Psych Synopsis: "PSYCH" is a quick-witted dramedy about a young police consultant Shawn Spencer (James Roday, “The Dukes of Hazzard”) who solves crimes with powers of observation so acute that he’s convinced Santa Barbara PD detectives into thinking he's psychic. Raised in Santa Barbara by a family of cops, Shawn possesses uncanny powers of observation honed by his police officer father, Henry, who drilled young Shawn to note even the smallest of details from his surroundings as a way of grooming him for his inevitable career in the family business. With the reluctant assistance of his best friend Gus, Shawn uses his skills of observation and charismatic personality to become the detective he was trained to be, opening his own PI agency - Psych - and solving cases for an ever-suspicious, but grudgingly impressed, police force.

"Gus is in there". That episode defined the actual depth of their friendship.
Something I love about that moment is thay shawn is a very comedic person. Even in serious moments he's cracking jokes and seems like he isn't taking it seriously but there are moments through the series (including this one. Especially this one) where he drops it all and is dead serious. Dead serious bc it involved someone so important to him
also how worried gus was whenever Shawn goes missing/shot
@@avapickard2406 One of my favorite moments of exactly what you are talking about is in the Yin/Yang episode where Jules is tied to the clock tower and Shawn says to Gus the only way he knows he can go save Abigail is knowing someone will do anything to save Jules and he entrusts Gus to do so. That moment hits me every time I see it. Brothers for life!
@@justinliberti5917or how about the bickering between the two when Yang was fixing to kill them. They didn't want to see the other die first and if help could arrive in time to save just one of them, they wanted it to be the other one.
Don't forget the episode where Shawn willingly stole a car from the SBPD to save Gus' life when he was held hostage.
It's so sweet how Gus wants to make sure that Shawn doesn't die thinking that he blamed him or was angry at him. He wanted their final moments to be without regret and for such a goofy show they probably had the strongest friendship I've ever seen

I have great news for you. While they aren't childhood friends, they are truly close friends. James Roday (Shawn) was even a groomsman in Dulé Hill's (Gus) wedding. So it's acting with a bit of truth to it.

That episode probably makes me laugh the hardest. The show had done what many comedies do- the characters turning into parodies of themselves, but somehow it didn't get any worse in that process and had some of my favorite episodes in that season.
One of the small, yet best moments, which is not in here, is when they talk about how they will live next door to eachother and have a pool that is split between their yards.
I expect to see that realized in one of the psych movies. lol
There aren’t many bromances as strong and deep as this one

I'm kinda disappointed that the part where Shawn comforts Gus as he's getting dumped by Racheal in season 7 and when Shawn pushes Gus out of the way during "Heeeeeere's Lassie" aren't on here.

As someone with legitimate Germaphobia who's had it for most of their life, I find Gus' Germaphobia to be hilarious. He REALLY has a problem with other peoples bodily fluids. I always pegged Gus as that type of person who never kisses women with his tongue because the idea of swapping spit sends him into a panic attack.

In the middle of gus walks into a bank well not in the middle but when shawn’s still waiting in the blueberry my parents wlaked in and told me they were getting separated; they’re divorced now. I still love Psych though it’s my favorite tv show of all time.
