Thank you sooo much i emptied like my whole bag 'cause i was scared of getting in trouble for leaving anything electronic 😭 not only was i embarrassed i was holding the line!
Yes, that is a good one to mention as well. C-pap's do need to be removed from its carrying case and undergo x-ray screening although you are allowed to place the C-pap in a clear plastic bag to protect it. The facemasks and tubing for it can remain in the case.
@@BenDreamVacations this varies depending on where you are flying from. We recently flew Munich - Dubai - Melbourne and return from Sydney via Dubai to Munich. None of the airports required the CPap to be taken out of it's carry bag. The security agent in Munich looked at the bag, saw the logo and said to my husband 'snoring machine, right?' and sent it through.
I took just a backpack to San Diego for a quick trip. TSA wanted to search my backpack because of something "suspicious". I waited ten minutes for the dude to finally bring my bag to me and have me open it. The dude was a big black guy who was looking through all my stuff. The suspicious item was baby powder. I laughed and said, "really?". I told him, being a guy, he probably knows why I have it in my bag. I then asked him if he'd like to see my police ID in the front pocket too and said we're on the same team. He laughed and told me to have a nice day and left.
Hi i am heading to Greece in a few weeks and was wondering if you need separate bins for liquids, shoes, backpack, laptop, iPad, power bank, and food? Love the videos btw!!
Your backpack does not need to go in a bin and any electronic the size of a cell phone or smaller does not have to go in a bin. So if your power bank is the size of a cell phone you can just keep it in your backpack. And as long as the food you are carrying is solid that ca stay in your bag as well. For everything else that you mentioned, those items will need to go in a bin.
Flashlights can stay in your bag. Portable speakers or any electronic larger than a cell phone will need to be taken out and placed in a bin. For any type of hair straightener, if it is corded then it can stay in your bag. If it is cordless then you will need to take them out and place them in a bin and they can only be packed in a carry-on or personal item bag.
I’m bringing a carry on suit case plus the little personal bag. However I want to bring another purse to use once I get to my destination. will they allow me to put the purse in my carry on suitcase?
Correct. Right before you go through security a TSA agent will check your ID. After that you can place your passport and other documents in your bag as you are going through the security check.
For an asthma inhaler, you can keep it in your bag of liquids or if it takes up too much space you can choose to store it elsewhere. It can be more than the 3.4oz allowed since an inhaler is considered medically necessary. You will just have to let the TSA officers know that you have it so that they can properly screen it.
A new IPad still sealed in its original packaging is allowed. However, security officers may need to open/unwrap the IPad if additional screening is required.
It's completely fine to use a carry-on bag with metal zips and buttons. It will be seen through the x-ray scanners but they are perfectly acceptable to have on your bag.
In October 2023 I'm wondering if my tablet and camera (DSLR) can remain in it's protective sleeve or pouch while being placed in a gray bin? Also didn't know about the RFID thing for wallets. So basically should I place my DL and cards in a non-RFID wallet at the airport and then switch them to a RFID wallet after security? Also for my passport in a RFID pouch? If so that makes travelers have to do extra steps in handling their ID, CCs and passports at a busy airport.
Your tablet and camera can stay in the protective sleeve as long as no other item is in the sleeve with it. My home airport just upgraded their x-ray screener and now no one has to remove any electronics from their bag so there is a chance you have not have to either. You used to have to take out an RFID wallet and place it in a bin but since TSA has upgraded their security systems this is no longer required and I have never had a issue keeping it in my bag.
Thank you for this very informative video. QUESTION: I am only flying domestic in the US with only carry-on luggage. I understand that the TSA will allow me to bring a portable charger (they all use internal rechargeable lithium batteries) if it is less than 100 watts. I would like to use the kiosk to check-in but all of the videos on UA-cam that show how to use those kiosks show that there is a screen presented while using them that asks you to confirm you are not carrying any prohibited items and one of the prohibited items listed on that screen is "lithium batteries." Does this mean that I cannot use the Kiosk and have to check-in with at the airline's check-in desk and show them my portable charger for them to OK me bringing it on the plane?
Hi Jerry, you can use the Kiosk when checking in for your flight. The prohibited list containing lithium batteries refers to checked luggage only. You are prohibited from carrying loose uninstalled lithium batteries in a checked bag. Since you are just taking a carry-on you can just check in for your flight at the kiosk and then head straight to security. I travel with a portable charger all the time and I have always just kept in my backpack.
@@BenDreamVacations Hi Ben, Thanks so much for the quick reply and info. @@BenDreamVacations Ben, BTW - I fully understand what you explained, thanks for confirming my understanding, however, the kiosk screen depicting the prohibited items does not draw a distinction between stand-a-alone lithium batteries and components that contain lithium batteries (such as a portable charger) and the TSA website says any lithium battery that is under 100 watts is allowed in carry-on. It does not exclude "uninstalled lithium batteries" from that allowance. All cell phones contain lithium batteries and they are certainly allowed in carry-on by the TSA so the Kiosk literally is asking a person with a cell phone to state they are not bringing a lithium battery into the plane in carry-on when in fact they are. The kiosk could easily clear up this confusion by adding a sentence to the screen of prohibited items that explains that electronics that "contain" lithium batteries are allowed providing they are under 100 watts and only stand-alone (or as you refer to them) "uninstalled lithium batteries" are prohibited. At most they may ask you to turn it on but they won't search through any information that is on it. I personally have never been asked to turn my ipad or laptop on. I just put it in the bin and pick it up once it's through the scanner.

Yes, your money belt will need to come off but I would place it in your personal item bag until you are through security. The same goes for your RFID card holder. Place it in your personal item bag. If you want to keep your card holder on you then that is when airport security will need to visually inspect it as it will interfere with the body scanner.
Yes, you can put your laptop bag inside your carry-on and it will only count as 1 bag. If you are carrying an actual laptop you will still have to remove it when going through security so maybe wait until you are through security before you combining bags.
Yes, but if the batteries are lithium batteries then just make sure they are limited to a rating of 100 watt hours per battery and they must be carried in your carry-on or personal item bag only.
@@supermario4024 in general yes. There might be some slight differences between countries but you shouldn’t have any issues putting those items in your bag when going to and from the Philippines.
So, I have 2 phones. One I have always on me and the second is my work phone that I have in my backpack, does the airport security make me take it out? I havent been on a plane in years
You don't have to take your phones out when going through security. They can be left in your bag. Only electronics larger than a cell phone need to be taken out.
Most jewelry will not need to be put in the bin, especially if its newer jewelry. If you have older jewelry then it might be best to keep it in either your carry-on or personal item bag when going through security.
Vapes can be carried in carry-on bags only. You will need to makes sure the heating element doesn't accidental activate. Also, each lithium ion battery cannot exceed a watt-hour rating on 100 or a lithium content of 2 grams. The airline you will be flying on may limit the number of vapes you carry so you will just need to double check to make sure you are not carrying more than is allowed.
I am bringing the internal parts of my pc *motherboard /gpu/ram* none if which have batteries, will they be an issue or have to be removed? They are fragile so the less I have to handle them the better.
You shouldn't have any issues taking internal parts of your PC. However, after it goes through the x-ray the TSA may want to inspect it manually so you may be asked to open your bag so they can look at it.
Yes, you can powders in your carry-on but anything greater than 12oz will need to be removed from your bag and placed in a separate security bin for screening.
My sizes were listed in inches but what you have is just about right when converted into cm. You can take shampoo, suntan etc in a carry-on but it has to be less than 100ml per item per the rule.
Hi so my question is can i bring my vape to Chicago from saudi arabia do i need to take it out of my bag for scanning cuz i am hidding it from my parents
There is always a chance the security officers will want to inspect it when they see it on the x-ray scanner but in general you can keep it in your carry-on bag as long as the battery is removed so it doesn't accidently heat up.
Your keys and cough drops etc are ok to leave in your jacket pocket. Your phone might be ok in the jacket. It just just depends on the type of jacket. If it’s thicker or has metal buttons it will probably get flagged. I usually just store my phone in my backpack or carry-on when going through security.
If your cologne bottle holds more than 3.4oz than yes, you will need to put it in a 3.4oz travel bottle. Otherwise, if you are checking a bag you can just pack it in there without having to worry about transferring it.
If you are bringing something into the country that you didn't leave with then you are subject to a tax. However, you do get a personal exemption of usually $800 depending on the country for any items you purchased outside of the country. Anything over that amount would be taxed.
Hello. I have TSA PreCheck and was wondering about the taking out the laptop rule. Technically, PreCheck allows you to keep your laptop in the bag, but sometimes the agents make you take it out. Have the rules changed, or is it airport/agent specific?
The rules haven’t changed but if your laptop cannot be x-rayed through your bag or if there is a heighten security threat you will be asked to take out your laptop.
A hoagie will be fine to take through security but if you are taking a hoagie sandwich then just make sure there isn't anything liquid like in the sandwich.
A fanny pack would technically count as a personal item bag but it depends on how strict the airline wants to be with it. I think in most cases the airline won't take an issue with it since it doesn't take up much space. The worst case scenario would be that they ask you to put it in either your carry-on or personal bag.
Yes, your electronics shouldn’t be stacked on top of each other in the bins so use as many as you need. Solid medication does not need to be inspected by hand.
HI AGAIN SIR..I UNDERSTAND THAT A PASSENGER CAN CARRY 3 Ounce of HAND SANITIZER.. .BUT SIR CAN YOU CARRY A ABOUT FIVE. 3 OUNCES OF HAND SANITIZERS? OR ONLY ONE? . THANKS . GOD BLESS.

Yes, RFID wallets are allowed in checked luggage.
Hi. What about a wireless mouse… Do I have to put it in the bin? Do I have to remove the AA battery?
You can leave a wireless mouse in your bag. No need to take it out and put it in a bin. The batteries can stay in them too.
Hi, I’m flying American Airlines can I bring onboard my portable charger battery pack powerbank .
Yes, you can bring power banks onboard the airplane. In fact, they have to be carried with you on the airplane as they are not allowed to be packed in checked luggage.
Quick question do they have to go through everything with your iPad or anything like the laptop.
At most they may ask you to turn it on but they won't search through any information that is on it. I personally have never been asked to turn my ipad or laptop on. I just put it in the bin and pick it up once it's through the scanner.
Thank You.
Will a regular duffel bag work for carry on?
Yes, you can use a duffel bag as long as it is within the size requirements. 22" x14" x 9"
A little confused, so do I have have to remove my 1 quart bag of liquids from my carry-on?
Correct, you will need to remove your 1 quart sized bag of liquids from your carry-on when going through security unless you are enrolled in the TSA precheck program in which case you can leave it in your bag.
yes, you have to take them out and put them in the tray
@@BenDreamVacationscan I put my bag of liquids in my checked baggage and also not in a clear quartz bag?

I have a question. I have to use a powder for my hair (hair fibers), will that be okay to put with the liquids or will it be okay to keep in the carry on bag?
If it's under 12oz you don't need to place it in your liquids bag. If it's over 12oz then it will need to placed in a separate bin for screening.
We are going to Europe. I have a money belt does it need to come off and go in a gray bin or should I just put all my money in my personal item bag? Could you explain again about RDIF my credit card holder is RDIF does that go in a gray bin as well
Thanks for your help!
Yes, your money belt will need to come off but I would place it in your personal item bag until you are through security. The same goes for your RFID card holder. Place it in your personal item bag. If you want to keep your card holder on you then that is when airport security will need to visually inspect it as it will interfere with the body scanner.
Thank you been very helpful ✈️
What about adult toys in checked bags?
As long as they contain lithium batteries in them you are good to keep them in a checked bag.
Hi can I put pans and possibly glass in a carry on?
Yes, as long as the pans are not cast iron. Glass is ok to pack.
Can i put my laptop bag inside my carry on while traveling ?
Yes, you can put your laptop bag inside your carry-on and it will only count as 1 bag. If you are carrying an actual laptop you will still have to remove it when going through security so maybe wait until you are through security before you combining bags.
can u bring cartridge batteries?
Yes, but if the batteries are lithium batteries then just make sure they are limited to a rating of 100 watt hours per battery and they must be carried in your carry-on or personal item bag only.
Should we remove out cables and such
No need to remove cables. Those can stay in your bag.

Yes, no need to take your phones out of your purse.

As long as the items aren't stacked up on each other they can all go in one bin.

So, I have 2 phones. One I have always on me and the second is my work phone that I have in my backpack, does the airport security make me take it out? I havent been on a plane in years
You don't have to take your phones out when going through security. They can be left in your bag. Only electronics larger than a cell phone need to be taken out.
What about jewelry do we put it in the bin too?
Most jewelry will not need to be put in the bin, especially if its newer jewelry. If you have older jewelry then it might be best to keep it in either your carry-on or personal item bag when going through security.
Could I bring an electronic still in its box if I’m bringing it as a gift?
Yes, but the risk is if it can't be x-rayed then you will be asked to open it.
@@BenDreamVacationsThank you! And do you know if it needs to be declared if you bring it internationally ? Such as Asian countries ?
In general as long as you are gifting and not selling the device within the country then you do not need to declare it.
What about vapes? Like aroma king or some
Vapes can be carried in carry-on bags only.
Do i have to put my nintendo switch and its games in its own bin? And do i have to take it out of its case?
As long as your are not stacking your switch on top of other things, it can all go into a single bin. And it can stay in the case.
Question can I wear a concealed money belt though TSA with taking it off.
You can, I would just make sure you get a TSA approved money belt. Otherwise you run the risk of the TSA asking you to remove it.
The ‘rules’ seem to change every time I go through. Possibly due to the mood the security staff are in.
my last trip I got the good guys

No, that’s not true. Just any electronic larger than a cell phone and your quart sized bag of liquid and gels.

It just just depends on the type of jacket. i will be bringing my 4 yrs old PC (Parts out, some in my carry on luggage and some are on my check-in luggage) will custom tax me for my old PC?

Hello, can I wear a fanny pack along with my carry-on and personal bags?
A fanny pack would technically count as a personal item bag but it depends on how strict the airline wants to be with it. I think in most cases the airline won't take an issue with it since it doesn't take up much space. The worst case scenario would be that they ask you to put it in either your carry-on or personal bag.
