The tip of the hat to the Forester was an awesome way to close. I started watching this channel with the road trip series, and knowing what the Forester accomplished after all this is a good salute to what would have been an awesome Legacy build.

We decided to sell the 190e which was painful but we ended up something better and practical. We bought a first gen CRV with only 70km mileage and that car lasted for 6 years in the fam.

Honestly Ben you aren't a failure for not being able to go the route you wanted with this project. Hell if anything it shows that your willing to part ways if it proves too much, which is pretty hard for a car guy to do sometimes. Amazing vids as per usual my guy
These are the questions that face owners of all builds, every day. I own a 2nd generation Legacy wagon (Outback, but when the Outback was still Legacy based). I've been building an engine for it for almost a year now. In that time, I was daily driving the car, as it had a 2.2 swap which we did after the the first 2.5 cannibalized a rod bearing. What brought the car to where it is now (being on jackstands for the last couple of months) was that the 5 speed started dumping all of the gear oil out of it. No trans shop wanted to touch the car (one even went so far as to when it was there for 5 days, they broke it more, although the newly broken item was unrelated to the trans), so I went and picked the car up, filled with gear oil in their parking lot, and drove it 30-40 miles home. Yanked the trans myself with no help (which is more of an act of making it fall as gracefully as possible out of the car), and found a failed input shaft bearing, which was moving the front seal around and causing the leak. So now I'm rebuilding the trans myself, along with the engine. It would be so much easier to dump the thing but 1) has too much sentimental value, 2) I've already invested way too much time and money to let it go, and 3) I have plans for it. To be able to say a project is not worth completion and offload it, while making your money back, however, is a sign of true maturity. Good on you.

Really quite sad to find out the gate on the car, especially with how excited and motivated you were to get it back to running in honor of the previous owner. That Forester looks delicious can't wait for content on it, especially with your cinematography I bet you could sucker me into buying a yugo...
I'm sorry for you lost man! but going towards the Forester is a better decision! Can't wait to see that build! I love your cinematics, I'm trying to do the same with my videos of my EVO 9! I smashed that "LIKE"!!
Ben, you're not a failure at all; you did all you could, but it just wasn't worth the money that needed to be put into it. You did the smart thing, good choice.
That sucks. Loved that car and always wanted a Legacy sedan or Wagon like that, but some things aren’t meant to be and I am sure you are very happy with your Forester. In the end, it’s your life, money, and decision so glad you are finally where you want to be. :)
Hmm, I was wondering about that. Sucks to see how that played out, but you’re definitely better off with the Forester. It drives and- I’m assuming - has a good title.
I'll admit. Usually I don't like foresters or wagons or any of that stuff, but wow. You guys all make some amazing, gorgeous vehicles that anyone could fall in love with. I've come from loving Mustangs and Camaros and Corvette's and Trucks to appreciating almost all cars. (except the BMW i3. Ew.) Kinda crazy. We need more bike content though ;D
Sucks to see it turned out that way, but personally I think it is actually better that you got a Forester since they are cooler anyways!! Great comeback man!

Well, it was interesting. I have believed till the end that it will success project. Thanks, man, for real life content and your wasted time costs and e.t.c. respect !
Had an inking something on the lines of this seeing the forester, don't be disappointed Ben you wen't down every possible avenue, its for the best
honestly even if no one liked this news its important for people to understand. not every project can be finished, have money thrown on it or be rushed by a shop sometimes you have no option but to give up on it, but not to give up just move on to a better project!
You win some, you lose some. That doesn't make you a failure. And look at the badass forester you have now. I would not call that a fail!
I've only recently fond you guys, and I must say you have some seriously good content. Keep it up!
Great video, sad to see it go but happy you found something that worked out👍
Thats the right move, dude! Some times it's better to admit that the horse is dead, than constantly trying to find different ways to resurect it!
The revival of this car would have been epic! Sad to see the outcome. I'm glad you tried your best to make some great videos for us. Good luck with the next upcoming projects man! Love your channel and all the hard work you put into them! I may possibly still do a built shortblock and 6 speed swap as I have all supporting mods to go 400+ whp on my 08 lgt as my daily. Maybe you can come to vegas to shoot it? Hehehe
Im so pumped you got a Forester! Can't wait to see more on it!
Really quite sad to find out the gate on the car, especially with how excited and motivated you were to get it back to running in honor of the previous owner. That Forester looks delicious can't wait for content on it, especially with your cinematography I bet you could sucker me into buying a yugo...
Great video once again guys! Some things dont always work out but the Forester is sweet!
I'm sorry for you lost man! but going towards the Forester is a better decision! Can't wait to see that build! I love your cinematics, I'm trying to do the same with my videos of my EVO 9! I smashed that "LIKE"!!
That was a rollercoaster of emotions
I like all the positive comments on this video as much as the car and story.
Im so not satisfied with the results but it's still your build. Never give up.
Hmm, I was wondering about that. Sucks to see how that played out, but you’re definitely better off with the Forester. It drives and- I’m assuming - has a good title.
The Intro is Superb
Thanks for the update
Its really sad for loosing the car, but thats all he can take, just continue to your new journey brother 😘 😘 😘
If there was an oscar for best youtube video production quality.
Youll definitely get it
So looking forward to the 6speed swaped forester, but man what a trip with this car!
Interesting story Glad you were able to get your money back in parts. Forester looks like fun
Sucks to see it turned out that way, but personally I think it is actually better that you got a Forester since they are cooler anyways!! Great comeback man!
The cinematography oh my goodness
