There's no way they'd tease Ali the way they did in season 2 and then not bring her in. Chances are she's already either A) Signed a contract for season 3 or B) Gave them some kind of commitment to it.
It's also no secret that Elizabeth does not like Ralph, so you could cut the tension with a knife when she was brought up fondly by William. Ralph tried to hold it in, but it was all over his face and all in his tone.
I kinda want to see Hillary Swank’s character from Next Karate Kid. I don’t know, I think it’ll be cool to see her and Daniel reminisce about Mr. Miyagi.
Everytime I see the ending Scene of the original Karate Kid when Johnny hands Daniel the trophe and says, "You're not bad LaRusso," it shows me that Johnny isn't that bad of a person.
Horse shit. He was an asshole for 99% of the film, both with and away from Kreese. People on IMDB and UA-cam continue to try their hand at revisionist history, but it won't hold. I understand it's a marketing gimmick, but people take it too far by coming up with other bullshit theories like Larusso was the real bully. But that's all it is...bullshit. Period.
Johnny is a lot like Draco Malfoy, not naturally a bully, but taught to be one by the adult mentors around them. In Malfoy's case it was his dad, and with Johnny it was Kreese.
@@fns4158 I guess it's a case of standard case of identity disorder. Some actors are unable to get away from their roles as a certain character. For example, josh Radnor is barely cast anymore cos he is forever remembered as Ted Mosby by the fans of the show.

Johnny was never a bad guy to begin with, he just had an evil sensei who tried to imprint on him some bad lessons. He struggled a lot through his life, while Daniel was a goody guy with a great master and made a big career. Daniel in theory achieved a perfect life, but cracks start to appear: he grew complacent and lost his way after Mr Miyagi died, his children aren't exactly the greatest and his grudge against Johnny overwhelms his better judgement. Opening the dojo to train multiple students was also against rules, because it was supposed to be a one on one close bond training.

Great example of perfect casting....we cannot even imagine anyone else in any of the roles, from Miagi all the way down to Daniel's mother. Great work in casting.
I never really liked Daniel in the original karate kid that much. I don't know why, I always just preferred Johnny. So happy that Cobra Kai focuses on Johnny's good side
I LOVE Ralph Macchio as Daniel Larruso.....Hes SUCH a GREAT actor.....And Sooooooo is Willam Zabka as Johnny Lawrence.......In THE original Karate Kid......But I also Love Them in Cobra Kai ... .
I love that they are good friends. Of course you expect that they are acting and the aggression is not real but somehow it just feels awesome to see them joke around with each other.
It's something how Daniel dodged every confrontation with Johnny whenever Johnny stood in his way in the "Cobra Kai" Series. I could tell Daniel was truly scared of him. Mr Miyagi helped Daniel in every "Karate Kid" Movie.
Two real world heroes. No special powers required. The new generation need to learn that human beings can be super without unworldly powers. Training. Hard work. Success.
What suprises me the most is that Karate Kid was being watched in the 80’s all over the world. Probably we in Poland wanted to be Daniel - San as much as guys in US.
Oh yes! Daniel at the grave, right up to training in his newly cleaned out garage, with THAT MUSIC, I got chills all over! Best moment in the series for me!

With a joyful heart I hail the "Cobra Kai" tv series, 30 years later taking us to the Karate Kid saga once again; emotion is overwhelming!!! My prayers for "Pat Morita", God rest his soul, in loving memory.
I think it's amazing that they were able to make a sequel to a classic movie series so many years after the fact, and not only get the original actors back to reprise their roles, but keep it in direct continuity with the original- the first film took place in 1984, Cobra Kai takes place 34 years later in 2018, with Daniel and Johnny having grown up.
I Love The crane kick with Ralph macchio and William zabka in the original Karate Kid.....And the scene too with at the end original Karate kid.....When Johnny gives him the winning trophy....He Says your All Right Larusso........
I like the parking lot scene when Kress throw the trophy down and myagi says let the boy go and he turns around and Kress punches the window when myagi moves and Kress’s hand is bleeding and he throws another punch and his other hands starts to bleed. I like this because this is real blood not faking it. They both took it to the next level.
I just cant believe that my favorite childhood movie is still in action today! I took karate lessons because of Daniel Larusso! I got to a purple belt lol but in my mind i was a black belt.
Movies like karate kid and blood sport are why I started doing adaptive martial arts I have cerebral palsy and use a wheelchair so all of the techniques I do are adapted
80's movies had such incredible atmosphere, characters and pace, they would suck the viewer in and become cult movies you just want to watch over and over..
They still took the time to write scripts that read well on the page as a story. In the '90s, filmmakers got lazy and they thought that the special effects would make up for thin and meaningless scripts.
Something about when Ralph says the director told him to take some karate lessons. Made me flash back to moments in my own life where i received really good news.
I'm a huge fan of The Karate Kid. About 7 years ago I was at a take out chicken spot in Los Angeles, with a buddy. There weren't many people there, except in line with us was Ralph Macchio. I decided to speak to him and tell hime I was a big fan. He politely said "thank you." My friend and I then got our food and sat down at one of the few tables in the place. A minute or two later, Daniel-san sat down next to us. We all started chatting about playoff hockey, him being from New York, and him being a fan of the NJ Devils...just regular guy stuff. He told us he was on his way to a party but wasn't sure about the food situation, so he decided to stop in for a bite to eat before hand. It was just chatting with a normal dude. The point of all of this is to say that, sometimes you get a chance to meet a public person and they are really cool. Ralph Macchio was that type of guy; down to earth and friendly. One of the coolest experiences for a me as big fan of The Karate Kid.

I kinda want to see Hillary Swank’s character from Next Karate Kid. I don’t know, I think it’ll be cool to see her and Daniel reminisce about Mr. Miyagi.
No one has ever aged better than Ralph Macchio.
bobby mariani
Keanu Reeves aged similarly.
@@JonWayes agreed, but not as good. Ralph looks like he's in his late 20s early 30s in this interview.
Paul Rudd
@@bobbymariani2839 I wouldn't say late 20s...He looks 30 something for sure, if they don't do closeups.
@@Irma_GA yeah but he's almost 60!!
Everytime I see the ending Scene of the original Karate Kid when Johnny hands Daniel the trophe and says, "You're not bad LaRusso," it shows me that Johnny isn't that bad of a person.
What it shows is that Kreese had a lot to do with Johnny being a bully
Johnny is my favorite character ever written I think.
Period.
We first see some hope for Johnny by his reaction when Kreese tells him to sweep Daniel's leg. Johnny didn't want to win unless it was honestly.
Johnny is a lot like Draco Malfoy, not naturally a bully, but taught to be one by the adult mentors around them. In Malfoy's case it was his dad, and with Johnny it was Kreese.
William Zabka deserves an Emmy for Cobra Kai.Absolutely fantastic acting performance, especially in season 2
Both of these guys were criminally underutilized by Hollywood after KK.
But why?
@@fns4158 I guess it's a case of standard case of identity disorder. Some actors are unable to get away from their roles as a certain character.
For example, josh Radnor is barely cast anymore cos he is forever remembered as Ted Mosby by the fans of the show.
@@tanmaydeshpande So even if they are talented, they cannot "get away" from the shadow of the role that made them famous?
@@fns4158 Mhm for fear of not being able to live up to expectations aswell as possible free advertisement directing the crowd's focus. Could imagine many people saying Oh look thats Johnny Lawerence from KK have you seen that awesome film etc etc and then the focus of their new character is marred by their very best one.
Too bad the movie wasn't called Karate Kid Kicker!
This series made me a Johnny Lawrence fan....
Watch Johnny did nothing wrong. ua-cam.com/video/C_Gz_iTuRMM/v-deo.html
Edmund Tam saameee
Yeah, the original movie trilogy was rooting for the jerk. Wonder what could have been of Johnny if Mr. Miyagi had been his teacher instead of Kreese.
Nah, it just made me equally support both. Both are essentially the same person. Daniel always has his guard up, just like Johnny.
Opening the dojo to train multiple students was also against rules, because it was supposed to be a one on one close bond training.
cobra kai is brilliant TV. makes me feel 9 all over again (im 44).
Ja'm 40 from Poland. Cobra cai!
hmmm so you were born in 1975? l was born in august 19 2008 lol and as of the time of this comment im 12 the time of this comment is sunday april 11 2021 and im 12 years old rn
This was a great movie they don’t make them like this anymore the 80s had some of the best most iconic Hollywood blockbusters ever.
Karate Kid, E.T. And The Outsiders, my favorite movie's of that time. I will always remember the 80's the music the movie's my high school graduation etc...what a magical time for me.
The Goonies?
Stand by me?
By the sound of things I was little when you were a teen. Loved the 80s too though. My teens came next decade. Those teen years can be a really beautiful time. When you’re still young enough to believe anything is possible and old enough to feel it all on the horizon.
"The Karate Kid" is one of the greatest movie ever, "Cobra Kai" is one of the greatest series ever
Best scene for me is when Johnny hands the trophy to LaRusso himself, "Your alright LaRusso, great match" just perfect!.
In my mind they will always stay the same age as back in the movie.... crazy to watch them as grown up adults / old people
Ralph talks about Pat Morita just like Danny talks about Mr. Miyagi in Cobra Kai. Their chemistry worked so well.
I actually fixed my broken leg with that Mr miagi trick where he rubs his hands, mumbles something and touches the broken leg. Doctors were baffled.
Mr Miagi thank you.
I'm a dad now and I kinda proudly tell my daughter that scenes from this classic movie were filmed very near our home in the Valley.
This is one of those times the perfect actors fell in the perfect place and thank God they did, we are all quite blessed thanks to it
I think that if Cobra Kai had happened 10 years ago, Zabka would have exploded into Hollywood. After watching every episode of both seasons, I see him in a totally new light. He should have huge
He didnt want it. He could have been huge after KK, but he chose another path.
He is more to behind the scene
7:50 He knows she’s coming for season 3 of Cobra Kai.
These two have such a bond. It's adorable.
It's nuts that he remembered his audition word for word, WOW!
Great example of perfect casting....we cannot even imagine anyone else in any of the roles, from Miagi all the way down to Daniel's mother. Great work in casting.
If there was ever a reason that was enough motivation for me to create a time machine. it's to get to season 3 faster.
Hopefully I’ll be on season 3! I’m gonna do my best to be on that show!
That alone... is enough reason to rent a Time Machine..
and to see Joshua vs Wilder & Crawford vs Spence (in Boxing)
How about going back in time and seeing the originals being filmed and in theaters?
Take me too!!
#YeahYukerson Why not go two years in the future to binge watch season 3 and 4 on the same day?
I wish Pat Morita was still around to take part in this show. Really looking forward to season 3.
Yeah it's so sad that he passed away
Myagi spirit always here gyloir-san.
@@jogman262 😁

I never really liked Daniel in the original karate kid that much. I don't know why, I always just preferred Johnny. So happy that Cobra Kai focuses on Johnny's good side
E
Why dont like ralph?
I watched all 2 seasons of kobra kai on Netflix within 48 hrs...good show

Ralph Macchio is one of the few people in the world who sounds manlier as a teenager than as a middle aged man

I LOVE Ralph Macchio as Daniel Larruso.....Hes SUCH a GREAT actor.....And Sooooooo is Willam Zabka as Johnny Lawrence.......In THE original Karate Kid......But I also Love Them in Cobra Kai ...

Can’t wait for Cobra Kai Season 3
Zabka blows every one in that show out of the water.
Dawn Hopkins *LaRusso.
@@MeanMustard650 no he doesn't
It is great hearing these two talk and be so pleasant together.
I liked in "How I Met your Mother" Barney's view was Machio was the bad guy and Zabka was the good guy! 😬😃
I love that they are good friends. Of course you expect that they are acting and the aggression is not real but somehow it just feels awesome to see them joke around with each other.
7:48 Ralph dropping spoilers for season 3 Haha
Haha same saying Ali will be back lol
@@juandoe195 she is.....
Like it wasn’t obvious in the closing scene of season 2....

7:50-7:56 Ralph basically hinted that Ali will be in season 3 despite the friend request at the end of season 2
James Sinclair I caught on to that too
Because of, not despite.
Garp lol sorry for the bad grammar. I was trying to imply that whether the friend request was shown or not, Ali would be there
James Sinclair yes, i noticed that too, hahaha.
James Sinclair ok I have a theory Tory is related to Ali. Why would she say “ Tory with a y”
It’s uncanny how much Ralph looks like Miguel in the audition footage.
Dark Demonik Xolo even said his Mom told him he looked like him when he was little.
@Dark Demonik hell yeah!! all Italians look like Ivan Drago..
It's something how Daniel dodged every confrontation with Johnny whenever Johnny stood in his way in the "Cobra Kai" Series.
I could tell Daniel was truly scared of him.
Mr Miyagi helped Daniel in every "Karate Kid" Movie.
Can’t believe after so long they have such a good friend ship
Two real world heroes. No special powers required. The new generation need to learn that human beings can be super without unworldly powers. Training. Hard work. Success.
Cobra Kai is the show this generation and time needs.
This is truly amazing. The show does so much justice to the movies. Glad it is going strong.
The greatest movies ever... this movie was watched so many times in my house growing up. We never got sick of it...
What suprises me the most is that Karate Kid was being watched in the 80’s all over the world. Probably we in Poland wanted to be Daniel - San as much as guys in US.
In Italy the same :))
Hope we get more little moments with Daniel remembering Mr. Miyagi. Love those moments.
Oh yes! Daniel at the grave, right up to training in his newly cleaned out garage, with THAT MUSIC, I got chills all over! Best moment in the series for me!
Ralph Macchio is such an amazing storyteller, every interview I get more of the story! Thank you guys for sharing your stories! Love you both soooo much! Watching Karate kid now as a johnny Lawrence fan I am flabbergasted!
Everyone says they had a crush on Daniel but who had a crush on Johnny??? 😍🙋🏻
I'm rooting for Johnny now.... Cobra Kai!
I've always had a crush on William/Johnny
I had a crush on both of them.
Neil Patrick Harris
@Alison Twist Had a crush on Ralph then when I was 11. Still have a crush on him now at 40. He looks amazing for someone near 60.
My mom actually met Pat Morita at the Eastwood Mall. I learn something new every day!
William Zabka always played the bully or villain character in many of his movies. I remember him in "Going Back to School."
glad to see both actors look healthy and in shape
You couldn't have picked a better cast than this love it. 💗
These guys look great for their age..good going.
The way Cobra Kai is going I could watch it for another 34 years. This is a great show!!!
Cobra Kai.... the only show I care about on youtube originals. My wife and I love this show and the originals.
love 80 😣
I grew up on Karate Kid
But I don't know the series Cobra Kai
Sorry but who it is Pat Morita ?
Where can I watch the first and second seasons? How many episodes were there each season
and when do you think the third season will be?
I hope I didn't ask for more 😂
With a joyful heart I hail the "Cobra Kai" tv series, 30 years later taking us to the Karate Kid saga once again; emotion is overwhelming!!! My prayers for "Pat Morita", God rest his soul, in loving memory.
I still see the Daniel in him 😂❤️
That part gives me the chills and yall cant say it doesnt “ You’re alright Larusso... Great Match 🙏🏼” Respect is to the Fullest
Daniel in Karate Kid and Johnny in The outsiders 💕💕💕💕💕
Cobra Kai is the best story continution ever. Using the exact same actors is just icing on the cake.
When he was a teenager he looked like a 12 year-old and when he was a 20-year old he looked like a 16-year old
I just cant believe that my favorite childhood movie is still in action today! I took karate lessons because of Daniel Larusso! I got to a purple belt lol but in my mind i was a black belt.
I'm also taking karate. I go to an Okinawan karate school, but it's nothing like Cobra Kai was.
Purple is still quite impressive...
Ralph Machhio, "Who knows I might be seeing her soon..." 👍👍
