I love this. No war, drugs, sex. Just pure soothing sounds.
The 60s Were Pure Sex And Drugs, Well That Was 1962, A Few Years After Things Started To Be Like That.
Favorite Doo woo song for on your car and drive-in favorites
Nothing wrong with war, drugs or sex as topics in songs if used for engaging and constructive purposes.
Had them at a high school dance in North Bergen NJ. They were great. That was back in 1963.
They played at my high school prom in '67 . Queen of Peace HS in North Arlington, NJ
I heard that they practiced in the beginning in the Jersey City parks men's rooms to get that echo sound.
They played at my high school prom in Fair Lawn, NJ in 1964.
My grandmothers prom was the Beach Boys. You guys got awesome bands :(
My husband passed away two months ago. This was OUR SONG
When I was In the Navy and at sea and away from the one I loved so dearly. I would sing this song to myself and think about the that girl, my new bride, my new wife, my true love ane how I missed her and wishing that I was with her. The song would help bring me closer to her.
That’s simply amazing. Hope you’re still here Larry.
HEY LARRY I WAS IN THE NAVY IN 1971 AND THIS SONG GAVE ME PEACE AND HOPE! WELL, IT DIDN'T WORK OUT WELL AFTER DISCHARGE FROM THE US NAVY. BUT I FOUND SOMEONE MORE SPECIAL AND EXCEPTIONAL THANK GOD! BEST WISHES

"You Belong To Me" is one of the most beautiful songs ever written and recorded!!
It's been sung many times by different artists............always gorgeous!
Absolutely. This song is amazing!
I was deeply saddened when I learned of Mike Kelly's passing, he truly had a wonderful voice. I have been a Dupree's fan all my life and, Mike's passing was very hard to hear. God Bless you Mike for all the Doo-Wop that you gave us, you are in all your fans prayers.
Mike Kelly was my number one favorite of the Duprees. Years later I liked Richie Rosato. But I liked all of the others too and was sad that some of them died very very young. RIP. ♥️♥️♥️
The king, and princes of DO WOP!Rest in peace!
Remembering Mike Kelly April 19, 1944 - August 7, 2012. Frontman for the Duprees 1964-1977. Love always, SG.

Am I the only one who smiles like a fool staring at the lead singer smile while singing??? 😍😍😍 He was so handsome! ❤️
No hun, he was fine as strawberry wine!!!!
He makes me smile also.
He was so;gourgeous , what a Voice !
I could listen to this all night!!! Absolutely the best song I've ever heard. Georgette
Georgette Serio Jo Stafford had a huge hit in 1952 with this song, way before The Duprees recorded it. Look her up here in UA-cam.
@@hmontalvo67 yes but i believe the duprees were much better.
Love this, he is so handsome!
Yes!! I totally agree!! Awesome song.
An All-Timer, for sure. The harmony is just terrific.
The Duprees are one of my all-time favorite groups!! I love every song they recorded!! Beautiful sound!!🎶❤️🎶
A timeless song from a timeless group. One of the best vocal groups from the 1960's, without question!
The best time ever
What a Voice! What a Smile!! No one can take his place! RIP
I heard this on the radio today. My parents were the class of '56 and '60. I know every word. I love this song. RIP Mom & Dad, I can still see you together, great memories.
The game Mafia 3 got me loving this song! Every time it comes on in game on the radio I make sure to listen to it in full. And this coming from a guy who likes heavy music like Slipknot and Killswitch Engage. Lmao. What a timeless and beautiful song!
Just so fine, my favorite version of this song, there will never be music like this again
This my favorite version of this song. Absolutely classic!!!!!!!
Doesn't get any better than this...
The REAL Duprees!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! From Jersey City!
A beautiful voice and so good looking!! I am almost 65 and I love the Oldies! Have passed it to my kids and grands.!!! This music WILL endure!!!!
Is the one next to the end Denny Laine?
Was he ever handsome with such a beautiful voice...
Powerful voice. Great song.
@@ownSystem while Mike Kelly was a great singer, this is the voice of Joey Vann.

What a pleasure to watch mike Kelly's beautiful face!
Music like this will never be made again! Our country has lost its innocence 100 times over. These were such great times!

I love this guy. The twinkle in his eye contact makes me swoon.
Super slow superbe chanson 👍👍👍👍🎼💯🎸
Ah the 60s , 70s and the 80s, when things were so much more simple , when a car was a car and music was music and a girl was a girl .
huh? Cars in the 70's and 80's were junk, unless it was a Toyota. Maybe simple in the early 60's, but that was the end, lol...
Amen to that my friend.
woodsscottable whatever you say , thats why people keep arounds Oldsmobile's, Chevy's and hold on to them and sup them up. I have a 1981 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme and its still running so go ahead and laugh
Tiny Tim,
David Bowie,
Boy George.
Xoce Pedro i love those years, I actually like the 69 better, the car from the Dukes of Hazzard, you know
Wish I had been there💕I graduated in ‘63!!! Best years of my life 1959 to 1969🤗🤗🤗
Sending this to my granddaughter. She's an old soul.
Remembering Mike Kelly, on what would have been his '70'th Birthday.
April 19, 1944 - August 7, 2012
Always with Love.
this was my grandma & grandpas wedding song. it means so much to my family and my grandma died october 22nd 2014. everytime i listen to this song i feel so upset. i love & miss you everyday grandma
You and I sonarman seem to share the same times and those same fond memories of being young and out at sea. I was a radioman which is now gone from the Navy's ratings but spend most my time in Hawaii and of course it was shore duty. Paradise is wonderful but you're always home sick when you are young, isn't that right?! I caught a cruiser my last year a med cruise and I was out. Great times, I guess you could say the best, being so young. Reached Hawaii in '65 that why I thought I'd comment.
RIP Mike Kelly love is music and his smile...
RIP Mike Kelly
That's Joey Vann singing & smiling & looking a dream
Love it, this is when music was meaningful. The singers dressed nice and the words to the songs were decent. Also the harmony was great. Thank you for posting this.
Nostalgic & beautiful!
there was a reason those were the good old days,,,,wish i could go back,,,
the comments are old, so I am gonna comment here just to say that even today and even in the future this song will always be appreciated timelessly
One of the best vocal group records of all time.
One of the GREATEST of that era, when music still had melody. Once you take the melody out it is no longer music....
I just hung a pic of mike on my wll with a special note tha he wrote on the back for me. This wa the last time i saw him, before he passed away. I will cherish that picture ...And the memory of the incredible night we said our goodbye. Bittersweet!
No, it wasn't rap that killed it . It was the guitar that did it. Rock and Roll, the Beatles, etc ,came along and put and end to this type of singing with orchestral backings, and all the Tin Pan Alley songwriters of the day just faded away
It is a great song and these guys do a great job singing it.
In 1963, single performers or groups, with number one hits, performed at after prom parties. Can you believe that? All white North Allegheny High School, north of Pittsburgh, booked the Platters for our after prom party. A higher power in the district nixed the all black group coming to the school and another group was booked to perform. It was the Duprees. The original four guys seen this video, are who we watched, listened to and danced to. With my memory fading, I believe it was May, maybe June of 1963. Fifty three years ago. WOW.
Just great. The original Dupress. Jersey City boys.
My condolences on your loss. When my parents were married in 1953, only the instrumental version of this song was available, but my Mom always referred to it as their wedding song. I made sure the DJ at my Dad's 80th birthday party had the song…ands he told the world in general that it was not the same version to which they danced on the night they were wed. - Dr Joey
This was the group as I remember them. The one and only. Not the current groups that try to act like they are the originals. Don't represent yourself as an original group if you don't have original members
Absolute classic!
Recorded in July, 1962, the Duprees were from Jersey City, NJ. Joey Canzano (i.e. Vann) was the lead singer and one of the very best. This is a remake of a Jo Stafford hit from 1962. The flip side of the record was Take Me As I Am. Joey Vann died at age 41 in 1984.
A nice fall evening in Central Jersey parked alongside the canal running the kength of the Black Horse Pike. Sandy in my arms with this particular song playing on the radio. Oh what a night shouldv'e been the next disk to be played as it sure was one I'll never forget.
Remembering Mike Kelly on this the 2nd anniversary of his passing.
April 19, 1944 - August 7, 2012
We will never forget you.
A classic and beautiful song
Thank God we have those memories happy 2011 extended family:)
love this
The voice you hear is original lead vocalist Joey Van . The person in the video is Mike Kelly lip-sinking to Joey Vans record with the Duprees hit, You Belong To Me. Mike was not very happy about it at the time as well. Tommy P
thank you tomi i knew lip-sinking was involved thought it was mikes real voice.
As I have noted, you Tommy are a wonderful continuance of the marvelous group, the Duprees.
Thank you, Tommy. We've thoroughly enjoyed your recent performances. On which songs can we hear Mike Kelly's lead voice?
My Love My Love, Let them talk
Mike Kelly was a great singer!
I almost thought the singer was a younger version of you, Tommy! He lifts his right eye brow just like you do!
Beautiful 😢👏💖💖💖💖💖💖👍
BEST DOO WOP TUNE OF ALL TIME !!! EVER !!!!! NONE BETTER 5 GOLD STARS
Anyone that does not like this Song, and the Words, are Crazy. I Love This Song. the words You Belong to Me, never made me unhappy, I loved it when My Late, Fiance, said that. i was so thrilled that we belonged to each other. People just don't get the meaning, it is so nice, not sexist, or anything demeaning. GIGI
Mike Kelly - April 19, 1944 - August 7, 2012. The Best!

+Michael Leite I was, not to happy at being so old now, but loved that time, was so safe and memorable,,,I remember all the words to the songs of the 50s and 60s,,,,x
Great to see the original Duprees. Much better than the present group.
you belong to me is the best song ever ..... so beautifuly song and written :)
You Belong To Me
Duprees
See the pyramids along the Nile
Watch the sun rise on a tropic isle
Just remember, darling, all the while
You belong to me.
See the marketplace in old Algiers
Send me photographs and souvenirs
But remember when a dream appears
You belong to me.
I'll be so alone without you
Maybe you'll be lonesome too---and blue
Fly the ocean in a silver plane
Watch the jungle when it's wet with rain
Just remember till you're home again
You belong to me

Beautiful!!
When love was love and you worked hard to win the heart and not the ass so much..When you had to go meet the parents and big brother just to go to the movies..im so glad that i lived thru those "wonder years" and so sad that you guys will never know what its like..life is good !!
Can't get much better than this, wonderfull old time music, Mom&Pop era but 'timeless'
...a lot of GI's were motivated by tunes such as this.
Joey Vann, their lead singer, sang in my club in 1983....Mr. Flynns Pub, Sayreville,NJ...what a nite...he died in 1984...very sad RIP Joey
He never lost that voice. It was unique and distinctive.
Joey Van was GREAT but Mike Kelly is MAGICAL in this rendition of a beautiful song. His smile and voice lifted me, wife to a time in a way that few great artist and talented singers have been able to do.
that guy has a magical voice. looks like he's singing to a chick he's got a big crush on and she's in a trance
Oldies Rule Forever! G
Met my girl at my high school locker, i needed a date for the valentines ball, i was 16 and so was she... that was in 79, we are still together, next year will be 30 yrs married our song is Unchained Melody by the Righteous Brothers (WAY BEFORE) the movie Ghost came out... This music set the stage for the 60's and 70's back when musicians had talent and guitars/drums/bass not computer loops!!!
WHAT BEUTIFUL MUSIC...TAKES YOU TO ANOTHER PLACE AND TIME .LIKE THE WIZARD OF OZ.NEVER WILL GET OLD FOR ALL US YOUNG AT HEART..HEHA..GUS .
Love this song...I was SO born in the wrong era...
полностью с тобой согласен.

Ну, дружище, это уже твои проблемы.
Ramson Cole feel the same...
i hear you i wish i could go back
Thanks to Irrational Games for having introduced this song to today's gamers
Great recording. Pop music with the Glen Miller sound. Kinda like doo wop meets big band. I like it. In fact, I played it on a big band radio show one time, because it fit the format and I thought it might bring back memories.
@LaffsOnTheHarbor ABSOLUTELY!!!! Your dad was and is still very popular. He was very handsome with a tremendous voice. Love this video and watch it as much as possible.
I love this song so much - I listen to it everyday.
If any of you really want to know about the TRUTH and HISTORY of the ORIGINAL Duprees, ask and original DUPREE or wait for the book.
Joel Kelly - (mike's son)
Where's the book? I've been waiting for it.
A great cover of a wonderful old song.
I just found all these 'mouldy goldies' yesterday. Talk about memories! I grew up in the 50's and 60's and it was the best music - ever!!! It was an era when the "Artists" actually sang; without props and all the other 'distractions' of today's performances and nothing today can match the beautiful harmonies of that era!
Wouldn't it be great if we hear good music like this again? Thanks for sharing, here's hoping you and your loved ones will have a wonderful Christmas.
I love this song so much. The music and lyrics are so beautiful. Absolute perfection.
My goodness, that was a treat for both eyes and ears.
This is the music that I was very fortunate to grow up with. Life had problems back then but nothing like we have to deal with today. I wish all young people could have had that environment to be raised in.
HEY BETTY. remember this was our song, in 1964.
I love this song very much. Simple lyrics with lovely music.
@emmyhizer . I hear ya.. I'm so so sorry for your loss. the memories you must have when you play this song. It must be very hard to play... God bless you.... I'm 52 and the 60/s was the top music for me, Not the garbage of today..
Nice watching videos of the olden times
