Hawaii. Big Island

This past May, I embarked on an unforgettable adventure to the Big Island of Hawaii. My journey spanned seven days, covering over 700 miles and included stays in the vibrant town of Kona and the charming city of Hilo.
Here are some highlights from this incredible trip:
Volcanoes National Park:
I explored the awe-inspiring landscapes of Volcanoes National Park, home to Kilauea, one of the world's most active volcanoes.
Helicopter Flight (Optional):
While I explored the coast by helicopter, I wouldn't necessarily recommend this specific activity.
Beaches: I soaked up the sun and explored the diverse beach offerings of the island. This included the unique black sand of Kehena Beach, the scenic beauty of Richardson Ocean Park and Carlsmith Beach Park, the dramatic cliffs at Onomea Bay Trail, and the hidden gem of Green Sand Beach.
Nature and Culture: Beyond the beaches, I ventured inland to experience the Mauna Loa Macadamia nut factory, a fascinating glimpse into a local industry. I also spent time at Rainbow Falls, a breathtaking cascade surrounded by lush vegetation. Additionally, a visit to Mauna Kea, a dormant volcano with cultural significance, could be included here if you went.
This trip provided a perfect blend of adventure, relaxation, and cultural immersion on the Big Island.
