I find it hilarious that they became such good friends during this collaboration because Psy is young at heart and Yoongi has always been a middle aged man in a young body 😂
He’s incredible!! Also love that he was inspired by seeing a Queen Concert on tv in 1993. Definitely see the Freddie Mercury influence on his character and performances.
Suga himself was surprised that he was persuaded to do this choreography. Everyone knows that Suga is not a fan of dancing so this was a big surprise for the fans. 😂
Suga is a versatile musician. You've only seen him in "Haegeum" and "Agust D" and "Mic Drop". Next time, check out his MV "People Pt. 2" to see an entirely new side of him. He sings too. In his concert, he played the guitar while singing "Seesaw" and played the piano while singing "Life Goes On." Suga also produces for other artists. So when he came up with a song that he thought would fit Psy, he texted him and said he wanted to produce the song for Psy. But then Psy talked him into doing a feature on the song, and then into appearing in the MV too, and then, might as well do the choreography too 😂 And Suga thought he was only going to produce the song.
The very first time I heard this song, I didn't really like it much, but now, I love it. It's such a vibe and Yoongi is so funny. Let it never be said that Suga doesn't go all out when he wants to. He did so great on the production and the featuring as well. And yeah, PSY was the one who did Gangnam Style. He killed this song.
Haha! Yes, that is Psy (pronounced as "sigh") of the Gangnam Style song. The backstory of this song is so funny too because he first only asked SUGA to produce this song. Then he asked him to participate (hence the feature); then finally he asked SUGA to be part of the MV. SUGA said in one interview that he was tricked! It's a fun song, even with the way this song was rolled out for fans because we (ARMYs) were so clueless.
Just saw your mic drop reaction and I was pretty sure you’d go for danger, Run BTS, Tear, cyphers, daeng, ugh, etc. then I see this. 🤣 Suga is a producer who thinks of the performer when he creates music.
@@TripTipsPodcast as you get to know the team and their songs more, you’d realize they all do. We love them for their talent, their performance, but most importantly- for themselves. As you get to know them, you’ll realize how much they make your day happy by just watching them.
This song shows how Suga's versatility in making or producing music. Psy and Suga tandem in this song is, to me , unexpectedly amazing! One is kind of comedic and goofy and the other one is serious and unbothered person , but when they both collaborated this project, they are right for each other! It's tHe same thing when Suga collaborated with Halsey on his INTERLUDE and Halsey's newest LILITH featuring Suga , once again their chemistry is undeniably really good!
Suga’s versatility is unreal-to go from his Agust D, fire rapping, playing instrumentals, producing and then his acting and comedy. He has so many places in Haegeum for Army (he’s known as the cat,so he looks at the fish in the tank, runs with the tangerines, joker analogy, while he shoots his persona with the scar). He has layers is an understatement.
Psy is the first huge record setting K-pop artist with Gungnam Style. He set records even BTS hasn’t hit (Gugnam Style was one of UA-cam’s biggest viral hits I think like 5 billion views?). Suga is constantly writing music, he tries to write a song every day or so (not a full finished thing just a demo or lyrics or whatever he does about 200+ a year he said) his hard drive is a treasure trove of music. He wrote this and cold called Psy (who he didn’t know, although Psy is friends with others in BTS). He absolutely has a producers ear for knowing what fits what artist. Suga is also a closet comedian it’s a favorite thing the fandom loves. He’s produced many less serious silly songs but it’s not a frequent thing he takes it seriously production wise. There are songs like the theme song for the BTS show In the Soop, the funniest recording session I’ve seen yet he turned the chaos into a perfect song. Otsukare a ridiculous yet meaningful catchy comedy duet song with Jhope. Boys with Fun a ridiculous silly hype early BTS ding. So Mr Uber intense stab you with chopsticks has layers. Very complicated funny layers.
Really the song should be That's that. Suga wrote the song as well as producing it, and of course performing in the song. He writes and produces for other people besides BTS. Loved the MV great vibe. Suga is a real artist and very versatile.
Psy is BIG! Psy is not just Gangnam style music. Psy actually has hardcore music, rap and his lyrics and themes are a lot of times considered inappropriate for kpop. He has a few lighter songs too. I think you are stuck on kpop as in pop, happy, bop music but kpop is an industry like the American music industry and not a genre or music.
He didn’t feature but he did produce it: Eternal Sunshine by Epik High (produced by Suga) P.S. Epik High played a huge role in music in Korea. RM and Suga are big fans of their too this day.
If you watch the music videos from the official UA-cam channels of the artist or their labels, they usually have subtitles these days. That That on Psy's UA-cam channel has English subtitles.

@@TripTipsPodcast is that an Agust D joke? If so, rude!😹 (Go listen to the song, with Subs!) Most reactors turn on the English subtitles, usually called “subs”. Don’t you want to know what the lyrics are? Early BTS stuff did not have subs, but all the recent vids do. Also, BTS often released behind the scenes videos. (There are behind vids for That That). A channel called “Bangtan Subs” posted subbed versions of these when these “Bangtan Bombs” were not yet subbed, all the recent ones have subs. They are often funny, and show their process.
