One thing you need to do is if it is going to be sitting keep the tanks as full as you can it will prevent the sweating in the tanks that create water in the fuel
Glad you got the Creeper together finally and it's working out. Just sent you some Power Service Diesel treatment for Christmas and they said they delivered it today at the front door or on the front porch. Wasn't sure what to get you for Christmas, so got something practical I know you will, use. Merry Christmas Chris. Try and take it easy some Bud and get some rest. Seems like you are over doing it and wearing yourself out, especially since they were unsure what is wrong. I'm just hoping it's nothing serious and just fatigue. Have a great Christmas with your daughter, girlfriend, Yenko, and Jazzy.
What is the problem with low sulfur diesel? Rust and corrosion can form in lines and tanks from the aggressive chemicals found in ULSD. Low fuel lubricity causes wear or scarring in pumps and injectors. Sludge can build up inside tanks and result in plugged filters.Aug 11, 2017
Something to think about. That truck was built to run High Sulfer Diesel, not modern (crappier) ULSD. You lose lubricity running modern diesel. Might want to think about running a fuel additive.
Every injection system built pre 1997 should be adding a high quality lubricant to prevent wear but that had no bearing on his issue here that was water in the fuel likely caused by the aging ethanol. After it's been sitting about 3 months the ethanol in your fuel starts breaking down creating water.
Years ago, we used to mix kerosene with #2 furnace oil to stop gelling it does smell different. Furnace oil was quite a bit cheaper than premier diesel back int 70s and 80s. To be safe I would use that fuel to start brush fires.
You work so hard take a break I know it's hard I'm 71 still work full time but now and then my body tells me take a rest for a few days take care of yourself and take a break or at least don't work so many long hours
Fuel tanks sweat with temp changes and accumulate water over time. Thats why there are water catches in one or two spots through out the fuel systems on trucks. That way water can be drained off. Its usually best to keep the tanks full especially in the winter colder months the tanks will build up a frost inside and when it warms up that frost melts and becomes water inside the tanks. Thats likely where your water came from. And having been sitting about a year now the trucks old fuel may have a bit of a funky smell to it kinda like kerosine it'll still burn but being a freshly rebuilt engine you may not wanna run it lol
Does the kenworth have a fuel heater? Our Pete had an in tank fuel warmer that decided to dump a few gallons of coolant in the fuel. Luckily the 3406 cat started stumbling and I shut it off before any damage
The 2 times that you've told us that your hands were numb and not feeling good, you've been crawling under the Kenworth Truck. Maybe there's something on or under the truck that is causing the problem. Just a thought. Been praying for your good health and Merry Christmas, Brother.
Hello Chris get to Dr. Get your blood work done figure out whats going on. You should put fuel conditioner in truck and tractors combine today's fuel does not have the lubricant the older injector pumps needs. Have a good day.
Theres an additive called fuel power. You find it in truck stops. Its kinda pricey, but it takes care of water in fuel like no bodys buisness. I got bad fuel last winter (my own stupidity getting CHEAP fuel from a closing store, instantly realized and regretted as i pulled out the parking lot). Truck wouldnt start, dumped a whole bottle in let it sit for 30...fired up an ran like a top. Buddy told me about it an I took his word, and that made a believer out of me. Also go get second opinions, never hurts. Not saying your doc is bad, but maybe they missed something.

Can't keep your fuel clean that truck sat around for a long time with fuel in the tank and you'd be guaranteed because of the 10% ethanol that's in it that caused it to make water. Ethanol after it's been sitting any more than about 3 months starts to break back down and sugar
@@robertquast9684ethanol is 100% blended into every bit of diesel fuel you buy.
