Based on the movie of the same name, Scarface puts you in the role of Tony Montana, a ruthless gangster, during, and after the climactic final scene of the film, in which Tony is holed up in his office with rival drug lord Sosa's agents amassing outside his door. Tony escape's the gun fight, killing his enemies. Now he's left with nothing, his family gone, his friends gone, all he has left is really his balls and his word. He must travel through various locations (Miami, the Bahamas, etc.) and get revenge on Sosa, along the way, rebuilding the Empire he once had and assuming power in 1980s drug-filled Miami.

I love how the game opens with the movie’s ending showing it shot for shot. Every little movement from Tony is the same. Plus with the knowledge of the move you know to kill the assassin
Even better is if you feel like it, you CAN just let the assassin kill you and they even recreate Tony's death from the movie. No cut to movie footage, they do that bit in-game as well.
I love how they kept the original voiceover when he says “Say hello to my little friend”

I love how you can hear some parts of the game audio in the first cutscene is taken directly from the movie, but not all of it, quite resourceful of the devs! Although the print they took the audio from isn't amazing and doesn't 100% match the fidelity of the game audio, still a nice touch.
Al Pacino actually hand picked the Actor who would voice Tony in this, Maybe because he was too old!

This legendary " Say hello to my little friend!" never gets old
I love how Willzyyy executes Skull the assassin, goes to look at Gina's body, and then pumps more rounds into Skull's corpse. Way to play in character, that's exactly what I did back in '06.
If you immediately run down the stairs at this point 0:55, and dont kill The Assassin (A.K.A The Skull), he will follow you as long as you are still in the mansion part of the level. He will mostly just walk menacingly towards your location, and shoot at you when he's close.

This game was unique, not many games ever really tried basing their premise on a what if. IMO it was a pretty gutsy move for a studio who only really had The Simpsons: Hit and Run under it's belt.

Very *UNDERRATED* complex game for its genre. I remember all the hours i spent playing this as a kid, never was able to pass the last mission
chound the last mission was hard but I managed to beat it.
My only issue was this dickhead Alex who had a 360 no scope one shot 24k golden desert eagle with .50 BMG diamond bullets and here I was with a goddamn AK-47 spraying the Bolivian cuntface and he simply doesn't feel like dying. But then Rage meter went over 9000 and then somehow I murdered that Bolivian clown. His "guards" or "mercs" were the most fun I had in that mission. Even though I died like 1000 times but hey, I did it lol.

Fun fact: Apparently the total cash Tony had before he loses all of it is how much the Scarface movie made at the box office. Really nice easter egg there.

Breaking all the rules that Frank told him and failing to carry out the assassination mission in NYC and killing Manny brought about his downfall.

@@D_2387 Yes. I don't blame him either. Tony is a man whom lives by a code. He only kills those whom are stupid enough to mess with him and those he is hired to kill. In the scene which he meets Elvira by the swimming pool, he says he likes kids. Tony maybe a psychotic arrogant foul-mouthed thug, but he's not heartless and killing innocent children is a "no no" on Tony's part.
@@danielwilliamson6180 exactly. Frank is also a hypocrite in a sense. He told Tony not to trust Sosa because if you turn your back on him he sticks it in i.e not flying straight. But what did Frank do when Tony turned his back on him? Exactly that. And instead of giving him a warning that it was war like Sosa did, Frank snuck behind Tony's back like a cockroach and tried to have him killed.
@@D_2387 Frank did warn him what would happen if he crossed Sosa. But, Tony couldn't kill the children. It was the journalist he was sent to kill not the woman and the kids.

Returning to this classic with much higher quality and without copyright ruining my videos! I finally got this game running at 1080p which is quite a nightmare to achieve on PC. Let's enjoy the 80's nostalgia once again. :)

I managed to fix the retail version using ua-cam.com/video/cfBKrjacRSE/v-deo.html and there are other methods too! However, they don't always work and may have to try a few different ones.

one of the best movie to video game adaptions ever, so true to the character. literally you would confuse the voice actor with Al Pacino, they sound so similar. one of the most brutal games i've ever played, so fucking underrated but a gem.

If any game deserves a remake then it’s this absolute gem. Nobody expected anything from this game but I remember buying it in 2006 aged 19 because I loved the film so much, absolutely blown away!
Imagine if Tony survived the raid inside. How in the hell was he gonna survive the outside raid lol. It had to been about 2K of them lol
After Tony died, they split. In the comic series, Tony was barely still alive when the police came and had him taken to the OR. He nearly died twice on the operating table and lost 2 feet of intestine, but he survived.

@Proto his Henchman, Driver, and Assassin, they're not that crucial to the story but they each can do jobs for Tony to lower gang or cop heat, its not that important but its still pretty cool.

this game got its inspiration somewhat from vice city actually. because the idea of turning scarface into a game was sort of shown in vice city but vc isnt a complete copy of the movie.

Nah. In fact, FBI Files in PAYDAY 2 say that Tony Montana died in his mansion in 1980’s which means that Tony in PD2 is just a crazy and talented imposter, nothing but this. The movie’s universe crosses with PD2 universe, not the Scarface game’s one. Also the developers of PayDay said straightly that Tony from the movie and Tony as the in-game character are not the same person.

This is easily "one" of my favorite games of all time. I like how to traffic drugs from one country to the other, then distribute it between your fronts, then you have to pay a fee to clean your dirty money. It's awesome.
