I really cannot believe Panarin was undrafted. Anyhow, great stories all around of players overcoming adversity, and continuing to grind at the level they are at.
bobrovsky played amazingly at the world cup of hockey. I was watching the canada-russia game and it was so frustrating how well he was player, but props to him
Panarin actually scored 2 goals during that famous comeback by Russia vs Canada. He was really undersized at that though, short and skinny. Still not a big guy, he has added some muscle since then.
You gotta figure there's dozens of hockey players out there who would be in the NHL right now had they simply been drafted or stuck to it after going undraftedl like these guys here. I'm sure lots of players who go undrafted simply give up on hockey and pursue a degree..
Even if the list included former players and not just active, the NHL didn't start holding drafts until the expansion era so you can't really call them "undrafted"... Back in their day, the NHL would sign those players as young as 14/15 years old and assign them to their development team - for example Bobby Orr was signed by the Bruins at 14 and played for the Oshawa Generals of the OHL (a feeder team to the Bruins) before moving on to Boston at 18..
1:50 "...norwegian-born Zuccarello..." Well, he is norwegian. Not just born there. He does not become american just by playing there. To say he is norwegian-born means that he was born there but has now another citizenship and is living in new country.
Not a bad video. But, how could You forget St Louis? He's number one on the list., Number two on the list should be Kunitz. Simply for the fact that he has one a gold medal and four Stanley cups. That's pretty impressive for somebody who's never been drafted.
I don't think "illustrious" is the word you were looking for when you said Talbot's rise was "long and illustrious". "Circuitous" would probably be more appropriate.
Panarin wasn't snatched up right away because of the Russian phobia. They run the risk of signing a player who at anytime can pack their bags and return to Russia with open arms and no repercussions. In fact I'm sure they are heralded in the papers as a "true Russian" and a "defender of the motherland" for sticking it to the westerners. Other leagues ( most affiliated w/ NHL ) don't/can't sign because of them breaking their contract Owners have also stated that no one really knows accurate details of their existing contract in khl. Player says 3 years remaining then the GM says 8. Radulov had 1 year remaining obligated to the Preds and he went and signed a contract with a Russian team cause their offer was better. All this just 1 day, I repeat 1 day after the nhl and international leagues agreed to respect each other's leagues in regards to trying to steal players under contract... Radys a scumbag. Hawks felt good about Panarin since he could make more money in Russia but still wanted to play in the nhl because of its significance. I miss seeing him on the ice every game. Bowman did him wrong sadly
ReepsFilms didn’t he come the ncaa a lot of good players from the ncaa don’t get drafted because they chose to stay all 4 years an example of this lately has been jimmy vesey when he signed to ny idk what Krugs case was but it might have been that?
ReepsFilms Vesey WAS drafted. Lots of kids in the NCAA get their rights drafted and only some of them pan out. The drafted player can then sign their entry level contract or opt out to free agency. That's what Vesey did. Krug did not have his rights drafted, and therefore was a true undrafted player.
Do overrated nhl players
Alexei Yashin would be #1 every time!
I'd totally thought Martin Jones would be on the list.
He was very close
Definitely over Talbot now lol
Love how number 1 and number 2 are both Blue Jackets
I really cannot believe Panarin was undrafted. Anyhow, great stories all around of players overcoming adversity, and continuing to grind at the level they are at.
bobrovsky played amazingly at the world cup of hockey. I was watching the canada-russia game and it was so frustrating how well he was player, but props to him
Giordano over Johnson I think
Also bob over panarian
Is there an order to it?
Dude ur so good. U are too underrated
Lol this isnt underrated. The list itself is okay but the facts, comments, and pics he includes are borderline retarded
Thanks man, I appreciate it!
Most of the 'facts' on his videos are anything but....
just found your channel, you sir got a new sub right here=)
Welcome!
Dan Girardi went undrafted and signed with the NY Rangers too. He has made a great career for himself in the NHL.
Regarding Bob: I think you mean with TWO Vezina trophies under his belt ;) great vid

Pretty good list, but Alex Burrows belongs nowhere near it.
Nice video
at 5:09 is that Dylan Larkin?
Swiss Cheese fr looks like him
Thats what i thought aswell
If it is theres noway thats Krug since they are 6 years apart agewise
Swiss Cheese it is, Larkin played Belle tire bantam minor in 2009-10. Krug was playing college already, at Michigan State.
It also looks like Kyle Connor on the left?? not sure tho
Good video
Where is Martin St-Louis!!
Brian Rafalski won multiple cups with multiple teams never drafted great offensive defensmen
I think of all of them I have the hardest time believing Panarin went undrafted. Holy shit.
Sentanyl3, even Bob and Ballsack
My brother plays in the sjhl right now, apparently it's a pretty solid league
i watched bozak play junior on a line with jamie benn
Zuc is way better than like 5 of these people.
Mark Zuckerberg?
Like like like like like like like ... like
At 9:55 you showed Semyon Varlamov...not bob😂
At 9:55 there is a picture of varlomav not bob
Damn I remember the guy at 6 playing for USA cuz I play at that rink
5:11 is that Dylan Larkin?
zuuc played in KHL also
Not sure if he was undrafted but Paul Byron
You should've waited a year or two and you could put Spencer Foo on the list.
Max Lee I'm a Flames fan, but I think he'll need more than 2 years to become one of the top undrafted players in the league
Max Lee who?
Bozak wasn't drafted because he was small in his draft year. He grew four inches while in college.
I see Hyman played with Talbot :)
Ya SJHL is still a hockey league I live in weyburn
Jonathan Marchesault?
I haven’t watched the video but Bobrovsky should be on here with 2 Vezina’s and if we’re projecting career success then Panarin should be on here.
I can say that I’ve met the two best undrafted players in the league... at the same time
Met Tyler Johnson
No Martin St Louis?
Martin St. Louis?
Current players buddy
5:36, why is there a Boston logo on his pants
I think it was after he signed and was working out in the off-season
ReepsFilms yeah
What about Martin Jones?
The Manitoba moose are the jets AHL affiliate... Not Vancouvers...
I believe this was before the Atlanta Thrashers moved to Winnipeg and became the new Jets in 2011
Now they are, not back then
Technically speaking, undrafted players include - Gordie Howe, Maurice Richard, Jean Beliveau, Dave Keon, Phil Esposito, Bobby Orr ........... etc
Was Ed Balfour,ever drafted?
No, he was undrafted, played at the University of North Dakota - he signed with Chicago as a free agent... But the list is active NHLers
the great one
I was afraid Danny Dekeyser was going to be on this list
1:50 "...norwegian-born Zuccarello..." Well, he is norwegian. Not just born there. He does not become american just by playing there. To say he is norwegian-born means that he was born there but has now another citizenship and is living in new country.
Matt Read? Joel Ward?
Why are you so surprised about the SJHL and not any other Canadian junior A leagues?
You should pronounce С.К.А. as SKA (one word). Nice video, though
No one drafted Panarin because agents knew he wasn't going to come to North America, he already had big money offers from khl teams.
Lol incorrect
Jaideep Bura, knew or thought?
Bozie is a beauty.
Manitoba moose are the jets affiliate not the canucks affiliate
They were the Canucks' affiliate when Burrows was there
They've only been Jets affiliated for a couple of seasons now. Their last incarnation, 2001 - 2011, they belonged to the Vancouver Canucks.
“Sjhl which is apparently still a league”
johnson has that warrior face
11:15 SKA? It's CKA
Lol no tanev? Okay
Compulsive Liar I know you're not talking about Chris Tanev's weak ass lmao dirty player, not even a top 6 defensemen, get outta here dumbass
Bruh he ain't dirty the only bad thing about him is his injurys
adam oates went undrafted although that's not who you were talking about
6:04 humboldt broncos
Taylor Hall should be on this list /s
No Krug??? I think he is one of the best top 4 d in the league
Is that larkin? 5:12
looks like it lol. also looks like kyle connor (18) on the left
If we are doing all time i think wayne gretzky has to be first
2:58 scoring 300 points?
Ryan Reaves would be lucky to get 30 points In a season that big dummy
Current player or not Wayne Gretzky should still be number 1
Where’s Belfour???
Not a bad video. But, how could You forget St Louis? He's number one on the list., Number two on the list should be Kunitz. Simply for the fact that he has one a gold medal and four Stanley cups. That's pretty impressive for somebody who's never been drafted.
This list was only current players, St. Louis of course was retired when I made this
Kunitz Giordano should be higher up.
Not even gonna mention martin jones huh>
Giodano??
St.louiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiss louie louie
KRUUUUUUUUG! Go Bruins!
Go Canadiens go!
Bruins suck ballsacks lol
I don't think "illustrious" is the word you were looking for when you said Talbot's rise was "long and illustrious". "Circuitous" would probably be more appropriate.
ah yes, thank you !
Uhhhhh Martin St. Louis?
This is only for current players, not all time; but that list is coming soon!
you forgot ed belfour
Martin St. Louis best I drafted ever
Stop eating your mic
Astro DraGZz exactly
Ty lewis in the future
Bob has 2 veniza trophy’s
Cbj both got top 2
Marty St-Louis
Conner McDavid was illegally drafted by the Edmonton Oilers.
Kunitz should’ve been number 1
Maybe next vid a list about late-bloomers in general? And try not to use these ones on this list.
I think Scott foster was better than Rick dipietro
Oilers found a better goalie now We all know who
bobrovsky has 2 vezina trophies

2011 2nd rounder (58th overall) by the Tampa Bay Lightning
Does Krug even count 😂😂
why wouldn't he?
ReepsFilms didn’t he come the ncaa a lot of good players from the ncaa don’t get drafted because they chose to stay all 4 years an example of this lately has been jimmy vesey when he signed to ny idk what Krugs case was but it might have been that?
I still think talent trumps the possibility that they stay all 4 years, I think Krug was just massively underrated.
ReepsFilms Vesey WAS drafted. Lots of kids in the NCAA get their rights drafted and only some of them pan out. The drafted player can then sign their entry level contract or opt out to free agency.
