There are some other features of the X1C not mentioned or at least not focused on.
    1. With the AMS and using the lidar you can calibrate up to 4 filaments at a time. This sets k values automatically. (flow rate and flow dynamics)
You can run similar checks but it is a manual affair on the p series and since you are eyeing it is may not be nearly as precise as the lidar.
    2. The X1c screen is leagues beyond the p1s screen. And with that you can run the X1+ custom firmware. So the mobo/screen on the X1C handles more processing work than the anemic p1.
    3. You can FTP into the printer to pull video/timelapse, send over files over a network. It can be done on the P/A series but it is much slower. This is great for those who dont want to remove memory cards or want to disconnect from the bambu cloud.
    4. The higher end camera is 24fps at 1080 vs 720 p at .05fps, it's the difference between a video and a slide show. Also if you create content recording full video and not just time-lapse is a night and day difference
    5. Max bed temp is higher on the X1C (110 vs 100)
Since I started with the X1C it's hard to look at the p1 series since a lot of the QOL features end up being lost completely or require more steps to get to parity. (like updating extruder and hot end Metal panels vs plastic, adding carbon air filter and then there are things that can never be added to reach the same feature set. lidar, camera, touchscreen, custom firmware, max bed temp

Thanks for your review! Im deciding between p1s o x1carbon for my print farm. I was considering going for p1s to get more machines but it seems like x1c is the one for printing farms

    • @personwomanmancameratelevision

@@solosequenosenada7096 Hmm, if you are going the farm route I would ask what your are printing. If you are doing pla/petg/tpu
p1s or even A1 can be fine.
If you are going with ABS/PC/nylon or any exotic materials then p1s or X1C. The p1s will need to be upgraded with hardened extruder and nozzle to prolong some parts. Also if you are printing abrasives on a regular basis stock up on ptfe tubes and the AMS will get torn up with abrasives.
In a farm environment the screen, auto calibrations and such may not matter that much if you use the same filament and settings. So you may need to tune a few times and be set going forward if you limit print variables.
So if you want flagship go X1C(1200 or 1450) and want to not compromise on anything.
if you are looking for farms and need an enclosure x1c or p1s(600 or 950)
if you are printing basic materials go p1p (500) or A1(339 or 389)
I always look at farms in this fashion what is the most cost effective way to get out parts without compromises. faster camera, lidar, better screen etc, the 500-600 price gap is another machine which is a hit to productivity.
The P1S can print just as well as an X1C. it's the QOL features that make it better but if you are churning out parts an individual machine features may not be better than getting 2 machines for the price.
external Smart cameras exist for monitoring
panda touch can manage 10 bambu machines with a similar touch screen as the X1C. The biggest issue is printer firmware may stop it from working. so YMMV. You also have the option of a smart phone/ tablet
It's the lidar and auto calibrations that are left which you can tune manually and setup profiles in bambu studio or orca slicer.

I've been running a P1S for a year. It's been virtually trouble free with occasional issues with the more exotic filaments and some minor disappointment with AMS. I had some bed adhesion problems early on with Bambu labs own carbon fiber filaments but that was easily resolved by using a smooth plate with glue stick. My biggest issue with AMS is all the purge cycling as it can triple the print time and wastes a lot of filament. I'm also experiencing a new problem with their specialized support filament for use with their carbon fiber filaments. It worked fine for several prints when I first got it but I hadn't used it for 6 months and now it won't print without stringing and contaminating my part. I tried drying it but it didn't help at all. I'm starting to wonder if the filament just goes bad. I was considering going to a Prusa XL with dual print heads but that's $2500 and Prusa charges almost $200 for shipping to the states. I'm kinda tempted to just move to the X1C for it's supposed better performance with the niche filaments.

@@RYTHMICRIOTas time goes on Filament absorbs moisture which makes it virtually unusable. I keep all my filaments in a plastic bag with those white pouches that come with electronics. It is completely normal for old left out filament to do that

Very nice video! This is a great summary of how I made the decision to purchase the P1S. I spent weeks of watching videos and researching to get this very information. I went with the P1S because the only main difference was the AI lidar stuff which with the reliability and my OCD to always check the first layer myself anyway was not worth it. If I need a hardened steel nozzle and stronger gear system I can always purchase it down the road but right now I'm just printing PLA and TPU with an interest in ABS soon. Thanks for this video and it will help people like myself make an informed decision when purchasing a 3d printer

Gave me the exact information I needed to finally pull the trigger on a P1S. All I use is PLA and I wanted to use ABS and ASA, so this one seems like what I need to move on from my Anycubic Kobra Plus (not a good experience, personally. After buying 3 machines I decided to finally look at better quality printers)

How has your experience been since buying the P1S?

    • @idoubtyourcommitment
      @idoubtyourcommitment 12 днів тому

@@dillonohrt1903 It's night and day difference. I actually went with a P1P because I didn't see a need for the enclosure, but you can print out something to hold carbon filter over the exhaust fan in a P1S. Fortunately the upgrade kit is available and it even says P1S on the part, so it's not just upgrading components, but actually turning your P1P into a P1S. PLA and PETGHF (the bambu lab PETG) are both equally easy to print. I've run through half a dozen spools already and that's with a lot of down time. This thing is fast than the bed slingers I've bought in the past. The calibration needed is built in. I can calibrate from the app to zero in on a filament and layer lines are less noticeable. Everything is good out of the box. I had a few screws to remove, I leveled the bed and calibrated the filament and started printing perfectly. Models with printed screws or tight tolerances have been no threat.
Tinkering with devices is definitely a cool hobby, but I always wanted to just print. I've since given my old printers that didn't work to a neighbor because he wanted to tinker and now I'm planning to get an enclosure kit for my P1P and buy a second P1S. Being able to just print and not worry too much has been game changing. There are still small problems sometimes. I had filament cross over itself and cause problems. The WiFi module needed to be reseated after I notice a loss of WiFi connectivity, but I'm ordering a spare and it was only $4.99 usd. The parts are mainly found on their site, but they're all easy to replace and decently priced.
I'd highly suggest going with them.
