    From the research I undertook for my Oxford thesis, 'SHARING IS THE KEY'. If we embrace Autonomous Vehicle (AV) sharing, then we can release a lot of existing parking space for other uses. If we continue with self ownership, then road congestion gets far worse and little parking space released. This will require a cultural shift from our current 'right of passage' to own our vehicle. A solution is to include AVs into Mobility as a Service (MaaS). Additionally, for active travellers, we need to continue the work on dynamic feedback from the AV to active travellers indicating the intentions of the AV.

      People hiding in education monopolies need to live in the real world and stop playing God in their virtual bubbles. If education "experts" really walked the talk, we would have a select few professors teaching most of the worldwide students autonomously at a fraction of the current extortion tuition rates
      .

      You go ahead and give up your right to self ownership of anything you want. I will keep mine.

      I always thought that one day, the government will own a brunt of the driverless cars. It will be like 24/7 transit, but no "schedules and routes". Just some boundaries for juristiction perhaps. This will also simplify the liability and insurance problems, not to mention standardization of both vehicles and road stuff. You can commute anywhere door to door, no long walks, stairs, complex tunnels, always AC and heated while you read or do pre-work, breakfast, whatever.

    What AI lack among other things is curiosity. Yes curiosity is a number 1 factor in the natural world. Curiosity drives us humans to explore to search to try something new to think a way of overcoming a hurtle, curiosity exist in all animals, let a dog free in a house and it will explore it all, it will learn every corner of the house and every good spot. Curiosity is driven by desires.

      It’s actually a very important issue. Hopefully this leads to electric/solar powered cars and if people don’t own as many cars that mean less cars being created which means every thing become way more eco friendly.

    The high death rate isn't surprising considering the lack of interest in traffic enforcement law enforcement is showing, especially in large cities. some things that could be done is utilization of drones to spot the erratic driver, updating the rules of the road as they are really dated , required dash cams to be in operation and any moving vehicle, placing cameras on all intersections prone to repeated accidents, past laws which allow police to interrogate the insurance company provided accelerometers and mandate their in vehicle installation if the ensure doesn't provide them, pass aggressive driving laws in the states that don't have them, require repassing the DMV test whenever you have an accident or get a ticket, increase fines for tailgating, and make traffic ticket fines proportionate to income like it is in Germany.

  • @circusboy90210

    No the real problem is in the United States we have some of the most driving education on the planet look at Germany were driver fatalities are extremely low it is not that you will be that cause of the accident is the lack of proper driver education.

      @yck3810 5 років тому +1

      @@jcm730 I see no problem there as if we are not dare to address the problem, how we going to solve the real deal. Its a very creative intro to let more people aware of what is happening in the real world and the reason behind the number. Yes, you know that and I knew that people die in cars. But if you stopped watching because of a negative intro. Then it's like saying that you refuse to learn or hear something new because it sounds negative or maybe it doesn't present in the way you like it or expected it.

    Lidar cannot see through things. They don't know how to look there will be it with .Dead on top of that I self pride driving car does not Know how to break the law in order to do the right thing and save human lives .Also who was a robot to decide if the occupants live or die based on certain circumstances? Nobody human being should always be in control the vehicle to determine the fate of its occupants not a robot

    Has anyone noticed that these 'progressive' people can justify doing all the wrong things for all the right reasons and make it sound so good for you. Consider Microsoft and windows operating system. Microsoft is probably as competent as any company out there programming a computer. Notice, however, how many updates you get from Microsoft on Windows. These are all program error fixes, bugs, and correcting all manner of other problems they overlooked or mistakes found. I personally do not want to have to deal with a killing machine out there on the road that is no more competent or reliable than this .

    What's my car doing right now? Exactly what is supposed to be doing right now waiting for me is owner to take it somewhere in need OB. With my possessions in it and my things ready for me to use any time I need. It is also ready to take me chasing rainbows with my children or how something or for a nice leisurely drive-in the country randomly driving around for whatever reason. Self driving cars are the worst idea ever

    It will be more efficient and safe than any sistem with a human driver, so will save time and money
    But time we will save more because on long term all of us one by one will lose our jobs in in the end our value for society
    So Univers25 is our destiny because we want more with less risk, but always is a risk involved even if is not perceptible on short term

    No you are not going to dictate to us what we are going to do we are going to continue to own our own automobiles and be able to leave and come whenever we see fit without having to pay somebody to operate a vehicle for us. Self driving cars are the worst idea .Dan it is not Barrington area you would have to evacuate all your belongings out of the vehicle every time you take a. What about chasing rainbows? What about going camping? What about White House hunting? There is so many reasons why a person should always own and operate their own vehicle. Your ideas faulty and very UN American

      There's actually something you seem to be looking over when it ces to the benefits of self driving cars; the needs of people with disabilities. Self driving cars can actually help people who have a disability that interferes or stops them from being able to drive (examples of such disability includes epilepsy, paralysis, blindness, chronic illness, and.more) Self driving cars would give them freedom, Independence and safety.
