Capture One allow more than 10 layers?
I believe so James.
Do you have a link to donate? Incredibly good content, and I’d wish to help you out for helping us out!
Appreciate that man! You can send donates to my Paypal einfante27126@gmail.com
Please tell me what is the difference between Capture One and Lightroom (or Camera raw)?
Watch my other Capture One video on my UA-cam Channel. I review the difference :)
Which monitor do u use Sir?
Myanmar Audio Channel BenQ Monitor
We’re can I get capture one ?
I have a link in the description.
what are the base characteristics?
I'll be honest I'm not an expert at that panel but I do like to use the shadows feature.
Brother cuando haces un tutorial en español 👌🏽
Hahaha I'm not sure Abel.
Deberias hacer uno que otro en español
Hopefully one of these days!
how much cost capture one?
$129 for License or $100 annually for the subscription. They have multiple options for you to choose from. Keep in mind there is a 30 day free trial.
Starts from $180 - www.captureone.com/en/products-plans/single-user/capture-one-pro
@@EliInfante you are the best♥ can i write arabic and translate it im not good in english
I followed along exactly and my image looks way different. Even my histogram is different.
Is your monitor calibrated?
@@EliInfante nope! I followed and still came out with a stunning export.Thanks.
euh... the raw file in your clip looks much more muted than on the raw file on my calibrated screen before you even retouched it. How is that possible?
It could be the calibrated monitor. I use a benq calibrated on a X-rite.
@@EliInfante No, difference is really too big. My pictures on my monitor are the same of all the other devices I have tested. Can not imagine that my colors are incorrect. I am using an Eizo with X-rite colormunki
@@leonb9260 Maybe I accidentally duplicated a settings when I made a copy.
@@EliInfante I am gonna act like that has happened, before I am gonna replace my monitor haha.. Thnx for answering!
Sigma 135mm?
Yes! :)
16:40
Instead of adding new filled layers and then inverting them why don’t you start with a new empty layer instead ?
Its a bad habit hahahaha!
This is a great workflow...however...Im going to be the elephant in the room....This is great for females 20-25 years old. Basically flawless skin. A little dodge and burn and whala! Gorgeous. right...well 20-25 year olds dont buy Portrait packages. Mrs. Smith that is in her late 40's does. This is great for the hobbyist, Not for paid client work. The inability for frequency separation is a deal breaker. Quite honestly, its par lightroom standard. Ive spent hours trying to make it work but have to keep rounding in and out with PS to complete client work. Id love to be able to migrate into C1 but my gut tells me we are years away from adobe standard. I love what you do...I love your work but 18-25 year old females in every portrait, is unrealistic....for a professional anyway. Have a great thanksgiving!
tanks for video, but Lightroom pretty easy for me, but lean much more about capture one in your video
Glad to hear that!
I don't really understand your use of R+G+B curves to change colors. Doing S curves for each channel is kind of killing what you want to do with the image ... it nearly only increase the overall contrast just as the luma or RGB curve would. Why not using color wheels instead ?
Very true Aruthur! The RGB curve is just my style for editing. It may or may not work for your workflow :)
So... Sensitivity does NOT work if you don't set a radius first in the luma range tool..
And smoothness on the color tool it's referred to the color you picked.. Does not change the smoothness of the color..
Be careful when you teach something that you are not familiar with..
Yes! This was brought up already 😁
you don't need to do all of that with Canon...
Good for you :)
damn why even use photoshop after this
Yup this would work great for client work!
@@EliInfantebuy me capture one
They have a 30 free trial! Try it out vato
Because there is no liquify tool and my friends love when I take off some pounds! LOL
HI h3xtOr... one reason for me to work with Photoshop in parallel is, that I cannot create macros for a complete workflow in Capture one.
💔💔💔💔💔
Thank you!
thank god. Avoiding photoshop!
Do you prefer Capture One Colin? I'm making more Capture One tutorials 😁
