As much as I'm all for being patient with learners and giving them space, if I was in the black Fiesta's shoes at the start there, I would have tooted the horn - it's an appropriate use, as it serves a purpose of making someone aware of your presence and might have stopped them from pulling out into you. However, the Fiesta also seemed to be going at a fair rate, so it would also have helped if they actually braked a bit as well as using the horn.

Good for you. You made plenty of mistakes, but so did everyone else with 10 hours or so under their belts. I think the major 'problem' was excessive optimism about being test-ready so early. You clearly have some skill if you can pass after 20 hours.
I passed my test a few weeks ago after 60+ hours of practice and watching your brilliant videos. Not everyone will agree, but there should be a minimum number of hours (at least 20) you should accumulate before you are sent for a test, regardless of natural skill. You're not riding push bikes, you're moving around 1-2 tons of metal at considerable speed. I once asked my instructor for a test after about 8-9 lessons and he said something along the lines of "you're getting better but your experience is still quite low and it would be pointless to send you for a test". So I decided to have extra lessons at night. Driving at night is a whole new experience and I'm glad I had those extra lessons, because I passed first time.
Why should someone have to take a minimum number of lessons if they are confident and safe behind the wheels earlier than others? Do you keep using stabilisers on your bike once you can ride it?
I totally agree. Yes you may be confident and safe at driving the car however I would say that less than 20 hours is not enough road experience to deal with more complex situations that will arise and its not worth putting yourself and others at such high risk with potential fatal consequences
In nsw Australia you need a minimum of 120 hours with 20 of those hours being night time driving. I think it’s good to have a minimum requirement however probably something a little less extreme as this.

Give her a break, she's only had 10 lessons, not everybody learns quick and these lessons aren't a one size fits all procedure. Some pass later than others and end up being very good drivers, some pass quick and are a menace on the road. She's just inexperienced, she'll do fine.
“...she’s only had 10 lessons...” exactly the point people are making, it’s ideally not the point where you should be thinking about tests when you’re new to cars. I can bet that most people that were saying she was a danger aren’t doing so out of malice or ridicule, pointing out flaws doesn’t mean you dislike someone and indeed often means they want you to improve.
@@fetchstixRHD Well, yeah, i imagine after that mock driving test she got a reality check and realised she was nowhere near test ready or able to drive properly. But we all realise that so way add salt to the wounds? Also, think you underestimate the sheer, unrelentless nastiness that is youtube comments.
Blue Sera Films: “...so [why] add salt to the wounds?” I don’t think that’s the right way to look at it. Yes maybe it might hurt to read that you didn’t do well, but most people aren’t commenting to hurt her feelings or put her down. Don’t forget that humans are often unrealistically optimistic at times too, many people have gone for driving tests at a time where they are far from ready (although the fact that she’s been filmed while taking a mock practical suggests that she’s more open to feedback for improvement than most). “...think you underestimate the sheer, unrelentless nastiness that is youtube comments” I can’t speak as to whether this comment section is moderated, but there are about 350 comments on this video, it’s not too difficult to browse through all of them. The worst of them I’ve seen are saying (paraphrasing) that it’s scary that she passed her actual driving test or that she shouldn’t be on the roads (one of which I replied to while I was watching the video beforehand), but those aren’t frequent. The majority of comments I’ve seen either are commenting why she wasn’t ready from the video and a few are giving encouragement to keep working on her driving. Yes comment sections online can be nasty (a consequence of a platform where you can openly comment and especially when it’s about emotionally charged topics) but here it isn’t too terrible. I’m willing to bet that most people who watch this channel do so to learn about driving and it’s niche enough to escape general conflicts that arise elsewhere.
@@fetchstixRHD While I accept that YOU may not have had any negative intentions in criticising her performance here, I don't think you can speak for everyone else. A lot of the comments on here go beyond general critiquing and are downright nasty. When somebody comments, 'lol 10 hours, joker I was driving better after 5 hours' or 'she can't drive at all she's terrible' that's not critiquing, that's a bunch of insulting adjectives.
wow. she's a million times better than i was after 10 hours, but yeh she should definitely withdraw from her test. She is not safe to be on the road alone at the moment, but she will certainly get there!
This was quite interesting. You've had not really any people had dangerous faults before. Although it was bad, I'm glad she passed and I had the similar kind of worry on my first lesson. Also another instructor, Pin Binning on dgn driving school UA-cam, had a customer like this. This helped know more about dangerous faults. Great video Chris 🙂. @@lunaa8431Yes it's a serious fault. You must make sure to drive at the speed limits if the conditions allow and if the road is cleat as it frustrates other drivers if you are too much below the speed limits and there's the risk of overtaking !!
There are so many serious mistakes here that she must have been terribly nervous. She can't have been anywhere near this bad on a normal day for her to think she could do a mock test.
She was obviously delusional. This is probaly some of the worst driving I have ever seen. She needs 20 or 30 more hours to even be close to pass her test
Not necessarily, provided she’s actually improved. The fact that she drove at that point once doesn’t mean that she’s guaranteed to do so permanently(!)
This does not matter anymore because she has passed now so congratulations to her. However judging from the mock test, she knows how to drive but she is clearly not ready for a test and she is dangerous as well but she was a lot better than me in ten hours. What can I say? She has passed and she probably do not care what people are saying about this video.
Tbh my friend got a clean sheet absolutely no faults after 9 hours but I believe that passing the test doesn't mean you are the perfect driver I think that comes down to experience.

Heart was in my mouth when she went to move off, and a few other times too. 😬 How can your nerves handle being in that car? 😂
She's a wee sweetheart, but definitely needs a lot more practice, or perhaps an automatic car.
Passed with no faults recently. Still using P plates. I had a learner drift into my lane today. Probably looked at my P plates and got distracted. Never know but instructor steered away before they hit my car. Scary on the road even when passed
4:47 - Not the best place to stall! She seemed to stay fairly calm which is good.
Yeah i throw a fit if i accidentally stall and i only have a couple more hours on her lol! I shout at the car (i called it eric) and my instructor is torn between thinking im nuts or hilarious! Usually goes like this " oh come on eric why u stalling, dont u love me anymore! Please eric we got this buddy!" I know im truly nuts!
And the lady still aspired to take a driving test while she was still on the learning curve.
I don't know why the instructor would allow someone to go to a test if they're not ready
They get more money like that
@@RP-qz1mz Ye maybe but if that is happening that person shouldn't be an instructor, as she clearly isn't near ready
@@RP-qz1mz Not really? Its the opposite. An instructor who wants more money would try to make his/her students learn for longer, so the student gets more lessons and the instructor gets paid more.
@@FriendlyNeighbourhoodSpidey it kinds of a 'i told you so' method into forcing people to even spend more money with them so people end up paranoid and wont book another test for months and months
She passed
I'd rather take the bus when Alexis is driving the car.
I'd rather walk
“...think you underestimate the sheer, unrelentless nastiness that is youtube comments”
I can’t speak as to whether this comment section is moderated, but there are about 350 comments on this video, it’s not too difficult to browse through all of them.
8:06 "Alexis changes from first gear... to first gear!"
That made me chuckle quite a bit lol
“Im like a normal driver now” .....
I PASSED TODAY W TWO MINORS!
Just wanted to say your videos helped me out a bunch, very very thankful!❤️
Hi! Congratulations on passing your driving test. Great news and two faults is brilliant. Keep up the safe driving and enjoy it :)
wow. she's a million times better than i was after 10 hours, but yeh she should definitely withdraw from her test. She is not safe to be on the road alone at the moment, but she will certainly get there!
She has already passed not long after this mock test lol! Did u watch the video till the end?
Today I passed with 5 minors. Thanks for everybody who give advices.
Believe me you will feel that the test time is too short.
Hi! Congratulations on passing your driving test. Keep up the safe driving and see you on the road :)
Good luck with your next person mock test
The person honked their horn when she was figuring out how to recover from a stall because the air flow and vibrations from the horn helps stimulate the pistons in the engine and give the car more energy to move off 😊 how considerate of them ♥
Chris, i like how u remaining calm and not making her feel stupid and nervous, great job mate.👍🏽💯👏🏼
Hi! Thanks for watching :)
Good job Alexis, you can only learn from your mistakes!
Thank you Alexis for doing this for us! :)
21:14 the speed limits was 40mph and she was driving at 23mph. Wasn't that a serious fault???
Edit: got the answer after 6 mins! Thanks Chris😄
Was it a serious fault?
@@lunaa8431Yes it's a serious fault. You must make sure to drive at the speed limits if the conditions allow and if the road is cleat as it frustrates other drivers if you are too much below the speed limits and there's the risk of overtaking !!
@@na-up6gs oh ok, thank you for responding :)
She's was to slow to move off
After checking and it's clear no need to look down to see the gears if u do make sure u check again all round
Aww. Thank God she passed! Made up for you Alexis!!
@@brandonstevens5628 from Brandon to Brandon, i agree
Hi Chris thank for this well-timed video and the 100 others I've watched aha, I just passed my driving test today with 2 minors so happy.
Hi! Congratulations on passing your driving test. 2 faults is superb. Keep up the safe driving and enjoy it 🙂
holy road hazard
I see that confidence is everything!!!!!!!
She passed. That's scary
kat Y looks like its easy to pass in uk
@King Pins no it isn't she is a disaster waiting to happen
Not necessarily, provided she’s actually improved. The fact that she drove at that point once doesn’t mean that she’s guaranteed to do so permanently(!)
kat Y , indeed it is very scary
She had 10more hours and obviously studied and worked on the notes from this video tho, thats why instructors do mock tests.
She's done really well, and I'm v. impressed with the hill start!!!
??????
i’m getting more of these videos in my recommended now that i’ve actually passed, whereas before i’d never get any.
This does not matter anymore because she has passed now so congratulations to her. However judging from the mock test, she knows how to drive but she is clearly not ready for a test and she is dangerous as well but she was a lot better than me in ten hours. What can I say? She has passed and she probably do not care what people are saying about this video.
True! Totally agree.
I'd love to have Chris as my examiner! He's Soo helpful and nice. :)
Recently passed but still watching your videos 😆
Hi! Thanks for watching 🙂
My test is booked for 8th October Ur vids really help me prepare properly thanks for the content man!
Good luck on your test! :)
Mines on the same exact day ! Good luck
Same to u goodluck!
10 hours and thinks she is a regular driver, doesnt even know what shes doing.
I think it took me 10 hours to get comfortable driving and not be a nervous wreck behind the wheel. Was still far away from being competent.
I passed my test today with only 2 minions. I learned from your amazing videos. Thanks for helping me out.
minions ?
You are a highly skilled instructor!
Thanks very much. Just doing my job :)
she should just get a automatic
Thanks to my instructor and all the helpful videos on this channel I passed first time.
Hi! Congratulations on passing your driving test. Really pleased you found the videos helpful. Keep up the safe driving and enjoy it 🙂
Woow this instructor is so calm I like the way he teaches well done mate 🤝❤️
only 10 hours and your going for a test ? you need more then 35. hours you need to learn more
kevni straus depends on the person. I did 10hrs and passed with 5 minors🤷🏽♀️
Tbh my friend got a clean sheet absolutely no faults after 9 hours but I believe that passing the test doesn't mean you are the perfect driver I think that comes down to experience.
Why? Is 35 a magical passing number? I have done 7 hours so far and Im driving around central London as easy as pie. Bare in mind I've been riding motorbikes for 2 years but still...
I just passed on my 3rd attempt on Friday 22nd Nov with 4 minors and I've been having lessons more or less every week since February. My advice would be not to rush it and just because youre nervous doesnt mean youre not ready because my leg was shaking like crazy the whole test.
I was the grand old age of 35 when I passed my test. I had 8 hours of lessons. I had no prior knowledge on how to drive. Most of it is common sense. I passed first time in December 2018
For the hours of driving she did well... nerves happen to everyone also she is FIYYYAAAAA🔥
Gotta be one of the greatest instructers I have ever seen.
just passed today , this has been my 4th test. i thank God almighty for my success and also ive watched your videos and they've helped a lot. thank you very much!!!
btw passed with 4 minors.....
just be calm, and thank God and just follow the rules to the core that's it..
good luck guys!!
and thanks chris
My test is in October and I’ve already done about 15 lessons 😂 always good to make sure you’re 100% ready
Hi! Good luck with your driving test 🙂
You commentary sounds like Gordon Ramsey, and it's brilliant!
she failed before she even started the test😭
I have been having driving lessons for three years and failed twice on practicals for stupid reasons could actually happen to any one 😭
Obviously there weren't for "stupid reasons" 3 years and still cant drive. Maybe you should stick to public transport
Meanwhile tests in Greece be like: Drive 10 blocks and park. Congratulations.
I passed a week ago, yet still cant stop watching!
Hi! Thanks for watching and congratulations on passing your driving test :)
This scared me so much 😂 glad she’s passed now though
I passed last week Friday with 3 minors. So happy
Congrats bud, drive safe now I booked mine on October 8th :)
wow, well done for passing your test. I thought she would have needed more lesson. well done again
I seriously don't think she passed the test after this mock test...i realised everyone that did this mock test always pass but with this girl its very unrealistic...She would need a lot more hours and more practice...I hope I'm wrong
@@woleakinde3888 she commented that she passed after 20 hours
