MVs for both Daechwita and Haegeum depict Agust D's inner struggle.
In Daechwita, the blond king is his old self, full of anger and ambition. The rebel is his new self, who wants to be down to earth. (Remember that he was blond in "Agust D".)
In "Haegeum" I think the corrupt policeman represents the shackling negativity in society and himself. The gang leader is his desire to free himself from that.
Notice that in Daechwita (2020) the scars are still red and fresh. In Haegeum (2023), only the policeman has the scar and it's almost healed. So Agust D is on his way to healing himself from his inner battles.
Amygdala, the last song in the trilogy, will give you answers about the origin of the scar.
Agust D's songs are not always this intense. He has some gentle, easy-listening songs too, but the lyrics are always honest.
"People" is beloved by many. It talks candidly about people and life, a comfort song. I think you'll also enjoy this more gentle side of Agust D. "People Pt. 2" has an MV, no movie or story line, just a calm song about relationships.

@@emmamcintyre6997I think it is because they only seen BTS most popular songs and BTS did it on purpose a lot of the titled songs with music video is targeted to the mass general but if you think bts is only about pop, then you are missing a huge portion of what BTS is given BTS was supposed to be a only rapper group then changed to a hiphop group and eventually a kpop group but out of the 3 of the main writers, which is the 3 rappers, two of the rappers of BTS came from the underground hip hop scene they do not hold back in their solo songs (mainly the rappers own mixtapes)

As explained by Yoongi himself during his interview with RM, August -D is a person he made to be free on saying and writing whatever topic that he wanted to write. Being an idol has too many restrictions in writing. As a producer and songwriter, he is known for being raw and honest about his work. He said that whenever he is August-D, he is much more free than being SUGA because he write about almost everything including his own life struggles and traumas. August-D is also a persona of him in pain and anger. He also mentioned that along side writing this tracks, it's because he wanted to show to the haters of who is and what he is capable of (this is not his exact words but that's how i understand it.). But, he also said that as he grow older he is getting less angry and starting not to care to what people will say about him or his group. That's why when D-DAY (his solo album ) was produced he said that this is gonna be his last part of being August-D and it will take more time for him to bring it back because he already wrote about every little thing about him and his life and he doesn't have any story to tell anymore and he is already at peace.
In connection in his personas in Haegeum, ARMYS believed that the non scar August-D is already Min Yoongi himself. He killed the scar-faced policed August-D as a metaphor of him letting go of that persona.
You have to watch the MV of his song "Amygdala" another masterpiece from this album. Suga stated in his interview that the MVs for "Daechwita", "Haegeum" and "Amygdala" should be watched in order. You'll find out why when you watched "Amygdala". Amygdala is part of the brain that process and controls fears and traumatic events. Also hope you could react to his whole album, ther's no skip all of the tracks are so good. Yoongi's favourite track in the album is "Snooze" followed by Amygdala.

I am enjoying your journey. You guys are gonna find out that BTS isn't all "poppy". They have dark stuff as well. Aside from the obvious pop tracks, most of their music draws from real life and true feelings. There are songs that on the surface my sound poppy, but have deep and meaningful lyrics. They can disguise a song by producing a catchy beat, but the lyrics are the opposite. Their music is full of poetry and go against the "norms" of Korean society.
    THEIR LYRICS ARE EVERYTHING!
    I highly recommend the following...
    "Black Swan"
    "Louder Than Bombs"
"Go Go" (lyrics and beat are opposite)
    "Baepsae"
    "Spring Day"
    "Fake Love"
    "House of Cards"
You can throw a dart at over 300 BTS songs, you will land on something dark and or deep. 💜

The 3rd song is "Amygdala". I was fortunate to see this man live last month. The transition from "Haegeum" to "Daechwita" was stellar!!! The whole crowd turned red because of our ARMY Bombs. Everyone sang this song so loudly. It was one of the greatest nights of my life. I've never seen Agust D's energy on that level before. KING STATUS! 👑🔥

  • @blancanavarro8487

Daechwita was first and it was always going to be a trilogy according to Yoongi (Suga aka Agust D). He’s addressing his haters here as well as the two sides of him he admits having - the one who wants to be the king, the boss (rich, powerful) and the more humble one who only wants to create music. The second song, Haegeum, addresses the parts of society that are full of hypocrisy and the word Haegeum refers to both a traditional Korean string instrument (which you hear at the beginning and throughout) and the fight for liberating oneself. You can see him fighting himself yet again and beating the darker side of him as in Daechwita. The last song is Amygdala where he relives the painful memories he has tried to erase - his accident, his mother’s heart surgery and his father’s liver cancer diagnosis. He said all three should be watched in that order - Daechwita, Haegeum and Amygdala.
Sorry so winded!😂 hope it helped!

When he released his first solo mixtape years ago, I don’t think he had a trilogy in mind at the time. And back then he was addressing the haters and BTS were still finding their big success (there is no scar in the first mixtape vids). Then in his second mixtape, which was released around 2020, his experiences were that they had achieved more success than they could’ve dreamed of. And that in itself was scary to him, so Brittany is right in her assessment. Haeguem is the most recent song, and the first one you saw, so you guys are kind of starting from the end and working your way back. Having said all that, I really like Brittany as a reactor. No offense to my fellow ladies, but a lot of times there’s too much talk for me, or they talk about themselves and not the video. I recommend Amygdala, which is from the latest album.

I also think the mad king is his ego, as well as his former rage. When he's doing the slower rap during this song, he talks about having it all but wanting to be sure he keeps himself grounded.
'Interlude: Shadow' also gives insight into how he feels about their meteoric rise in popularity. It's a great song. It's a solo, but he is Suga on the solo (since it's part of a BTS album), rather than Agust D.

The blonde mad king in this video is the same Agust D that was in the Agust D video. This is what he has become since then. The black-haired Agust D kills him and then he eventually becomes powerful himself, a corrupt chief of police and a mob boss. Yoongi kills the mob boss. Yoongi's music talks about how he is a greedy person and that greed has become a leash, choking him. He is trying to destroy those dark sides of himself and free himself from that leash. BTS is flying high and Yoongi just wants to get his feet back on the ground before he crashes and burns.

You might be used to the bubblegum pop songs but those are typically just title tracks. Many of BTS’s tracks and albums have dark lyrics/themes/concepts. Rapline stuff goes the “hardest” if you’re interested, BTS’s early stuff is mostly rap/hiphop, and the members have a ton of solo stuff you haven’t seen. The hardest thing I’ve ever seen is RM’s Joke, but they do everything. If you want neo-soul, Latin pop whatever, they got it lol
Also I understand why you might think there are restrictions to that level in Korea, but SKorea is a democracy nothing like China or north korea (my god). They have a conservative culture and are more strict than Americans in some regards, we’re different and there are “taboo” things there that aren’t here, like tattoos and things of that nature🤣 but it’s not that different. BTS has been pushing the “boundaries” for years, in their music and in other ways. Jungkook has a full sleeve for example lol. So many things in Korea are technically frowned upon but it’s not that serious, they still have an entire generation of Koreans obsessed with fashion/pop culture/social media honestly🤣 They are not censoring their content on tiktok or anything. It’s more like they can do whatever they want but they typically don’t and wouldn’t want to due to the social implications, unlike the way we do here. There’s more emphasis on keeping the status quo and being accepted by others in Korea (like the beauty standards and the high education) which is a reflection of the nation’s history and how their ancestors had to behave to gain status.
I’d definitely suggest checking out an explanation video on this bc there’s a lot to it, it’s not about military enlistment.

But always with a purpose and never just for some random reason. Some newer reactors start with the pandemic-era music which was intentionally light and up beat to bring light during a difficult time and then they are supposed to see the older, harder, or even newer edgier music. His albums as Agust D: "Agust D"(2016), "D-2" (2020) and "D-day" (2023), all have 10 tracks on playlist. So to answer your question he put out album before going to military and it was in april and now he is ending his world tour and then he is going to military, we don't have a date yet.
So Deachwita was from D-2, and Haegum was from D-day, Agust D was from Agust D +I think this are dong you reacted to, so in theory you saw him at every point.
He has like 3 more MVs as Agust D, but he also has solo songs in BTS albums, like every BTS member.
His albums are great and every song is different. And Jhope albums are great to but a lot dependens on what vibe you like, bc this three for sure are very different from each other. So for me his rap style the best clicks with me, but like I said all depens on mood too.
Jin and Jhope are in military now, and Jin give us beautiful parting song "The astronaut" (made with Coldplay guys) before going, and Jhope put out album "Jack in the box" last year and song with his idol J.cole "On the street", directly before going in.

This song was released in spring 2020, daechwita is the traditional music played for the marching army or to announce the arrival of the king. This song was released first, and the other 2 in the series only recently. He plays more than one part in this video, and shows himself killing his tyrannical alter ego. The scars are evidence of his actual physical trauma that partly shaped his personality.
I dont think there is any relationship to his joining the military.
BTS is actually not a pop specialist, I expect the pop you have heard are the light songs made for the American public during covid. BTS actually have very deep messages in much of their music.

Amygdala is different from the other two but its connected but it shows what the scar actually means in the Agust D-verse. Amygdala is a lot more personal than the other two and u need to comfirm your youtube acc as more than 18 year old otherwise its impossible to watch the video cuz youtube won't let you do it, because it's a lot darker. Especially that its actual stuff he had to go through and not a fictional storyline with symbolism on real stuff like haegeum and daechwita

  • @serralinda73

Blond King AgustD has let the power of being at the top corrupt him into a psycho out of touch with reality. Peasant AgustD has the respect of the common people (and the king's courtiers) and he's been shit-talking about the king so he gets taken prisoner (blindfolded and tied up), and is going to be executed. But the executioner is also on Peasant AgustD's side, cuts him loose, gives him the gun. The song title, Daechwita, is sarcastically playing the "Here Comes the King!" music for the king but it's secretly been hailing Peasant AgustD as the new or "real" king - one who has seen the heights and is now back to being grounded and in touch.
In Haegeum, Gangster AgustD is stealing from the corrupt cop AgustD, trashing his local hideouts, and as we see at the end - Gangster AgustD has won over all of Cop AgustD's men as well. Again, it's about the establishment getting carried away or corrupted by power and the common people taking their power back, not listening to the rhetoric and bullshit being spouted all over the internet, starting to think for themselves again. Cop AgustD is supposed to protect people but instead he's just been exploiting them for his own greed, so Gangster AgustD gets rid of him.
Both MVs have a sort of Robin Hood plot to them but also a sort of warning about how power corrupts - King AgustD and Cop AgustD might not have been twisted people when they first started and they probably fought very hard to get to those top positions. Then they lost touch with their past and became corrupted.
Amygdala (the third song in the "series") is very different, about the emotional inner life and issues that AgustD dealt with in his own past, how those events shaped him and drove him and maybe still haunt him at times. How does he keep himself from changing from Peasant/Gangster AgustD into King/Cop AgustD, or can he come back from those heights to the regular guy with some tough history? Now, Suga/AgustD seems to have found some peace and happiness in his life, having found the door out of those dark memories and accepted that the past is done and he should move forward.

You kind of watched them out of order. Daechwita comes first. You have Emperor Suga with a scar, who has become drunk on his power and success and become a tyrant, and lower-class Suga, also with a scar who stages a coup and kills the part of himself that has gotten too big. Then you have Haegeum, where the previous lower-class Suga (now a corrupt policeman) has repeated the mistakes of the one before him and grown greedy. But then you have the Suga without a scar, who rises up and kills him again. But since he has no scar, the process won't be repeated, as Suga has healed from his traumas. That's where the third video comes in. Amygdala. It's the ending that takes you back to the beginning. I won't spoil more until you see it. But that's part of MY interpretation of the videos.

daechwita part of the first video of the agustd trilogy. for the explanation..before daechwita, there is another MV with the title song AGUSTD, there Suga has blonde hair, it's like Suga killed his old character who was dark, full of anger and emotional going to chapter 2 as Suga/Agustd who has released the anger inside him. it's better before entering the rabbit hole, watching a video explanation about BTS and its members is easier. because in the past, they were filled with hatred by various parties.

You need to watch Amygdala first because is the begging... it tells the story, how he got the scar, his past life history, and then you watch daechwchita ( the blond king is the same one that was in amygadala that couldn't scape the room, and he also represents a bunch of stuff like negativity, corruption, all the people that turned down on him, all the people that told him that he wouldn't be able to accomplish anything in life etc etc etc and he has a fresh scar) so a part of himself kills all of this so the scars gets a little bit better ( the agust d from the gang).
And then you watch heagum ( means freedom) , where you have the agust d from daechwita that survived ( the one from the gang) becoming a corrupt himself, with all the money etc ( he have the scar), and you have Suga ( without the scar) the same one that was in amygdala trying to save himself from becoming agust d, killing the last version of agust d, and with that he kills all the negativity that exists and become himself, all the trauma that he had couldn't be forgotten but he accepted it, so he achieved what it wanted ( freedom) and he has a double meaning because he tells people ( this is the new heagum, free yourself from all the negativity, all the corruption, live your life, be happy, work on your traumas and you be a better person, mic drop )

Agressive songs from agust d: D-day. Huh?, burn it, give it to me, never mind. But some of my favorite songs of his are: amygdala, snooze. People (not people pt 2 but that song is good too), strange, and first love. Some good rap line BTS songs that are more aggressive are: ugh!, the cyphers 1-4 (the live medly of the four is an amazing performance), tear, i also love ddang, you should check out RM's joke and persona videos and J-Hope's More and Arson. Okay so just to be clear here, BTS isn't a pop oriented group (i think thats the right word?) Like they have a lot of pop songs but there are a bunch of diverse songs in there, your sure to find your fav in at least one of their albums. Also i'd like to point out that almost none of BTS songs (that i know of ) talk about their military enlistment. So with that out of the way, can you guys react to each BTS members individual songs you guys can start with SUGA since you've been doing that for quite awhile now and then i recommend
RM (his song) = "STILL LIFE FT ANDERSON PAAK" : R&B
    Jin="MOON" : Ballad
J-HOPE= "DAYDREAM" and his newer songs like "ARSON":ROCK
JIMIN= "SERENDIPITY" and his newer songs "LIKE CRAZY" : Ballad, the weekend vibes.

You probably have only been exposed to BTS's pop side. Perhaps watching UGH live, the Boy in Luv mv, Outro Tear live at Wembley Stadium or the Not Today mv would show you BTS is way more diverse than being a pop group. A big part of their appeal is their diversity of genres.
