- Elaine Thompson-Herah rose to athletic fame when she copped the double Olympic sprint titles at the Rio 2016 Olympics winning both the 100m and 200m titles. She's currently ranked the 4th fastest woman in 100m and 5th fastest in 200m. However, since having success in track and field, Elaine has battled an ongoing achilles injury. Here she chronicles the highs and lows of the journey and we have some good fun in between.

She is. Yendi didn't bring it out you just won't see it by seeing her on TV or at the stadium it something you see when you meet her in person.

Exactly....I've seen her being this outspoken before
Elaine is so humble and that is the secret to her success.
Very humble girl. I know her from childhood and that's exactly who she is.
Well about Kobe, Muhammad Ali, Jordan, Lebron and Floyd Mayweather bc they were all cocky af and successful
@@jrod9729 and they all delivered results
@@camagueyana918 and that’s a lie! They were all cocky as hell when they came into the league before winning any damn thing. It took Lebron 5 yrs to win his first championship and cocky af
@@jrod9729 your tone makes it perfectly clear why you support her so much......like I said they all delivered by the time the rest of the world knew of them.
I don't think I've ever heard Elaine's voice before but this was wonderful. Really wonderful.
Exactly. Listening to Elaine and Shelly-Ann and Dina-Asher Smith and Gabby Thomas and Allyson Felix speak (all the "and"s are on purpose, LOL) is like a breath of fresh air, not because they are articulate, but also very composed and graceful. I LOATHE the ratchet-speak of some of these athletes and celebrities. Even those whom people fawn over because of their looks become real ugly when they open their mouths.
@@brotha_pedat Agree 100%
Elaine you have demonstrated that it is not how you start your race but how you finish. If anyone out there reading this comment and you are struggling don’t give up; continue to persevere.
I'm in the US and these beautiful Jamaican sisters just fill my heart with happiness! They are so intelligent, confident, humble, yet strong! I wish that some of the US runners would watch these interviews to see how to handle themselves! Excellent! Thanks for bringing this to us Yendi! Subscribed!
Agreed. However, look at Athing Mu, Sydney and Delilah. They carry themselves very well. I think I know which US runner you referring to..lol
@@panama8009 - Athing Mu is my girl, as is Sydney, but YOU KNOW WHO I SPEAK OF...SHE WHO MUST NOT BE NAMED! LMAO! I saw an interview with her and she was absolutely horrible! She needs a "fixer" to teach her how to act when she loses AND when she wins!
We must never judge a book by its cover, having a serious face dosen't means you are a bad person.I also have a serious face and people judge us but just get to know us and you'll be blown away by our personality.Elaine, you are amazing you did Jamaica proud, you go girl nuh listen to wah nobody waan fi sey bout yuh, just keep on climbing the ladder of success.THANK YOU YENDI FOR THIS INTERVIEW.
While I understand not judging a book by its cover, but people must understand that people naturally don't respond quickly to persons who seem stoic whereas a warm personality is more endearing and easier for people to respond positively to. Smile at the world and the world will smile back at you. That's it. However, she is the Double Olympic Champion twice around first woman ever to accomplish this.

I love how this interview brought out another side of Elaine. She has proven to be a very down to earth and jovial woman. God continue to bless her and her marriage.
These interviews let u understand the stories behind these athletes success 🙏
Couldn't understand half of what she was saying but I've always liked ET's form + her body looks perfectly proportionate to run a fast 100m.

Elaine this brought tears to my eyes.. we so often see a person's success but dont know the pain they go through.. Keep it up dear and i like the way u always mention God.. Keep humble.

It’s how fast Elaine took her shoes off and seh “mi ready” such a humble unproblematic human. ❤️❤️❤️❤️I’m from Manchester but not Banana Ground, due to how festive the celebration up there were when she won I had to find my self up there🤣🤣🤣🤣 lone pot cover knocking

God be with you Elaine. Wishing you a speedy recovery with that Foot.
A lot of people misjudged the book until they started reading it I knew many people misunderstood her because of the way she bring across her personality until they heard her story l like what I heard as long as God give you the health and strength keep doing what you doing you will reach your destination loads of love
God also gave her the gift to run. He gave us all gifts dancing, acting, sing, carpentry etc.
When I say Elaine Thompson is so discipline, I say it with the biggest admiration I could express. She puts the S in Self Discipline , she puts the D in Discipline. I love how she arises from the fast ash, like a Phoenix, out of “nowhere” with her dreams bigger than life, even from a poverty background, she remained humble, but so darn focus. Man I love this woman. Big ups to Yendi, my 2007 Miss Jamaica World, my dream girl 😝😜😍
Elaine has really blossomed and she expressed herself so well throughout this interview. Proud to see her growth and as always fantastic job Yendi. Love from 🇧🇧

The commentor said we had never heard about Elaine Thompson, which is not true, of course.

Yendi, the humbleness of this young lady and the how she is relating her story simply, is tearing me up. I like the life lesson she taught to all age groups, of the importance o following instruction and LISTENING.

She is really humble. Didn’t know too much about her until Tokyo. I wish you all the best Elaine. I went or Manchester high as well. Go girl.! Beautiful interview
Wow! This is so eye opening! I hope the people who are quick to criticize these athletes whenever they don’t perform well take note of the things Elaine has said about the hardship of an athletes life. I could never do what they do so I appreciate them showing up to represent our country! Elaine, you’re a ⭐️

Yendi said it perfect, we see all the medals etc but we don't get to know elaine!! and this interview was amazing I'm so intrigued to hear her story.
