Just want to say I was living in Seattle at the time and my best friend was a duck and I went to OU. We watch the game and that was easily the most egregiously disgusting call I’ve ever seen. I’m still pissed about it. It was so bad they officially investigated the refs to see if they were bought off. Never heard what the outcome of the investigation was.
Combined with the Ok State call in the end zone last year I would argue OU has been screwed by the 2 most corrupt calls in CFB history
If you watch the end zone catch, it was still a completed catch. That’s what Stoops was arguing, but it was never reviewed and only the PI was.
Bottomline is this: The Big 12 Leadership didn't want an OU/TX championship game as they leave.

The biggest question Oklahoma has going into this season is: By how many points will OU beat Mizzou?
Auburn is 10-10 at home vs the SEC the last 5 years. We are in trouble if Oklahoma loses that game.

Oklahoma soundly beat Tennessee and Auburn. In the SEC, OU has the beat the teams they are supposed to beat!
Just daydreaming a bit but imagine everything going the way you predict until LSU. Imagine a night game in a raucous stadium, ESPN night game, and JA goes out despite being down early and carries the team to victory solidifying his Heisman moment.

OU should beat Tennessee by 20 points. I'm just not seeing Tennessee seeing a better defense than OU all season.
Auburn is equivalent to Oklahoma State in talent and reputation. We should win that game, but it's just an uneasy game - I agree with you Parker.

I’m trying this year to be realistic. I know we’re gonna be good but if I’m honest if we win 8-9 games I’ll think of it as a good year simply for the fact that our first year in the conference is a murderers row it’ll be a success for 8-9 wins

OU defensive scheme better tighten up. I am absolutely so sick of our Defensive End's running upfield, losing contain on the QB and opening up a running lane a truck can run through. Please stop running 10yds upfield circling around when the Offensive Tackles are letting you fly upfield.
Im really not scared of LSU right now. Obviously they have a talented roster but particularly on defense i dont know what theyre going to look like. Not to mention trying to replace a heisman winning QB

Im not as optimistic as you guys. Ive got 7-5. Losses to Texas, Alabama, Missouri, Ole Miss, and LSU.
9-3 will depend on who our losses are to and who our wins are over. SEC gets 4 teams in. 9-3 should put you somewhere around 3-4 as everyone else, with UT and Oklahoma now in the conference, have tougher schedules and another possible loss on their schedule as well. Book it though, SEC has 4 teams guaranteed get in. Otherwise it’s not the conference it is made out to be. If the Big 12 gets two? SEC more than deserves 4.

OU will be 7-0 after beating S Carolina. After that, it depends on whether OU loses two or all three games of at Ole Miss, Bama and at LSU, as to whether OU goes 9-3 or 10-2. I believe OU handles Misery!
either this is a BV team or this is a LR team.. a BV team doesnt lose to teams they shouldnt "barring major injuries" so i think Ou goes 10-2 in 2024.. losses to Ole Miss and LSU and that gets you into the playoffs!
Call me crazy, but I think OU will be 9-0 or 8-1 going into the Missouri game. I think they will finish either 12-0 or 9-3.
Why do yall say that OU can’t take days off like they actually did that in the Big 12. They lost to OSU and Kansas last season. They will have to play every week like they had to play in the last conference

Looking at the last 40 years, we won in 84, 85, 86, 87, 88, 89, 90, 91, 92, 93, 94, 95, 99, 02, 03, 06, 07, 07, 08, 11.
They also won in 98 😅
Different personnel and defense
This is the prediction I’m picking. We have two individuals who know our depth and understand the talent. All the SEC talking heads are throwing out a heart first and completely slapping together a half a$$ analysis together about this team. It’s lazy and low value. 6-6 and 7-5 are complete jokes. This team has experience, talent and depth. Put a T or G or A in front of the name and you get 10-2 and 11-1 all day.

It's weird...all these years we had to hear about how from top to bottom the SEC was the best conference and never having a week off.

There's no easy schedule in the SEC but there are obviously easier schedules than other SEC teams. I think what people are referring to is an easy schedule relative to some others in the conference.

@@DedHedRylol. That backdrop is all things I e collected and was given to me. Of course I grew up a fan of OU, though. So did virtually the whole beat.
But those statues were from family members that donated to OU for those statues to be built on campus. The Beatles, Blink182, Eminem, Biggie and Pac vinyl is mine. The other photos are my kids (who love OU) and of them in mustang football uniforms from their teams. lol.
So there is nothing to be fooled about. I have said 9-3 and have stayed with that. That’s my belief. I’m not being a pessimist. I’m being what I feel is real in how I view this team.
That said, I’ve fully conceded they are talented enough to be 10-2 or better. Just need to see it first.
