thank u very much for sharing!
Jesus, this is superb.
Amazing Artist.
Superb Session.
This is probably my favorite collection of Cat Power songs. I think they're recorded between the Covers record and You Are Free.
You couldn't find that out?
for this Peel Session I agree: Wonderland!! definitely!!! Cat Power, please, after the Covid, come again in Italy !!!!
This needs to be on vinyl.
@catpoweroffical
it has been. But sadly just like john Peel vinyl is dead. died the day he died this time 18 years ago!
john peel was a god cat power will always be a goddess
Music is amazing. Image looks like Cat was exiled on Jupiter, in a low-security prison at the bottom of gravity well. There is a well-appointed library, and a class on painting watercolours every Tuesday.
No problem
So so sooooooo good
so so good
Wonderful
27 minutes of pure genius
That Dylan cover is devastating. ❤
that breathy vocal
Thank you.

i love the simple piano progression/motif? (idk what to call it i am not a musician lols) on Sophisticated Lady. this melody is thesame as the version of "In This Hole" on The Covers Record and i feel like ive heard it in other live recordings. reminds me of the guitar progression she keeps dipping back into and playing over medleys of her own songs and Blue Moon and Try A Little Tenderness. IDK this prob makes no sense but love chan sksksksk
"The Covers Record" magnifyied our experience with Cat Power and Chan Marshall own musics. Its intimately pure how she can bring all others tunes and rithms she sings to her own world...I believe Its not just an interpretation issue, its a way of conceptual conversion...so to speak... Hey, guys, I loved her photograph out of frame in this video...she got a little larger than she is, what is a kind of good little malice...or something...
i had the pleasure of meeting marshall chan. worked at this club in cleveland. the hallway to the big room has a resonant frequency. after the show the band was singing it and laughing their asses off. they tried to get me to sing but my voice was too roached to hit the tone.
she truly made that mary j song anew. even if the original is already amazing
Didn't know she was hanging out with such a group of psychopaths in LA. Makes me wonder about her. Still, great session and I know nothing can last forever but I miss this Cat Power, with her love of the first disc of Dylan's Bootleg Series 1-3, and her soft but husky voice that made her unmistakably her.
Electric dreams brought me here
