I like Méav's voice the best out of all the Celtic Woman's voices. She has a special talent, to be able to hit all of those high notes and still be pitch perfect and still have a nice, full, round, and beautiful sound.
Of the many singers I've heard during my lifetime, Meav is one of the VERY FEW with a voice that will bend as she commands it - she has a range that's out of this world. I'd like to see her back with CW but I do understand family has to come first.
Beautiful!! There is no other most beautiful, more talented, and lovely person than Méav Ni Mhaolchatha. She is always just as you see her here. Thank you for this lovely interview so many years ago, Méav. Thank you that you are still just sweet. Thank you for your never-ending work in writing the most lovely songs in the world. Your new solo cd "THE CALLING" is a reflection of your wonderful talent and the beauty of your gorgeous voice. What you see here is the real Méav you get!!!
There are performers who have me reaching for the 'Like' button as soon as I know that the video isn't technically messed up (like the ones shot with -UGH!- cellphones). Glorious Meav always has me wishing for a 'Worship' button.
I loved her in Celtic Woman, but I also love her solo albums! She is so amazingly talented and I am using her songs to practice my classical/Celtic voice since I have never had training! I love Meav's voice!!!! :)
I can sing in Gaelic, though often I don't know what the words mean. I pick up the lyrics from listening and watching, and trial and error. And I love it when I get the tingly feeling that means I got it. I'm shy, though, so that means that if someone passes me or walks into the room I break off midword and pretend I wasn't doing anything until they leave. 9_9. I think I would die if Celtic Woman somehow decided that they wanted me up there. I love these women! I wonder if they ever get scared
I've watched this video over and over, mainly just to listen to her talk! Irish accents are sooo cool, but this interview is great too. Meav has always been my favorite everything.
+Charles Blount I've played the few initial seconds of the wideo some 7 times to learn her name. Worth remebering as I love that bunch of Celtic Women, together with their entourage and everything.
You are one of the five most Angelic voices i ever had the pleasure to listen to. Liked it so much I was compelled to buy your CD and also the video! Hope Iwill hear these voices when I'll pass on!
To me, Meav and Lisa were the core of Celtic Woman. Without them, a lot of the magic is just gone. I mean, they are still amazing compared to most singing groups. But, I'm sorry - Meav and Lisa brought the fire. Now it's just smoking embers.
I wish she’d come back and sing with them again, they are coming to MD this December but its not the same without any of the original members ❤, she is my favorite ❤️
Unless they were content to just reprise past work, arranging the music for a Celtic Woman Supergroup would be a huge undertaking. I've no doubt that David Downes could do it, but it would be a bigger job than he's probably got time for. Then there's the lawyer stuff. The ladies who have left CW probably have contracts with other companies by now, so there would be licenses to negotiate.
She is so amazing and her name is beatiful... if only I was from Ireland. I do hope to move there someday... (please don't think me strange, celtic heritage runs thickly thru my veins I think I was Irish in a past life ;)
We'll love and support Meav, whatever she does, but her leaving CW hurts. Fortunately, David Downes has provided us with Lynn Hilary, who has met the challenge of entering the tour in progress. What a fantastic procurer of talent he is!
Nee-WEL-cha-ha with a ch as in Scottish Loch. but less emphasized and not guttural. Ní Mhaolchatha is shortened from Iníon Uí Mhaolchatha, meaning daughter of Ó Maolchatha. You can hear her say it in the clip.
@irishmusicalgurl1216 no cuz they got didree as a sub cuz right after this preformance,in one of the shows it says meav will not be preformingg because she is having a baby so didree took the place
actually, it's probably because she's from a different part of ireland. If you notice, english people also have stronger or weaker accents depending on where and who they live around.
I personally feel that Orla was the best. They all are lovely, don't get me wrong. Though with the new ladies, the sound just isn't quite right and doesn't have that fire that someone else said that the original women brought.
@ImaginaryNightshade Okay thanks :) I'm not really used to the Irish accent to tell you the truth, much more with the British and the American ones. (I'm French)
wow, how did you find that out? I looked and looked and couldn't find anything lol. thanks! I knew she was young since she just had her first child. But anyway, I always thought Mairead looked the oldest.
She has the most English-y accent; her Irish lilt isn't as strong as, say, Orla's.....it's just kind of interesting how they're all Irish, but their accents are all slightly different.

She was my favorite too! I miss her!
Méav - a beautiful singer with a voice like silk.
There are performers who have me reaching for the 'Like' button as soon as I know that the video isn't technically messed up (like the ones shot with -UGH!- cellphones). Glorious Meav always has me wishing for a 'Worship' button.
So great you are, my dear, I miss you so much. The CW never will be the same without your lovely voice. Respectfully from Lisbon 🇵🇹👏💐

i just LOVE how high she can sing!!!
Absolutely crazy about this Celtic woman !!!!
She’s the best
Thumbs up if you came here just to learn how to pronounce her name.
Charles Blount True.
+Charles Blount I've played the few initial seconds of the wideo some 7 times to learn her name. Worth remebering as I love that bunch of Celtic Women, together with their entourage and everything.
Her name is very easy. Look at is and sound it out.
Exactly
Me
Meav is one of angels from Celtic Woman. I can't decide which one is my favorite. as of now, I luv them all
a voice from heaven!
By far the best vocalist CW has. I'll miss her on this tour (Tulsa, 28 June).
she's an angel...
You are one of the five most Angelic voices i ever had the pleasure to listen to. Liked it so much I was compelled to buy your CD and also the video! Hope Iwill hear these voices when I'll pass on!
such a beautiful voice!
COME BACK PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!
To me, Meav and Lisa were the core of Celtic Woman. Without them, a lot of the magic is just gone. I mean, they are still amazing compared to most singing groups. But, I'm sorry - Meav and Lisa brought the fire. Now it's just smoking embers.
meav has a incredible grace
I've listened to it 5 times, and I'm not even close!
I want her she is a goddess
I wish she’d come back and sing with them again, they are coming to MD this December but its not the same without any of the original members ❤, she is my favorite ❤️

She was just in TN. I missed it, but I will make sure I see her the next time she tours the USA.
She will be having 5 concerts on the East Coast in NY and New Hampshire!
wow.......... she's pretty. :)
I am so sad that I wasn't able to see her last night but I still loved seeing Celtic Woman
Her name is like jevels flow over your tongue....
Thank you

I always wondered how her last name was pronounced.
her dresses are always the best
She has THE COOLEST name I have ever heard. Its so pretty!
Meav ni hwellcaha. Nailed it.

shes kinda hot she dose'nt need to move she uses her facial expressions and amazing voice to make the song work
She is so amazing and her name is beatiful... if only I was from Ireland. I do hope to move there someday... (please don't think me strange, celtic heritage runs thickly thru my veins I think I was Irish in a past life ;)
Pretty? She's *gorgeous!*
she i my second favorite, right behind Mairead
@tennismon its jesu joy of man's desiring.its a beautiful song. :)
I see. Thanks!
Minha preferida,!1º pena que ela saiu do grupo
It's better that she pursued a solo career. She deserves her own spotlight.
Celtic Woman should do a reunion tour. Like bring every one back that left and go on tour.
Yeah, it is :)
@sunstorm298 Yes she did.
"she mov'd thro' the fair"
We'll love and support Meav, whatever she does, but her leaving CW hurts. Fortunately, David Downes has provided us with Lynn Hilary, who has met the challenge of entering the tour in progress. What a fantastic procurer of talent he is!

I see! Thanks! it was also sang at slane castle right? But not on the CD
Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring by Bach from the BWV 147 cantata.
@irishmusicalgurl1216 no cuz they got didree as a sub cuz right after this preformance,in one of the shows it says meav will not be preformingg because she is having a baby so didree took the place
Those 4 people disliked, doesn't believe in angels ...
actually, it's probably because she's from a different part of ireland. If you notice, english people also have stronger or weaker accents depending on where and who they live around.
She Moved Thru the Fair. Unless I'm mistaken ^^.
I personally feel that Orla was the best. They all are lovely, don't get me wrong. Though with the new ladies, the sound just isn't quite right and doesn't have that fire that someone else said that the original women brought.
@irishmusicalgurl1216 hehe sorry i dont no how to spell it hahaha but i no her last name is shannon
@matthewthomasmovies i no that but what is it i have tryed to find out as long as i can!!
Does anyone know why Meav left Celtic Woman? :( She was my favorite.
She left us! She left us!
@ImaginaryNightshade Okay thanks :) I'm not really used to the Irish accent to tell you the truth, much more with the British and the American ones. (I'm French)
Listen to the way she says "studying law at the time" or "Ireland." VERY Irish.
wow, how did you find that out? I looked and looked and couldn't find anything lol. thanks! I knew she was young since she just had her first child. But anyway, I always thought Mairead looked the oldest.
@Hammotastic i would really like to know too! i'm hunting it down! lol
@raindropstellastory i know for real!
What's the song at 4:44?
"she mov'd thro the fair".
What's the song that she's singing at 1:50? It's beautiful, but I can't figure it out.
What is that first song she is singing? Its really good. Any help appreciated.
It’s called She moved through the fair! Hope you found it sooner than this but just in case 😅
she's right those dresses DO look hard to walk in..
Illuminating and interesting, but i still want to meet you
What song is it at 1:15?? Please! I would love to know :D
Julie Kanstrup through the fair
what is the name of the first song in this video??
Kristina Ziakova throu' the fair
Why did she leave???
whar ded she go
funny, because I thought the other way around!!
She has the most English-y accent; her Irish lilt isn't as strong as, say, Orla's.....it's just kind of interesting how they're all Irish, but their accents are all slightly different.
Does Ni have a meaning?? Is it her middle name or is it part of her last name similar to de Leon in Spanish??
How to pronounce her last name???
Favorite CW singer.I adore her.I feel no connection with present CW team.
yep. its the female equivalent of de Brún or Ó Súilleabháin
She moved through the fair I believe
meiv ni melkhaha?
Her name is soo weird though, I thought irish had names like O grady and O'connor, or murphy
how old is she? just outta intrest
She kinda pronounces the 'r' like an American! It's funny I think, because the rest sounds very British/Irish.
