@84wide, One reason to place the knot between the flag clips is to avoid the current problem that I have. Our current setup has the not at the bottom and tied to the cleat. Somehow the rope got hooked into one of the flag clips so the flag cannot be lowered without cutting the know and taping the ends of the rope together to get it through the flag clip.
Decent video, but you glossed over the knot that you tied in the new halyard. Also, why position it between the flag clips to "hide" it when you could simply have the knot in the excess wrapped around the cleat?
Thank you for this video. I took down a flag in a small shopping center near me last week, went to order a new flag and realize that I need to replace the rope and the hooks too. Will be doing this under cover of darkness because it needs to be done and I do not know who owns the shopping center. Now I know!
Most helpful video I've seen. Thank you so much.🇺🇸🙏💝
Thank you so much for this video!! I knew it could not be that difficult to change my rope out!!
Thank you replacing the rope for our workplace flag pole. Simple easy video to follow. Again thqnkmyou
Thanks. I just replaced my halyard/flag today, following your directions, in 2022.

What do you do when you totally lose the rope because it breaks before you can change it out?
Climb the pole or rent a scissor lift.
Good video. Thanks! Just what I needed...

What is the safest way to install the rope if there is no existing rope present?
Get a very tall ladder or find a neighbor kid that likes to climb😂
Very helpful, thanks!

Yea the tape method doesn't work. Use a knot system
Which is going to last longer the plastic clips or plastic rope?
The nylon clips will deteriorate in sunlight before the rope.

I wish you would have let us know what kind of knot you used. Not a boy scout, just a mom that can't afford a bucket truck
It is a double Fisherman's Knot.
What is the thick ness of that Rope? Is it 8mm?
What type of rope material and thickness.

Wow, they make it sound so easy but when u r short, not so easy now is it.
I got a flag pole at home and my old one got broken
No old rope on it. I need to find a way to run a new rope through. Old one is gone. This should be fun.
Either take the flagpole down if it's in two pieces or you're going to have to get a 20 foot step ladder
@@chriscornwell2170 didn’t think of taking it down. Good idea actually. Thank you. Cheers!! 👍🍺
I am getting ready to install a two flag pole. How tall should the pole be for a house?
A flag that measures 3 feet by 5 feet needs at least a 15-foot pole. A 20 to 25 foot pole is appropriate for a flag that is 4 feet by 6 feet.
due most hardware stores carry those plastic hooks?
Sir, you could shown a bit more detail when demonstrating that knot.🤨
Stay helpful
Did anyone notice the flag got put on upside down

Plastic clips??? LOL ...and please learn how to properly cleat the line with a simple cleat hitch!
Plastic/nylon clips are normal for residential use.
😂 how do you get a rope on if the old rope broke? Pretty worthless video here.
