- Every month, we will be sharing one of our favorite Anchor Moments with you. The Anchor Moment is a special time of sharing where someone briefly shares about a time in their life when their faith has truly anchored them, inspired them, or directed their decision-making.
Ruth McKeaney is a former Assistant Attorney General for the State of Virginia, and Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney. Ruth and her husband, Bob, are now raising their five children on their restored historic farm in Berwyn, PA. (Hillside Farm was featured in the books Stone Houses and Theology of Home and has been exhibited in multiple home tours.) They have flipped many historic homes over the last two decades and joyfully lived in each one of them. They have company more often than not in a given year.
As a constant host (to literally thousands of people over the years), Ruth goes to the heart of what makes one feel at home. Every day, her goal is to make her home a safe place so her family and her guests have the opportunity to have deeper needs met. Intentional homemaking, in its most idealized form, is creating a setting where vulnerability and honesty are valued and protected, where understanding and grace are fostered and love freely given.

I love Ruth, she has blessed me in so many ways and I’ve never met her.
Ruth has helped me to name my dream. ❤ I’d been praying, “Lord, I don’t know what I want! Help me to know what you have put in my heart!” But it was there, just buried. Watching this and Ruth’s other videos has been an answer to prayer and a challenge to pray the same! Lord, give me a vision beyond my resources! ❤🙏

This just showed up in my feed...I just discovered Ruth yesterday in an episode of Homeworthy. Amazing that she is is charismatic, her foundation in God, family...her UA-cam videos are a blessing......I will ask the same question posed to her. She has a wise uncle and her trust in God is evident.

I love your story! I watch it over and over and am blessed each time. May God continue to bless you and "Hungry for Home." My husband was a Baptist minister and over the years of his ministry I had so many opportunities to have wonderful Godly people in our home. I hope my hospitality blessed them as much as they blessed me and my family.
I ask for your book for Christmas and my husband got it for me. I happened upon this video just this evening. What a double blessing for me. And, how interesting!
