I’m just wondering about this world nowadays where EVERYTHING is captured and made into a worldwide clip.
There’s no private tzniyos nowadays. The idea of going quietly with G-d has been eroded. This could’ve put into newspapers to make it less public.

It is not befitting to say the Rebbe is wrong. Once you hear "seforim hakedoshim" then you are talking madreigos. His father zt"l zy"a was also makpid on this inyan. There can be many reasons, but the Rebbe is saying this allows them to observe the mitzvah of tefillin the best way. No contradiction.

The rashba says you put tephylin on hat that you are wearing, typical hasidic custon of stressing the tafal and ignoring the ikar. He does seem like a holy man though!

He is a very serious rabbi. If they went to him, don’t expect a Rashba hakodosh ruling. He understands it the way it was explained to him. There are many ways in Torah but I think that using the tzurah if a yid as an argument is a strong point.

People in the comments are arguing about the Halacha of tfilin, but what about the simple fact that it's not befitting a Jewish man to style himself as such and this is simple kitzur Shulchan Aruch where it's paskened a man should refrain from even looking into a mirror. A man should be removed from such vanities and certainly a yeshiva bochur who should be fully immersed in Torah and elokus.

Why is this being published on the internet for consumption of Eisav? Please, please consider removing it for the sake of these bochutim. Who knows who will be watching this and looking at the bochurim, drawing from their kedusha chas v shalom and using this to denegrate us, lo aleinu, despite the very pertinent message for Yidden. May have been wiser to make it a story on Torah Anytime.

This is very incorrect. One can be מקיים the מצוה of תפילין with a chup. The only thing one needs to make sure is that the hair isn't folded over and it needs to be straight down as opposed to being to the side. This video only goes according to radical Rabbanim who obviously didn't properly understand the שולחן ערוך. If this were true, is this Rav saying so many peope are ot doing the מצוה?!?!

I’m not sure about Halacha as he quotes m”b and is applying it as he understands it.
Moreover, he’s passionate about the mesorah of not having long hair al pi kaballah and chasiddim in particular. Why he did it, is his choice but obviously he felt better to not have a chup like the non yidden have.
The tzurah of a yid has unfortunately changed since haskalah happened to Germany and unfortunately found its place in the modern and even litvish circles.
If you asked me: I can’t understand the beard shaving whatsoever and that is a higher priority. Well, we do need to work on pnimious a lot and bein odom lchaveiro but this stuff is mesorah and important too.

Not true if the hair is long enough to affect the הידוק of the ביתit’s a problem.

@Youandme-kd3ic Where in Torah does it say you can’t?
Since when are you allowed to make your own issurim? Can you cite any halachic authority for this?
I’m not saying it’s an ok thing to have long hair but we need to be careful of what’s Halacha, minhag/mesorah or hiddur. To invoke the lo silbosh, how big does the hair need to be to be oiver?

Rashi in Gittin says that it is a good thing to have long hair.

So many problems these days especially amongst our youth & the big issue is a guy has a little hair on his head.
