For the price it's a cracking tent, and stands up to winds well if it's pitched correctly with the three poles interlaced to give more structural strength. I've seen too many reviews marking down the tent's performance in high winds when it hasn't actually been set up properly. There are plenty of useful mods and set-up tips online as well, like cinching down the "roof" sheet. Never had a problem with mine, but then if the forecast is for really bad weather I'd take a stronger tent instead.
@@KieCamps Great tents. In my case (until recent sale) an Exped Orion Extreme. Tents and weather are just like clothing and weather - assume the best, but dress/carry for the worst. I'll look out for your review.
@@KieCamps I loved it. Huge amount of space, especially headroom, and well-thought-out for living space. Very well made from top-quality materials. Pretty much bombproof. Very quick and easy to pitch solo, and with lots of guy-out points for as much stability as you need. Two porches, so plenty of space for two and kit, palatial for one. Rock-solid and completely watertight in all weathers that I came across. Downsides: weight 3.2kg, pack size (not small) and price (crazy).
Shame about the weather and the tent not holding up for him, not surprised though looked like a swap for most of the walk! hopefully 2024 brings some better weather
Got the Phoxx 2 and Hyena 2 and both held up in Brilliant weather. I'm Welsh and used to the weather and camped in Cosmo camping which was brill. Weather first night was nice but 2nd day was like a storm but tent held up no problem. Wonder if he has a defective tent? Shame you couldnt stay to complete the vid! Was looking at nature hike for my next tent as onetigris are really expensive and only 3000mm HH which is 2000 less than the OEX at half the price!
@@KieCampstbh heard you say iylt at the end of the vid in the car. :) Had he was ok and it's a learning curve. Always best to take dry bags and a spare set of clothes just incase. Making mistakes that don't harm can be fun. It's the best way to learn. Get new tent pegs from temu as their cheap and do the job. Cheers
I had the cloud peak 2 with the T door. really liked it, especially the space being 6' 2', BUT sadly one of the the main door zips failed catastrophically after about 6 uses, none of it in particularly bad weather- a common problem it seems. Its not the highest quality tent and in this case you really do get what you pay for. If only the quality was a bit better I would. recommend it no probs.
That’s a shame that’s happened to you and others. I really am enjoying the tent at the moment, even so the abikso lite 2 has been put away! Thanks for watching 👌🏻
His tent wasn’t the problem. It was his clothing, it was soaked. Everything ‘dry’ in his bag was also soaked which caused puddles in the tent. Getting in mine or the other tent wouldn’t have made a difference, he still was cold & wet and his spares were wet. Group decision to leave that camp 👌🏻
the tent`s structure is fine , as is the size and the two vestibules , it`s also great that it`s free standing but after two years i STILL cannot get my head around why they changed the original "T" door configuration to that ridiculous oval one piece door?? it`s bloody awfull , it rolls DOWNWARDS! and gets in the way of everything , it`s a bugger to clip away and it gets trampled in footprint mud/grass and in my case vege curry! lol i`m yet to bond with the tent and it may yet be sold on

Awesome team work, great effort boys!
Good video! Safety first, shows a lot of common sense. Looking forward to seeing your review.
Love my cloudpeak 2. I have the 20D one. Had it in some pretty mad weather and survived. Great video, subscribed👍
Great to know it withstood those weathers! 👌🏻 I appreciate the support Thankyou!
Really is a good bit of kit, lost count of the nights I've spent in that tent. 😀

I will be doing a review this weekend 👍🏻 and agreed, when stronger forecasts I take the trusty Fjall Raven!

The PHOXX 2 did hold up to be fair, it was more his clothing that let him down 👎🏻
Thanks for the comment and happy NY 🎆

A wise decision guys only a fool or fools would have continued in them conditions well done and stay safe
At first I thought you were on about your microphone 🤣

Couldn’t Mike have jumped in your tent with you?
