Next-Level Dragon Fight (Minecraft Animation)

- Here’s my first attempt at a Minecraft Animation! This is a bit of a different style than my previous videos, but it’s a skill that I wanted to learn to help enhance future videos!
This short video is a part of my upcoming, longer video! I thought this could stand on its own, plus give you all a bit of a progress update.

You've shown that you can do anything with enough practice and dedication (which you most definitely have). I 100% do believe you could do this, but I also feel like it should be on another channel if you ever want to go down this route! To me, that would make the most sense, while giving people what they want on both sides. Overall, it's great and I see a fantastic foundation of what could be.
Thank you! I'm trying some stuff out, but since the longer video was delayed since I want animation to be included to enhance the storytelling, I thought this would be a fun update. Don't worry, the builds are coming :)
For the first animation it is insane. Just the music sometimes was kind of weird (high or low). Have you took the main character from the Internet or is it designed by yourself? I really like the design. I'm sorry if my english isn't that well. I'm still learning :D

Damn this is so so good!!! Great Job Shovel!! You could check out how different anime makes fights look super epic like :
adding a lot of smoke/wind to give an idea of how powerful each punch is
There's also sometimes a delay between the punch hitting the target and the smoke and knockback of the ennemy.
Some clever camera shaking can also convey a lot of power in fights

was this made in Blender? looks fire for a first attempt. I'm trying out Unreal 5 to make renders and animations but I'm nowhere near your skill 😅
It was, and I appreciate it! Blender definitely has a steep learning curve, I'm still very much a beginner myself. Practice makes perfect!

next time I would do procedural lighting with geometry nodes
Lighting or lightning? I'm intrigued on the lightning effects, I just haven't gotten that far yet. Still semi-new to animating

The only issue I have with this is that you can't feel the impacts of the fighting like you can in stuff like Dragonball, other than that great!

Real good video man only thing I would like to see is have the animations out of Minecraft builds like the fire from the dragon! But honestly so good man would love to see more!
Shovel, I think you already have personal branding as a builder, it would be better if you at least post more tutorial videos etc..
stick with building because ur soo talented in there i mean props to you this was such a good minecraft animation but if i were to be honest even if you did a good animation to me your building is just peak like its soo good
I appreciate the feedback! Ideally I would like to do both, but it is a lot to take on. Hopefully I can figure out a good way for the two to work together!
@@shovel241 how did u get the chroma key right with those effects? i remember downloading them from yt and i wasnt able to get the chroma key nicely
edit: actually i can see you faced some problems aswell, it was fast so i didnt notice

Hey shovel, I think it might be better if you were to make like the dragon fire and lightning like pixelated, might help a little with how it looks, not saying your bad cause your not but just an idea

I love it! but i reccomend better designs for the dragon and the person fighting him, bright colors are fun and amazing but you might need to tone it down :D

This is really good, but I wouldn't call it next level, Minecraft animation has really been bumped up, and this just kinda feels old. It's fantastic tho, I love your style

This looks epic! Although I feel the clash between minecraft and the lightning makes it kind of disconnected, probably just not my thing (I don't know if other people do that), but perhaps if you made the effects more minecrafty like maybe more pixelated? I suppose minecraft dungeons would be a good model for what I'm suggesting. Or just ignore me, your building ability is incredible :)
