Si your reviews are frank and honest, which is appreciated. I called in to my local Triumph dealer last year with a view to buying a GT Pro, test rode it and was left a little flat to be honest. I used to have sports bikes and also a 1200 explorer and the 900 GT pro was NICE but a little boring for me, hopefully the new one with more power will be a bit better. Everyone has different tastes and needs I suppose, keep up the good work bud.

Great review! You have addressed most of the important issues. The engine rumble under acceleration sounds very unique but seems quite discrete when cruising. The comfort is also a big plus for those wanting a cruiser.

As you mentioned Triumph have certainly up’d their game on colour schemes. It was what, 2 to 3 years ago Triumph were getting a lot of criticism for their dull uninspiring colours especially as compared to Royal Enfield.

I've just swapped a BMW for a GT pro. A completely different animal to my old bike, but loving it at the moment. You know you've bought the right bike when your son test rides it and comes back with a big cheesy grin when he brings it back. He really liked it too, and he has previously owned two GSAs.

Great review. After owning an 800xrx for 5 years, and a 900 gt pro for the last 3, I am very tempted to change to the latest model. I agree with you regarding vibration. I found the 800 gave out high frequency vibes, which gave me white finger after a long ride. The 900 has vibes, but more of a kind to make you feel you are on a living machine. Full of character! I jusyt hope my givi panniers will fit the new bike. The frame loks the same to me?

Test rode the 660 sport and then the 900 got pro. Couldn’t believe the difference . I nearly walked away after the 660 thinking the 900 was a bigger version. Wow, how wrong was I! Loved the 24 plate 900 gt pro. Might have to go for the earlier model because the higher seat just took it a bit high and I could flat foot the older model but what a bike!

Simon thanks for a very concise review of the Gt Pro. Rode the 2023 model and it was nice, but didn’t set it on fire. Have a 2016 Tiger Explorer 1200 XRT, and I really love touring on it, but at 74 I need to consider something lighter with a lower seat height (800). I plan to get a test ride this coming week and your explanation of the changes for 2024 just may be what I was looking for. Thanks again from a new subscriber in Wisconsin.

Another cracking review! I have the 2023 GT Pro and use it to commute. A quick 1000k's a week. All highway riding and i love the bike. Had it 6months and I have 19000K's up. The triple engine is the BEST! After 3 years I will definitely be buying another. So glad they changed the dash. I can't stand the dash on the 2023 model... It's horrible and its like a cartoon. Like you said it's a lot of bike for the money and I agree. Keep up the awesome honest reviews. 😎

Great review , the red is gorgeous . This bike is what the 900 should have been all along .
Now a direct competitor for the Africa Twin .
If it had a shaft drive , it would be damn near perfect .
The windscreen problem could be probably be cured with a clip on deflector .
The seat looks very much like the Tiger 1200 seat , which is a very comfortable seat .
I think the TFT screen is a big improvement and the backlit controls are very helpful .
Is the front suspension still manually adjusted ?
Triple plane cranks to me are a bit of a mystery , I ride my little 660 and then the 1200 and don't notice much difference in the feel of the engine . And for a bike like the GT which spends the majority of it's time on the road , I don't really see the point of having it . However , I am not Triumph , I don't have to compete with Bavaria for the Great Starbucks Adventure market . So I think I understand the rationale .
Thanks for showing us the bike , it looks a very good machine and makes me want to swing a leg over one and give it a try , which I never wanted to do with the previous model .

Test road one recently. Handling is great. Hoewever, that t-plane crank chucks out lots of vibes at different points in the rev range. Triumph seem to have solved the vibes in the handlebars, but the ones in the foot peg are not good. Also the tank experiences some vibration which i have never seen before in a bike.

Great review. I totally agree with the comments on buffeting around the helmet area. For me it was the only negative I found during a test ride. Has anyone actual experience with this bike in fitting either a clip-on deflector or a taller screen and whether they solved the problem? What did you use? It's something I definitely intend to do when my bike arrives.

WEEELL isnt this interesting. Guess what I did today? Yep just ordered the new 900 GT pro, upgrading from a 2020 900 GT.
The new version is noticeably smoother in the bars and the pegs, everything else works and fits like the older model. More power? couldnt tell in the area I did the test ride in, also the bike had a whole 12 km on it so I wasnt going to thrash it. The smoothness however was noticeable. Hopeing for a similar experience as the older version 70,000km in just under 4 years with zero mechanical issues, service it put tyres on it give it fuel and ride. It arrives next week. Cant wait.

My 2024 GT Pro is my 4th Tiger - I've loved all of them. However ... I'm noticing some issues with the electronics and I'm wondering if anyone else is having these same issues.
#1 - My TPMS shows false warnings (both tires / separately) - For example, I set out on a ride last Saturday and the TPMS indicated that my front tire was at 22 psi. I stopped immediately, and manually checked the pressure (it was fine). The monitoring system then reset itself and showed the proper PSI. This has happened a number of times on each ride. I'm open to suggestions - I'm visiting the dealership soon and will ask them too.
#2 - When I connect my phone via the onboard blue tooth connection - when I try and adjust the volume of the music I'm playing, the music stops and I then have to reset the connection for it to start again. I'm open to the idea that this might be user error (somehow) or due to me having an older phone (Galaxy s10e), but it's frustrating.
The two issues make me wonder if there's a problem in the electronics. Anyone else have such issues?

Does the additional information on the dash remain on if you key off the bike? Or do you always have to reselect it if you power off the bike?

It goes back to the home screen when you cycle the key, you have to reselect it. I wish triumph would put more info on that home screen. So much wasted space. The display is better than the previous 900 but on the previous 900 you could cycle thru all the info VERY easy with the joystick and not have to find everything in the menu independently as you have to do now.

Tool one out as a curtesy bike , great bike , but as for someone my age with bad hips can’t get foot over pillion seat , as with my tiger 660 sport the solution was to get the bike lowered 2 cms , is there a kit coming out to lower the 900 gt ?😊👍👍

Not that I'm aware of Tony, I always stand on the peg with my left foot to lift me up then throw the right leg over, do same in reverse on dismount. Cheers Si

    Hi Si
I think you’re right this 900 is a game changer but I would love to see the set up like the 1200 so the option of a 30L tank , semi automatic suspension and a Shaft drive on GT and the Rally I understand that would bring it closer to the price of the 1200 Gt & Rally Explorer what is your thoughts 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

    • @simotofoto
      @simotofoto  6 місяців тому +1

Hi Gavin, to be honest I think the reason lots of people are switching from 1200's and bigger bikes to the 900 is down to the lighter weight, bulk and just overall ease of ownership. Sticking a 30 litre tank on this bike would just make it bulkier and heavier and at 60mpg 20 litres sounds about right imo. The suspension on the rear is so easy to adjust through the dash that I think the auto set up would be more of an expense that would push the OTR road price up and currently where the price is and the spec that comes with the bike standard I think Triumph are on the money with it. Thanks for your comment Gavin, take it easy dude, Si

Thanks for the quick reply I do understand where you are coming from but it’s only the GT Pro that has the semi automatic suspension on the rear. I have a tiger 1200 Rally Explorer and I love it too bits but I know I don’t need the 1200 cc or the 147-150 bhp but the 900 with it new finely tuned engine would be nice if it could have some of the 1200 flair with the shift and the semi active suspension all round yes it would show in the price. And yes the 30L tank was maybe a bit to much 😂 maybe I should be thinking of a T7 when I get older and can’t keep the bike up right when I stop 😂
Great review but still prefer the Rally models 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️👍

I recently returned to riding at age sixty. I wanted a 800xrx. But during covid. The prices were insane. So I bought a used 800xr. Too relearn my riding skills and save money. After 2 years Triumph really screwed us over. First they gave us that insane stupid graphics on the screen. Then they take away spiked wheels on the cheaper models. 20 thousand dollars is insane. For an off road version. Screw Triumph! I am going cfmoto. I don't care if they have stolen their designs from ktm. Bought everything eles from other companies ( like every other manufacturer). It's 50% cheaper! Has cruise control, blind side mirrors!!
