Mmmm, pickled eggs. You used to see a huge jar on every pub bar - not so much anymore. I always wondered about the vintage egg at the bottom! Liked your tasteful addons to the Twins, especially the useful softbags on the front bars.
Thanks for Joining us. My favourite small pub years ago not only had Pickled eggs, but he would make monster Cheese rolls with a good slab of white onion in it. Best bar snack ever! our eggs didnt make it to be vintage im afraid. We have a full video on the lomo bags if your interested in them. ua-cam.com/video/HnB0sjmvvrc/v-deo.htmlsi=ZHPieCwjOiICm4Ro
Come to think of it, a pickled egg is a modification, right? From now on I’ll refer to my Africa Twin as “pickled” and just let ‘em figure it out . . .

Yes very true, they never come out the box perfect for you. Maybe this is why we get so attached to our bikes? There are many like it but this one is mine…
Bless the pickled egg man. I love random encounters with nice strangers. My funniest was when a woman asked me if my gopro was a sat nav. It was on my chin. That's a pretty stupid place to put a sat nav 😆
Going back to 1986 I entered a pickled egg eating competition in Berlin with a load of squaddies. I’m pleased to say I won but I can’t for the life in me recall how many I ate. I was very, very drunk and suffered for a couple of days afterwards. I haven’t had one since. Thanks for stirring a memory
Yes these Bags are great, i like to have the containers in the bags because they still look good and keep the shape when you remove your waterproofs or whatever you like to keep in there. Oxford have a range of bags like this coming out i think its called the Aqua range, We look forward to seeing this as they will do the full soft luggage range and knowing oxford it will be a good price
If you end up doing a run up to scotland during the summer LOMO have a showroom and shop at there Glasgow headquarters if you want to have a look at the various other bike paniers and things they do. Funnily enough its round the corner from the bike dealership for Honda.
Oh yes, the comms are great not only for chat but I can warn Ewa of hazards or communicate turnings should we be split by a car etc. The RE 350 will be a nice bike 👍
The Aviator Cafe at Dunkeswell is very nice, but the breakfast at Tubbys Cafe, on the industrial estate just to the left of the airstrip is amazing. I'm also a fan of LOMO crash bar (and roll top) bags. Mine have withstood several 0 mph impact tests without damage.
I have been to Tubby's its inside a old hanger type building from the original site i think? Yes the lomo bags offer allot of protection to the bike when dropped as it keeps it off the ground some more. I did ruin mine when i came off in poland at about 30mph, but with the bark busters and crash bars the bike was fine and i was able to pick up the bike and crack on with the trip.
Thanks, he was so sweet we had to feature him. Ewa makes me laugh, she tells the fella right away, confessing to her crime.... We wont be bringing your jar back!
Hi Keith, thanks for joining us. You should go for it, get yourself a midsize comfortable bike for spring. I promise you will never regret it. Glad you enjoy our channel
That's something I've never tried, pickled eggs? The local Chippy always had them but I went for the pickled Gherkins! 😋 What a lovely ol' fella he is at the farm, he made me laugh! Nice that you gave us a look at the aircraft, a few quid's worth there! Mostly Cessna's but I spotted a nice De Havilland Chipmunk. Great video, always something different, Rich go and buy Ewa a headlight protector cos if it gets cracked it'll cost you more! 😆
The red and white aeroplane in the hangar was a DeHavilland Chipmunk, and I used to fly those as a cadet! I did that at about the same time I started riding motorcycles, so 48 years ago.
Dunkeswell was the highest American Naval Air Station in the world, it was used during WW2 for anti U-boat patrols into the Bay of Biscay, just down the road you will also find Upottery Airfield and the Nissen Hut Museum (which opens in March) and is where some of the American paratroopers took off from to be dropped in Normandy for D-Day😉
@@ontheroadadventure -Rich, have a question regarding Ceramic Coating. I have got some new Carbon panels for my bike, what should I use to ceramic coat them to the same standard that you did when you did my bike last Year? Any help appreciated
If they are flat panels you can buy something like Cquartz 3.0 from Carpro that would be fine on it. Make sure you clean it properly and then panel wipe it before you apply a coating or you will seal in any imperfections or fingerprints etc
Might just be me but I never understand why people buy and place sat navs in front of the AT screen which does maps itself with many different options. What is it you’s found it didn’t do or did you have issues?
Hi Chris, The main problems with the built in Sat nav is that it runs on apple car play from your phone. A loss of phone signal will mean no satnav unless you have downloaded the maps. The next problem is that for some mad reason the phone doesnt bluetooth the apple carplay to the satnav, which means your phone needs to be wired via usb to the bike. This now means you need to mount the phone on the bars, so you might aswell have put the proper sat nav on in the first place. One solution is using a bluetooth dongle which your phone can connect too, however we dont know of a waterproof dongle as they are designed for inside cars not motorcycles.
@@ontheroadadventurethanks for the explanation. I got round the cable thing by running a usb cable from the socket at the front, through the bike (which I managed without removing the fairing) to the rear parcel shelf. Then I have a small day bag or top box which I put my phone in, connected to the usb cable. This means it’s not on the handlebars but also means it’s less prone to vibration etc knocking off the connection. Had no issues using google maps or calimoto using this method
Hi, We are big fans of the tigers, I had the 900 GT pro and Ewa had the xrt 800 as our last bikes, some of our early videos feature them. How do you find the size and weight of the 1200?
Flashing or strobing lights are not legal on bikes or cars in the UK. Only police, ambulance, fire and emergency vehicles. I tried to get a petition going to make it optional for bikers to have them because you get noticed a lot better, but the biking community don't seem to agree and didn't support the idea.
@ontheroadadventure most comments were centered on them hating bicycle flashing lights. I think they missed the point completely about being more visible to a car and possibly preventing them pulling out in front of an incoming bike. Sad.
You would think bikers would be up for anything that helps us be seen or heard. The orange lights seem very effective on their own as not only do the additional lights give more presence to the bike but the orange stands out from all the other light sources surrounding you from other cars etc
