It’s pretty much impossible to sound this good at a local level even if you’re insanely tight chances are the sound guy isn’t your sound guy and just makes it ‘okay’, the room isn’t setup properly for live sound mixing, and the speakers are not powerful enough to support a vocalist over a band unless they’re practically yelling or playing quieter music
@@Viper-dz2kw try to sound as good as possible from the stage / as a band then normally the sound engineer doesn't have to do THAT much. but yeah, i get your point.
@@Viper-dz2kw the amount of times I’ve mixed us before a gig, my local is right near the music college, so a lot of local nights are mixed by college student, which isn’t bad. But I spent half our sound check teaching them how to use the console and mix the supporting / next band.
Just when i thought I couldn't be any more impressed by Alex, he drops this. Not only is he stepping into a slightly different genre, he's establishing a narrative arc for a fictional band. Amazing!
Digging the longer skit setups, showing off those comedy chops! Also another banger song. If you don’t name an album “Live at the Cootie Hut” I would be very sad.
"Alex death inevitable" haha, Loving the increasing comedy in these videos lately, but the music is just brilliant as always. A nice wee change up to the heavy stuff but has the alex melton vibe as well, love it
But I also wish he just released an audio only version of it too though, it's hard to justify adding it to my playlist with the one minute of filler at the beginning and end of the video. I like the comedy bits too, just hard to replay it every time I want to listen to it.
I've gotten so used to Alex being a god at every aspect of music he picks up, I fully just expected for him to drop a screamo vocal part in the middle of the verse. A little sad that we didn't reach that level, but a little reassured that this incredible musician is in some form just a human like the rest of us. (Hope this didn't come off as dismissive, absolutely loved this vid and all of your content! The Melton Cinematic Universe is my new favorite!)
Was hoping for screams and a heavier breakdown, especially after all the bands he named. The breakdown was kinda anticlimactic. Overall the cover was more rock than metalcore. However, Alex's musicianship is outstanding like always.
This is why I love and hate UA-cam, because you get to see amazingly talented people produce phenomenal content but it takes forever to find them! Been binging your content and I absolutely love what you do. Thank you for being you and sharing your passion with us! I love your vibe and love the music, looking forward to the next one!
Just remember, if you get paid, youre a professional. Also: I remember seeing Fall Out Boy with about 10 people (yes I’m old) because there was a time when they wanted to be known and no one knew who they were or liked them. Point being: club promoters are typically useless and scummy.
I love this! Different to your usual stuff but still in the perfect catchment area of lads in their 30s who went from listening to pop punk, then to hardcore/metalcore then back around. It's a fun nostalgia trip!
I just keep coming back to this song because the whole thing slaps, but man, the breakdown is nothing short of a masterclass. Alex, can't wait for more of these!
Alex I loved this version but there is one little thing I feel it was missing if hopefully you continue in this genre. I'd love to see someone doing a bit of scream vocals. I don't think it would be need to be a lot but I feel it would add a lot to the sound. Other than that, like I said great video! Truly outstanding.
You're absolutely killing it, I will say I would love to see you have a metal vocalist join you for a song like this to take it to that next mind blowing level.
Dude this goes so insanely hard please do more fall out boy covers like this. One of my favorite bands and this really just turns it to 11…insanely talented man.
Lol. The $100 for the night and it's got exposure. My first job was in a music store and I heard this from everyone. Years to learn and instrument and people don't see it as a very valuable skill for some reason.
Mate first off, loving the story telling elements! I wasn't sure the first time I saw it, but 3 or 4 videos later I reckon you've really hit your stride! Second, I have no idea how hard it is to learn metal growling/screaming but dude that would blow the roof off this kind of cover! Love your work boi!
I'd really like to see more heavy stuff like this, you named off a lot of my favorite bands from back in the day and nailed the song so you got my sub. More please!
Holy shit man, this song is crazy good. Arrangement is superb and production is top notch. You're hitting bangers week after week. This is a fucking epic tear.
Duuuuude it’s after midnight here where I live (Nicaragua/Central America) and trust me when I say I was about to put my head on the pillow and let go this freaking day behind, but I just wanted to watch something to relax and I ended up smashing all out in my imaginary pit, jajaja I felt soooo 2008 but with a higher quality, please don’t stop creating this awesome content, that takes us back to the early breakdown’s simplicity and some FOB masterpiece, You crushed it again ❤
Alex man you've done it again. You continue to show us how versatile you can be while also giving us killer interpretations of childhood jams. Love you dawg, Keep on Rockin

is this the virtual instrument you always use?
"Hello, Police, I'd like to report a crime, cuz Alex is killing it EVERY WEEK". Awesome as always, dude
Ditto
Definitely
More like the crime is that they stole a song and improved it 1000% lol
He is armed with multiple axes and is clearly adept with them.
FallOutBoy is in recovery, never been thrashed so completely before
God, please let this be a new running series of heavy versions of emo and pop punk and country songs.
Yes please!!!
Yes! Yes👍🤟👏👏
I now want a full on album of Metal Goes Emo.
Machine Head doing Don't Wait
Slipknot doing This Could be Anywhere in the World
Metallic doing Pretty Handsome Awkward...
I want it all!
I need a 1hr power hour of heavy covers. I've listened to the Y'Allternative one so much
Would be a bless
If a local band played this clearly live I would be shocked.
Check out sycamore they did this years back and killed it
Hahaha, no kidding
It’s pretty much impossible to sound this good at a local level even if you’re insanely tight chances are the sound guy isn’t your sound guy and just makes it ‘okay’, the room isn’t setup properly for live sound mixing, and the speakers are not powerful enough to support a vocalist over a band unless they’re practically yelling or playing quieter music

This might be one of my favourites from you, more fall out boy breakdowns please!!
As long as you give it a bridge review score. :)
I heard architects hate Fall Out Boy breakdowns.
I literally just came here from watching your eggplants breathe fresh air for the first time and now you're here lmao 🤘
RCE??!!?? I absolutely love that one of my favorite UA-camrs is ALSO an Alex Melton fan! Peace love and strongest shapes my guy ;)
Who knew rce liked good tunes
Just when i thought I couldn't be any more impressed by Alex, he drops this. Not only is he stepping into a slightly different genre, he's establishing a narrative arc for a fictional band. Amazing!
The grifty industry people make it feel like a GTA5 mission story line
jokes on you it's an actual band that he formed with 4 of his clones.
This feels like the beginning of the Melton Cinematic Universe.
Have you heard of Your Broken Hero?
Please do more heavy stuff, this is great.
It's also the arrangement which makes it so epic builds and flows, love his Dua Lipa rock cover 2
More breakdowns!
Digging the longer skit setups, showing off those comedy chops! Also another banger song. If you don’t name an album “Live at the Cootie Hut” I would be very sad.
Holy shit, was there another cootie hut or are we talking about the cootie hut in Florence sc!?!?
😂😂🤣👍🤟
The pop punk lovers that also really love the heavy (more heavy) stuff have entered the chat... We need more!!!
👋
😉
Here here!!
I agree 100,000%
🤟🤟🤟🤟👏👏👍
This is so cool. It’s like a mix between ADTR, BMTH, ABR, Periphery, WCAR, Underoath, Architects, TDWP, FFAK, Counterparts, and ETID. Super original!
🤣
I got a Linkin Park vibe.
👍🖤🤘
Alex evolving into making actual SKITS in addition to the bangers he makes. Love it.
Opening scene is completely unbelievable. You had a whole conversation and the drummer didn't practice drum fills in the middle of it.
This is the version if Dance Dance no one asked for, not knowing it is the version they really needed! FREAKING AWESOME!!!!
"Alex death inevitable" haha, Loving the increasing comedy in these videos lately, but the music is just brilliant as always. A nice wee change up to the heavy stuff but has the alex melton vibe as well, love it
"Corporate Accounts, Inevitable, Alex speaking... Just a moMENT"
Also, truth on the comedy. Weaving in the like/sub call-to-action into the call at the end was perfectly paced
But I also wish he just released an audio only version of it too though, it's hard to justify adding it to my playlist with the one minute of filler at the beginning and end of the video. I like the comedy bits too, just hard to replay it every time I want to listen to it.

I 100% understand and agree.
I’m sure we’ll see a scream eventually ❤️
Well, this is just part 1 though....
Was also hoping for some screams lol
Was hoping for screams and a heavier breakdown, especially after all the bands he named. The breakdown was kinda anticlimactic. Overall the cover was more rock than metalcore. However, Alex's musicianship is outstanding like always.
@@tyoidbone Probs next heavy video it will evolve into a full fledged metalcore band.
That is definitely the drumming of a local heavy band during the chorus 🤣
This actually calms me down
I need a full set of this.
This is why I love and hate UA-cam, because you get to see amazingly talented people produce phenomenal content but it takes forever to find them! Been binging your content and I absolutely love what you do. Thank you for being you and sharing your passion with us! I love your vibe and love the music, looking forward to the next one!
Sometimes I have to remind myself that Alex is one person and not multiple clones. Most creative content out there
That was way too tight with zero screams to be a local heavy band. It was too tasteful
Yeah “Heavy” was a bit of a stretch 😂
I like how Alex could easily be a one man label with a diverse roster of bands that just all happen to consist of just him.
Damnnnnnnnnnnnn this goes hard. Fall Heavy Boy is the cover band I didn't know I needed.
This is sooo good. I want the audio version of this so I can rock it on repeat in the car.
Just remember, if you get paid, youre a professional.
Also: I remember seeing Fall Out Boy with about 10 people (yes I’m old) because there was a time when they wanted to be known and no one knew who they were or liked them.
Point being: club promoters are typically useless and scummy.
Was hoping for an Alex scream, dope song either way
Me too, but I'm guessing he doesn't have the proper technique down so it's good he kept it safe
The Cootie Hut. Boy, thats brings back memories.
If I was you, I’d want to be in your bad. Everyone seems to mesh well together
All of them have such natural chemistry with each other, it's uncanny...
BRO ARE YOU COMPLETELY INSANE???? man that sounded straight like if August Burns Red played Fall Out Boy. Can you please make this a thing?
Intro: hilarious and painfully relatable to all serious musicians
Production: incredible. The reworking of some of the progressions and groove is sick
Please add this on Spotify!!! Hoping to hear more of the Death Inevitable covers! More break downs!! 🤟
Holy shit! Who knew that Alex could go heavy too?!?! This was soooooo good! I hope to hear more like this!!!
This has to be the most epic cover I’ve heard of yours so far. It’s like if Fall Out Boy, The Used and Disturbed had a baby.
This, stylistically, is wonderful. I'd love to hear Death Inevitable's original debut album.
Holy shit, this is great, gives me LP vibes.
Nothing, and I mean *nothing* could have prepared me for Fallout Boy breakdowns. This is officially my favorite thing you've ever done!
You do not miss brother!
P.S. Please include Saves The Day in one your vids with all the other classic pop punk bands!
Yes! I was hoping someone mentioned this or I was going to; otherwise a great "heavy-ish" cover :)
I love the way you’ve been integrating the like/comment/subscribe into the narrative, so creative! And a cliffhanger! Can’t wait till next video.
Sold out show at The Cootie Hut! Lets f'n gooo!
Those drum fills on "why don't you show me a little bit of spine", oh my God, they're gorgeous.
These new narrative-driven videos are killer. I can wait for all the lore in the Meltonverse.
You're absolutely killing it, I will say I would love to see you have a metal vocalist join you for a song like this to take it to that next mind blowing level.
Somehow you've made one of my last favorite fall out boy songs so much better
I'd be moshing it up to this song if I could go back 20 years. Awesome!
The skits you do are killer. So funny and accurate! (Which makes them also sad) keep it up that was great!
How… how the heck do you do this every dang time?! You are too good.
Just when I thought he couldn't get any better.....this is the best! Keep it up and please drop a heavy cover album!
“What do you guys sound like” was brilliant
Those guitar parts were so sick
need this on Spotify like yesterday!!!
Everything about this video was on point... right down to 9:07 pm.
Hollly shit, mind blown. Thank you for this!
The label wasn’t wrong, that was an incredible cover 😳🔥🔥
Dude this goes so insanely hard please do more fall out boy covers like this. One of my favorite bands and this really just turns it to 11…insanely talented man.
Pay to play is a real thing. At least you got a Saturday evening slot and not a Wednesday night at 5:30 pm LOL!
This slaps. You did it again. Never ceases to amaze me.
Lol. The $100 for the night and it's got exposure. My first job was in a music store and I heard this from everyone.
Years to learn and instrument and people don't see it as a very valuable skill for some reason.

“Alright, this is your last chance!”
“Wait, didn’t they just start?”
1:45 - That intro was godlike. I like Africa, the only problem is the lack of good live rock.
Makes sense since Fall Out Boy was into their local Heavy bands.
A better cover of this song doesn't exist.
That intro, though. I've been there waaaaay too many times. I'm laughing... but crying at the same time LOL! Great one, Alex!
Make some of the vocals screamo and it's a 10/10 punk goes pop cover
This could be my favorite cover of all time, absolutely killed it dude!!!
This was awesome Alex! I was hoping to hear some screaming from you 🤞🏻
I'd really like to see more heavy stuff like this, you named off a lot of my favorite bands from back in the day and nailed the song so you got my sub. More please!
If this doesn’t end up on Spotify I will riot!
Holy shit man, this song is crazy good. Arrangement is superb and production is top notch. You're hitting bangers week after week. This is a fucking epic tear.
Love this version!
I honestly had no idea what to expect based on the title of the video, but I was not disappointed. The breakdown at 4:26 is absolutely catastrophic.
Dude you absolutely smash every genre, it’s unreal! Brings me back to my teenage years
Duuuuude it’s after midnight here where I live (Nicaragua/Central America) and trust me when I say I was about to put my head on the pillow and let go this freaking day behind, but I just wanted to watch something to relax and I ended up smashing all out in my imaginary pit, jajaja I felt soooo 2008 but with a higher quality, please don’t stop creating this awesome content, that takes us back to the early breakdown’s simplicity and some FOB masterpiece, You crushed it again ❤
LOL "so yeah, never heard anything like it." I love your influences so that makes sense. Happy to be a fan!! This song slaps💕💕
Wow, the range is incredible...skits, comedy, heavier music? Killing it as usual Alex!
When you think it can't get better, he goes and add script and backstory. Awesome!
It's ridiculous how high you set the bar. Amazing thanks for that 🙏
Fwuack this mix is clean. And the harmonies are insane. Jeez, I just got recommended this channel for the first time somehow.
Omfg loved this so much. Banged my head the whole time, with goosebumps. Love you style Alex. Cheers bro
Death Inevitable is my favorite band.
Alex: "i should make a series where i mess around and make little twists on songs"
also Alex: *absolute bangers*
Alex man you've done it again. You continue to show us how versatile you can be while also giving us killer interpretations of childhood jams. Love you dawg, Keep on Rockin
That breakdown is sick! Much love from Cebu Philippines!
It’s giving killswitch!
This is a great start of a series-like content. Can't wait for the next episode
If I saw a local band at 9pm doing this version of this song I’d going going insane, smashed it haha
Actually, I think I’ll listen to some local bands now. thanks for reminding me to support the local bois
Holy shit! I wasn’t expecting this! Alex yet again, hell of a job
Hearing "meets counterparts" in that phone call solidified my love for this channel.
Great work dude;
The voice of "A Label" sounded exactly like Shawn Pilot from "Car Masters: Rust to Riches". His voice, phrasing, timing, inflection, everything.
Bro, I knew you knew all those bands. I’m so glad you’ve finally done something harder!
Absolutely love this arrangement - I am big into heavy rock/metal covers of punk/ska/emo - this ticks all the boxes for me! Keep em coming
I've watched all your shit, but this one is ESPECIALLY good. Keep going bro
really thought i was going to hear some screamed vocals from Alex. Great video as always and i loved the skit at the start.
Loving the new style of these covers and the direction your taking bro!!! keep it up!
ALEX! Holy crap you’ve outdone yourself AGAIN!! I love this one so much! You nailed the post-hardcore genre so well. It’s so badass!
Can't wait to see you guys at the next emo night!
This is actually really dope. First time viewer. Just wanted to share how talented you guys are. Far and away the best cover I've heard of this track.
